  1. We're leaving Buehrle in there to die now. He's not sharp at all, and he's about to put the tying run in scoring position.
  2. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:58 AM) Funny how that works... I have a feeling that last night's thread would have been longer than 20 pages if I was around.
  3. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:57 AM) Boy, this thread really cleared out now that the Sox are winning. Boring, isn't it????hahah I'M STILL HERE.....PUNK!
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:42 AM) Two cookies for Anderson, and two fouls. A curve here, and he's gone. or maybe not. Pretty good swing there.
  5. Two cookies for Anderson, and two fouls. A curve here, and he's gone.
  6. This is a blasphemous comment, but Crede should get the day off tomorrow.
  7. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:36 AM) HUGE INNING BUERHLE! Too bad people are calling you pathetic. Our f***ing ace. That's embarassing. At this point in the season, he's not an ace. Lets not be the Cubs and call everyone an ace based on what they did in previous seasons. As you like to mention, Contreras has been our ace this year.
  8. Good final pitch by Buehrle that inning. Seems like we escaped some drama that inning.
  9. This is pathetic by Buehrle. He has no crispness to his pitches.
  10. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:24 AM) Quit it. I've always said I'll give praise when it's due. A lot of the time though, I'm afraid of the jinx factor.
  11. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:18 AM) Pods hitting .282, which is close to incredible after his start. His OBP is now over .350 as well. Just awesome. He's been hitting great lately. His approach has also been much better, as he's protecting at the plate better.
  12. Keep it going guys!
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:16 AM) Quick, Fathom, SSH, you can all leave now, Huh? If there's anyone who's on this site win or lose, it's me.
  14. There we go Pods. As my colleague JimH said, it was important to get the runs off of Silva before he gets taken out.
  15. Need to get one of these runners in.
  16. I can guarantee that Gardy won't worry about Silva qualifying for the win.
  17. Keep getting hits, and avoiding the double play!
  18. QUOTE(quickman @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:08 AM) you mean garland? buerhle? Politte? Logan? ... Which one are we talking about? Don't forget Thornton, Haeger, Montero
  19. QUOTE(JimH @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:03 AM) Ross don't worry about it, really. People will think what they want to think, frankly it doesn't matter, it's a message board. Enjoy the games, post from your heart, talk baseball, and let things flow. We're all Sox fans here (besides jabroni). Even though we get into verbal wars, I'd still rather fight with a Sox fan than talk to a Cubs fan.
  20. QUOTE(quickman @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:00 AM) correct I'm probably putting myself in quickman/flash territory here, but the most disappointing thing of the last week is the lack of major league ready depth we have in the minors. We were on a great stretch before the Haeger game, and if he could have just given us a solid start, our fortunes probably could have been better. I wasn't on this site at the end of the game last night, but why in the world is Jenks warming up in the 8th inning when we're down 3? He needs rest right now!
  21. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 15, 2006 -> 12:53 AM) What are you talking about? We are 4-1 against the Angels, and have lost atleast 3 to the Royals. I guess I didn't realize that the Royals were a better team than the Angels. The Angels suck so far this year, especially with their recent injuries. They were the perfect team for us to face. We match up better against teams that struggle to score. We've never been better at out slugging teams.
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 15, 2006 -> 12:51 AM) I want you to do it just once, though. Ok....there's no reason to people to panic. We still have a very strong team, and we were destined to have a bad streak come up.
  23. QUOTE(JimH @ May 15, 2006 -> 12:50 AM) The pitch calling has been awful, these Twins hitters are on fire, they are hot. Not absolving Sox pitching, they are missing spots and it has been bad. Twins hitters deserve some credit, but the Sox pitchers need to move the ball up and down, not just in and out. The Twins had baserunners all that inning, they can signal in pretty easy that Pierzynski is setting up outside. Finally he threw a fastball up in the zone in the 1st inning and got Castillo out, that was the first time he mad e the Twins hitters move their hitting eye up and down. Sounds ridiculous but that's exactly what Santana does with his fastball, he moves it in and out, up and down. Some people forget that the Twins were without Stewart and Castillo when we swept them a few weeks ago. This Twins team will give our pitchers some trouble, as a lot of them have had success vs our pitchers in the past. Even struggling hitters like Rondell White have great ABs vs us.
  24. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ May 15, 2006 -> 12:49 AM) No I'm sick of being attacked by only one person on this board for what happened with me last year. Only one person brings it up at all. And it's him. I'm sick of it. Calling someone a jackass is hardly a personal attack. You just have to take a step back and realize that you have a reputation on this board. It seems hypocritical to start telling people how to act. Personally, I know that it's not my spot to tell people to be optimistic and to quit their b****ing.
  25. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 15, 2006 -> 12:47 AM) This team plays better against tough teams. We play down to our competition. Says who? We've played the Royals a lot this year, and even if they've won a few games, our record was definitely bolstered by playing them. 3 of our main pitchers haven't yet found their stuff from last season, and you begin to worry how much the pennant stretch took out of their arm.
