Should Gooch be dropped in the lineup?
QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:58 PM) Why?? Because Iguchi has not looked good at the plate this series, and looked awful in the Angels series. Against the tough righty in Oswalt, I think Willie has a better chance to contribute to the offense. Will it happen? Not a chance in hell, and I'm fine with that.

Biggest homer in Chicago history?
Ha, I actually liked PK's homer more than Pods from a pure fan perspective because it was as clutch as can be by someone who's struggled for a long time in those situations. The Pods homer seemed more surreal, as even though he crushed it off the bat, you never know how the ball will travel off of his bat. Those two, along with Crede's walk-off vs the Indians, Frank's walk-off vs the Twins a few years ago, and CLee's walk-off slam vs the Cubs are my 5 favorite homers of all time.

Biggest homer in Chicago history?
Is it safe to say that Podsednik's homer was the biggest homer ever hit by a Chicago team?

Should Gooch be dropped in the lineup?
I personally would like to see Harris get the start at 2nd tomorrow night, but I can completely understand maintaining the same lineup with the way we've been playing.

Jenks
Also, Jenks seemed very nervous last night. He seemed to be talking to himself an awful lot, and he sure did short-arm that offspeed pitch to Bagwell.

Jenks
The main thing Jenks needs to improve upon to become a big time closer is his consistency from game to game. To have like a 4 mph dropoff from one game to the next is pretty major.

Quick tidbit about HBP
QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 03:37 AM) Scott Podsednik hit a walkoff homer and this is what you want to talk about? Go work for FOX. Wow, thanks for trying to ruin an actual thread that discusses an actual play in the game. There's plenty of other threads that are celebrating the win. Just as in Game 2 of the Angels series, there was a thread talking about the drop 3rd rule, etc.

Quick tidbit about HBP
Before the Astros b**** about Dye saying he got HBP, Lance Berkman did the same f***ing thing last year vs the Cubs. That was an even worse situation though, as he faked that it hit him in the head.

Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 2
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 03:31 AM) I cannot believe it. Podsednik goes yard. My 2 favorite home runs of all time come about an hour away from each other. If you read Rowand's lips when it was hit, I'm pretty sure he was saying "no way, no way"

Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 2
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 03:30 AM) Thats the biggest clutch hit by a Sox player all season with the momentum the other way off Brad f***ing Lidge. Pods says WHOSE CLUTCH NOW b****. SIZEMORE MORE AND YOU AND SSH CAN SUCK IT!!!!!!!!!! Dude, a ton of us our eating crow. Instead of playing the whole "I told you so", why not just be happy the Sox won for ALL OF US!

Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 2
Well, I bow down to Pods and Jphat!

Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 2
Time for homer or nothing ball. Uribe got some good pitches to hit there.

Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 2
QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 03:23 AM) It was accurate. Just not alot of strength. If it was thrown harder, but inaccurate, the same thing would have happened. Bottom line, a majority of outfielders in baseball throw the runner out in that situation.

Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 2
I still want to know why Rowand was seemingly playing Bagwell on the warning track?
-
Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 2
I even thought the Astros were going to hold the runner at 3rd.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 03:18 AM) Terrible throw? You are an embarassment to White Sox fans. It's not his fault his arm isn't very good. Yes, he just sucks all around on defense. The much maligned Manny on this site would have thrown him out with ease.

Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 2
QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 03:17 AM) you called it. I've seen enough Cubs games to know how he swings. Not quite sure why we just throw a basic fastball down the plate on first pitch.

Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 2
QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 03:17 AM) It was a nice throw.. Right on the f***ing money. He took a long time to get rid of it. He had the ball in shallow LF when Burke got to 3rd base.

Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 2
YOU f***ING SUCK PODS! How do you not throw out the runner there?
-
Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 2
Pods needs to play up a little, as Vizcaino will just slap it to LF.
-
Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 2
Big time squeeze on the last two pitches.

Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 2
Rowand was playing way, way too deep for Bagwell in that situation. He has no power anymore, and you don't need to try and take away the double.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 03:07 AM) This post season will always and forever be known for poor umpiring. Those questionable calls will be a slight cloud for a while but eventually the awesome baseball that this team is playing will come out on top. Since there's absolutely nothing, we as fans, can do about it, we just have to sit back and enjoy the moment.

Houston @ Sox - World Series Game 2
I wonder if Garner will ph Palmeiro for Bagwell. I don't think we ever got him out when he played for the Angels.

QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 03:03 AM) It was a ball anyway, so that still does not lead to PK's Grand Slam. Get Konerko out and there is no issue. Well, as you know, it wouldn't have been a ball due to the foul strike.
