Pathetic last inning and a half. It's very disturbing that our bullpen already blew the lead in our first close game.

QUOTE(GoTribe @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) Nice K by Mota.. One more out now... This matchup scares.. Pods vs. Mota... What a game! Again, I honestly don't get this cheerleading one bit.

One thing I don't want to see is Logan pitching to more than 2 or 3 batters a game. Part of what has made him effective is his deception. Letting him go multiple innings yesterday gives the opposition a chance to get used to his delivery.
-
QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) Maybe Ozzie wanted to throw Logan right into the fire, to see what he's got in close games. Isn't that how Ozzie used Jenks when he was called up? World of difference between Jenks and Logan.
-
Hopefully Boone s***ting the bed in these situations will show Ozzie that he shouldn't be put into big situations yet. I too am not sure why we didn't keep McCarthy in.
-
Good job Ozzie! GMAFB

STOP GIVING UP OUTS IN FRONT OF OUR BIG GUYS! Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest.
-
What happened?
-
Pods...just the person you don't want up in that situation.
-
Great job by Contreras battling out of an inning with two infield singles.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 07:23 PM) No, I go to school with them. But this is why they don't matter anymore. They did before, but the argument died when we won it all. However it could come back if the Cubs were to make the playoffs and do something, which is why once October comes around I'd root against the Cubs if they still are alive. I completely agree with that stance, but I'd rather they just not make the playoffs at all. Thus, it's never too early for them to start losing, especially to pathetic pitching teams like the Reds.
-
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 07:22 PM) Why would my stance have changed since the last time we discussed this? Pods was awesome in the playoffs, which is the only thing that has happened since then. I was just wondering if there was a change of heart.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 07:20 PM) lol this Grady vs. Pods debate is funny. Cleveland had 2 better leadoff hitters on their roster alone than Pods last year. Don't worry, this was a legitimate debate on here last season.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 07:19 PM) I would rather them lose too, but I no longer pay attention. They mean nothing to me unless they make the playoffs, at which point I'd root against them lol. Do you work with annoying ass Cubs fans? If you do, then I think you know why I hate them even more.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 07:17 PM) Ehh they no longer matter. I'd rather they lose every game instead of win.
-
Time for the age old question....jphat, would you still rather have Pods than Sizemore as a leadoff hitter?
-
Indians have a great chance to score this inning. It already seems like our starters are having trouble getting our team back in the dugout after our offense scores.

CUBS LOSE!

QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 07:15 PM) yep, if ozuna has to play in the OF ozzie would have to get creative and shift anderson to right pods in CF and ozuna in left, that would defensively be the best situ. imo. i dont want to see that happen and i know ozzie has the brains not to do something like that If that ever happens, then our organization learned NOTHING last season. Pods should never play CF again, even in a slow-pitch softball league.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 07:11 PM) Jermaine Dye was removed from Wednesday's game after one inning with a strained left calf. Rob Mackowiak replaced him. If Dye's going to miss some time, the White Sox will go with a platoon of Mackowiak and Pablo Ozuna in right field. Apr. 5 - 2:44 pm et Ozuna might be the weakest right fielder in the history of baseball if he started there.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) The thing to remember about Cleveland is one of their big keys is what they got out of the bottom of their rotation in Byrd and Johnson, which on paper doesn't look very impressive, and we got to see neither this series. Not to mention that now Sabathia is going to be injured for a while, so we'll see how their rotation holds up. And of course their is also the issue of bullpen depth that they have (as do we of course). Most teams would love to have those two guys at the bottom of their rotation. Who's to say that they won't be better than our bottom 2 (possibly Garland and Garcia)?

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 06:58 PM) It appears we don't have much of a choice today. I don't know why anyone is surprised. This is the way that Ozzie manages...and he deserves the benefit of the doubt. How come I have a feeling like people will be jumping off the ledge if we lost 2 of our first 3 games?
-
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 06:57 PM) Indians are playing pretty good baseball. They're also a damn good team. Going into this year, they have just as good a chance as anyone in our division to win it. It will be interesting to see if their guys take another leap this year (like Perralta, Sizemore, etc.).
-
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 06:57 PM) Our lineup is getting owned right now by Lee. This isn't exactly a strong lineup vs lhp, especially with Dye out of the game.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 06:54 PM) Well, if it turns out to be something serious, I do have 2 decent sounding words: Ryan Sweeney. All I know is I don't want to see our benchers get overexposed by having to start too many games in a row. I'd have no problem if they called up Sweeney to see if he could provide some offense.
