  1. QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:11 AM) If uribe has to has a right hander i prefer it is a right hander that throws alot of fastballs... and what do you know, oswalt does. Oswalt's going to go with the offspeed pitch outside to Uribe, and bust him inside with the fastball. I also predict that AJP will get hbp in this game.
  2. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:08 AM) We're opening up the door? No. Maybe bad luck is opening up the door. If Rowand grounds into a medium type double play, then we waste an inning. As it was it was just bad luck. We're opening up the door because not only did they get the early lead (which every pundit said was vital in this game), but then bad luck or not, we fail to score after getting the first two runners on base. That's called leaving the door open for the Astros to get the upper hand early in this contest.
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:07 AM) Bah, can't really call that a bad inning, some bad luck no doubt, hopefully we can get to roy next inning.. JON GOING YARD. No, it was actually 4 straight good ABs by our hitters, just bad luck. Uribe isn't a very good match-up vs Oswalt, and his best chance of getting a hit is just sitting on a pitch.
  4. QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:07 AM) f***ing joe buck sounds so f***ing excited i f***ing hate him. I beg you....lay off the everyone hates the Sox theory tonight. Complain about something he says in relation to the game, but not the tone of his voice, etc.
  5. 3 runners reach, no runs. We're opening up the door wide open to take control of this game.
  6. QUOTE(toasty @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) roy isnt getting the outside corner either Considering there hasn't really been anything close by either pitcher that wasn't called, it's too early to say what the zone is.
  7. Did Buck just say that was a good pitch? The ball was in the dirt!
  8. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:02 AM) Unbelievable. Didn't that already happen once? Yes, in the Angels series.
  9. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:01 AM) take 1 Not a very good 2-0 swing.
  10. A bunt here will almost definitely end up with a force out at 3rd base w/PK's speed.
  11. That's the last first pitch fastball PK should see this series.
  12. QUOTE(toasty @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 12:55 AM) JG isnt really a big ground ball pitcher He isn't?
  13. Most of the time when I watch Berkman against the Cubs, it seems like he just destroys pitchers that aren't really strike out pitchers, and he struggles against good offspeed pitches set up by strong fastballs.
  14. Whew, that was a VERY hittable pitch that Ensberg didn't get up in the air. Hopefully Garland will settle down, because he doesn't have the stuff to pitch up like that at this field.
  15. Keep the ball down Jon!
  16. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) LOL. How the hell did he line that over there. Thats crazy bat control. Cause he's a damn good hitter, and he has a great opposite field swing as a lefty.
  17. Couldn't have asked for a worse start so far. Garland has to keep them at one.
  18. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 12:50 AM) Please pitch around Berkman He's now burned us 3 times with an open base. Memo to Ozzie: HE'S THEIR BEST PLAYER BY FAR!
  19. Even though they haven't been awful, I still hope our starting pitchers realize this isn't Chone and Vlad, etc. at the plate. They have to make good pitches to these Astros hitters, especially in big spots.
  20. Ugh, there crowd's going to be in the game if the Astros jump out in front. Garland can't be afraid to pitch inside, even with the short porch.
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) It's got nothing to do with having the $$.. but everything to do with not over paying. Paul is not worth $15 million a year to owners with a half a brain. I know, I was just pointing out that it was pretty silly to suggest he'd be more upset with losing Duque than he would if PK left.
  22. QUOTE(Irishsox1 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) Don't get me wrong, Paulie has been solid the last 2 years, but I would be a lot more devistated if any of our 6 starting pitchers left. We'll be able to fill in Paulie's spot, just ask Magglio. I think we'd manage just fine if we could get rid of Duque's 5 million, and use it to give more money to PK.
  23. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) I love him. Even if he doesn't have a place in our loaded outfield, he could end up being another valuable trade chip.
  24. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) Um, the Cubs will seriously overpay for him. Boston will go hard at him as well. They already have their closer in Dempster signed for 3 years.
  25. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) When Konerko hit that grand slam, neither Buck OR McCarver said anything for the next 5 minutes at ALL, even afterwards when Carl had hit a single. LMAO. I don't mind listening to Buck or McCarver, but they are obviously not exactly rooting for the Sox. And McCarver sometimes just goes ON AND ON about things. FWIW, the night before the WS began, Buck said on the radio that when a big moment happened for the home team, he was just going to be quiet and let the crowd speak for itself.
