  1. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 08:12 PM) And the tying run came to the plate with the bases loaded, which is why I want us to get a run here before I'd start messing with the pen. I agree with you. I'd either like to see Vazquez try to finish the game, or bring in Cotts.
  2. Last time we were up 4 runs going into the 9th, Thornton came in.
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 08:04 PM) No-hitters are very rare. You expect every team to get at least one hit in every game. It doesn't make me angry to see a no-no broken up usually, because I just assume it's going to happen eventually. I'd love to see Vazquez throw a no-hitter, but getting the win is just as important to me. It was nice to see him come right back and get out of the inning after the cheap hit.
  4. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) Are you watching the game? Tony...this was one of those sarcastic comments I make throughout the year to see what the reaction would be. It's similar to how I said last year that I'd rather have Shingo pitch instead of Jenks, since Shingo has better stuff.
  5. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 07:27 PM) PK hit it too hard right to LF. He would've been toast. What good is Pods if he can't score from 2nd base on a single?
  6. Quick question....why wasn't Cintron bunting?
  7. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 07:16 PM) man the Royals are bad. I thought they would be better. Is Zac Grienke still in the nut house? Why can't people type this stuff after the game!
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 07:10 PM) s***!! For those following on here, I think you made us believe that Stairs had homered.
  9. 9 of our 12 outs have been on pop/fly outs.
  10. QUOTE(bmags @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 07:04 PM) he kept it in control and then some in his last year in Montreal Any pitcher with a 80 mph fastball can have a good ERA pitching in Montreal.
  11. QUOTE(bmags @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 07:01 PM) its amazing vaz can ever give up 5 runs in an inning when he's got that stuff...I'm imagining a Contreras like 2nd half from him this year. That's long been the knock on Vazquez. He'll look unhittable for a few games, and then he'll give up 8 runs in 4 innings, etc. Some insurance runs would sure be nice this game.
  12. QUOTE(Damen @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 06:46 PM) With our offense right now, there's no need taking the 50-60% risk of producing an out for the sake of one run. I'll give Pods another month of basestealing to show he can steal at the rate he did before his injury, but if he can't, I'd rather he demonstrate restraint on the basepaths. He had stolen a few bases in a row rather easily. Considering there was a tall righty on the mound, he had no reason not to try and keep up his success on the bases. There's no one on this site who dislikes Pods more than I do, but I want him stealing in that situation.
  13. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 06:31 PM) Live with it. Scotty's going to steal bases and he's going to get caught stealing, that's his game. He's also going to have times where he produces a run by himself, it's useless to b**** everytime he gets thrown out because it's going to happen. Yep...we should be happy we at least got one run that inning.
  14. The Royals have their Sunday lineup today. This would be a very nice victory, since we face Santana on Friday.
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 04:28 PM) This kind of sounds exactly like how the Garland and Contreras stuff started and what do you know..we got 3 year deals done with both. Yeah, I'm not going to lose a second of sleep over this. We still have him for basically 2 full baseball seasons. A lot can change over that period of time.
  16. QUOTE(White Sox Fan For Life @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) I agree with you because he could be like another Joe Borchard. But right now everyone is just being too hard on BA even though he is filling Rowand's place. That is a tough job to fulfill especially the last season with Rowand's tremendous skills out their in center field. The thing is, I think Anderson came in with a very simple job. While people in Chicago love Rowand, his production last year was not very good. It wouldn't take much for a solid outfielder to top Rowand's production last season. It's not like we're talking about bringing up Rogowski to take the place of Konerko. The only time tremendous should be used in regards to Rowand is his attitude....definitely not his skills.
  17. That pitch was actually 97mph, according to Hawk.
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 02:55 PM) And he could suck. You never know. Point is there is no need to s*** on others for having concerns. I know a lot of people point out to how if we give up on Anderson now, we should have given up on Dye last year. There's a big difference between a proven veteran like Dye, and a rookie who outside of one game in his career has shown no ability to string together consistent at-bats. Anderson's approach at the plate is bad, and I'm not sure if his current swing will ever result in him hitting over .225 in the majors.
  19. QUOTE(White Sox Fan For Life @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 02:49 PM) You are being too harsh because it is too early in the season right now and for BA's career. Just wait and see he might turn out to be even better than Aaron Rowand you never know. I think everyone will be disappointed if Anderson doesn't turn out to be better than Rowand in his career.
  20. I have a feeling we'll see Gload playing for either PK or Thome (I'd definitely like to see Thome play today, as he hit some f'n rockets off of Elarton last week) and Mackowiak in CF.
  21. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 02:54 AM) BMAC has such a wild, violent motion; do you think that it could get him into trouble elbow/arm wise someday like what happened to Wood? It's not the motion which causes problems, it's your arm motion on the pitch/follow-thru. Wood always threw across his body, and put a tremendous amount of torque on his elbow with his slider. McCarthy's overhand curve shouldn't put as much stress on his arm.
  22. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 02:25 AM) His stuff IMO looks as good as I've ever seen it. As much as I still have some bullpen concerns, he sure as hell isn't one of them. Kudos to Bobby for working himself back into form and stay healthy! His stuff was amazing in the World Series last year. He's still trying to get a feel on his curve, as it's very inconsistent. However, I'm very impressed with his control recently.
  23. Good win. We didn't hit great, but took advantage of that terrible error by Berroa.
  24. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 02:24 AM) Is he throwing 86mph fastballs? No, they said it was 97 mph before.
