Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 2
I'll take my chances with Berkman batting righty. I see that someone else thought that ball hit the security guard down the line.

I'll say this about the Astros: their approach at the plate thru the first two games is infinitely better than what the Angels showed.

That lead didn't last long.

I find it quite ironic that one of the worst statistical base runners in baseball was able to successfully steal against one of the hardest pitchers to steal against.

Way to come right back and get the momentum!!!

HORRIFIC BASE RUNNING BY ROWAND!

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 12:47 AM) Relax. Everyone else in the lineup is hitting fairly well. He has to come around soon If he was swinging well and making hard outs, then I'd say keep him in.

Another tremendous AB by Everett. He's the one player I can't wait to not have to watch bat next year.

QUOTE(Bhay99 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 12:45 AM) lets hope fox gets back from commercial before Carl is in the hole 0-2 Yeah, what the f*** is this, WCIU?

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 12:34 AM) Iguchi looks horrid right now. If the game is on the line in a key situation, Ozzie must consider a pinch hitter. Unless Iguchi shows that he has a chance to get a hit at the plate, Ozzie should strongly consider Willie in the game against Oswalt.

Royals snag LHP Bobby Madritsch off waivers
Madritsch needs surgery for a torn labrum, so maybe this wasn't such a dumb decision by the Mariners.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 03:21 AM) I like jenks but he scares me every single time he comes in. Imo, he will only be in the league for five-six years before he throws his arm out. I was being sarcastic about Jenks.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 03:19 AM) That might have been the best I have seen Jenks is a while. My god. Absolutely. Got ahead in the count, and snapped off that hook to Lane.

I can see now why BA has Jenks rated so low. He doesn't have a lot of movement on his fastball.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 03:14 AM) You would open up the hole on the left side, granted, with a left handed hitter It still would only let the runner get to 3rd on a single. When you're down by a run, you can't just let the other team get a RISP that easy.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 03:14 AM) No Tony, that is a big run. Even if it doesn;t manifest itself by becoming a 5-4 game, it changes the way Jenks pitches. He can challenge anybody with no remote fear with nobody on. He does not fear a solo homer now And Jason Lane is someone with a lot of power.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 03:12 AM) 2 outs, thats probably why Yeah, but you're just begging the runner to steal 2nd. I know it likely didn't matter on the Pods triple, it's still a pretty dumb baseball play.

Iguchi needs to get a bloop hit sometime soon to get him going.

Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 1
I have no clue why the Astros weren't holding on AJP. It's not like he would score on a double down the line anyways.

Pods is clutch? f*** yeah, great job Scotty!

Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 1
You have to love how Fox goes nuts over a very close play like Pods stealing vs the Angels, but McCarver shrugs it off on a blatant balk by Springer.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 02:59 AM) THat was the best thing I seen in my life, O' my god. Even though it was a sinking feeling knowing that a flare would give them the lead after the SB, that was a great little stretch. Hawk might have lost it if he was announcing.

If that wasn't Ricky Vaughn in MLB, I don't know what is!

Since I'm saying something negative, this defeats the jinx. This is a similar situation to that game where Jenks gave up the hit to Boone, and the Sox lost by one. Hopefully he learned from that game, and won't put the fastball down in the zone.
