QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 03:35 AM) this is random, but anyone happen to see the chick in the green top above sox dugout I appreciate a hot girl just as much as anyone....but I think I speak for everyone when I say: Not this again!

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 03:32 AM) Aj and Juan have really, really looked good the past few games, if they're starting to get themselves locked in to what they can do. Watch out. Uribe is such a difference maker when he's swinging the bat well. He's our most dangerous hitter when he's in a groove.

Sox @ Royals 7/25/05 Game Thread
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 03:28 AM) I'm not worried about that. Look -- if this team can't put a little bulls*** "curse" -- or, excuse, is what I should say -- behind them, and beat Oakland -- then they don't deserve a shot at the ALCS. I've been saying this for a while. That A's lineup is not spectacular at all. I'd rather face them in the playoffs than the Red Sox, Yankees or Angels. The A's also don't have a very deep bullpen in my mind either. Bring 'em on, I say.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 03:23 AM) Bingo that's what I said before on that night where people exploded on Contreras. Bobby's still going to have some growing pains and we're going to have to live with them. That's the beauty of it though, bring him in during games like this and let him work stuff out at the major league level. Much better giving jenks those two innings to develop instead of giving shingo them. Once Bobby harnasses everything he's going to be special. I completely agree with you. Some people think that he's the best pitcher ever. It's not like he had a 0.00 ERA in the minors. He'll have games where he looks amazing....and games where he struggles. And like you said, it's 100 times better to see him pitch than Shingo from a flat-out fun aspect.

37 hits in this game? You would think that Wade Miller was pitching?

Might be time to bring in Viz. Jenks is throwing a ton of pitches, and with his stellar body, he's got to be getting tired on this warm night. You could tell he was aiming his pitches before.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 03:16 AM) I really don't like John Buck. I haven't liked him ever since I first saw him. I don't mind him. He's been awful against the Sox this season, so I have no problem with him.

So, is AJ coming to the White Sox?
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 01:31 AM) for some reason there is a myth out there that says that the Sox have to sign him to an extension if he is traded. They don't. even if he doesn't sign right away here the sox are fine because it is similar to the garcia situation in that apparently burnett is friends with Ozzie. He was his coach in florida. The relationship that Garcia and Ozzie has was that they were basically family. AJB and Ozzie are friends.....but it's a whole different situation. It's been known for a while that AJB wanted to play on the east coast (Boston was always the team he wanted to get traded to). I personally don't think there's a chance in hell AJB would resign here.

QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 03:03 AM) maybe time to sit Pods and some of the guys and bring in the bench. Widger, Ozuna, Gload etc. Yep, I bet you'll see the benchers come into the game in the bottom of the 8th.

what a jag
Kevin Millar continues to act like a f***ing dips***. Wow, who would have ever guessed his numbers would go down once steroids were banned from the game? I was told a few years ago he was one of the biggest abusers in baseball.

The AJ Burnett 24 Hour Window Thread
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:51 AM) Not happening. From all we've heard, Contreras is out of the deal. Believe me, the Sox are in the catbird's seat here; the Marlins are in no position to make demands. Well, I trust Phil Rogers a lot more than Bruce Levine.
-
The AJ Burnett 24 Hour Window Thread
Well, most recent Phil Rogers column says it would be Contreras, Marte, and McCarthy for AJB. This would be a brutal, brutal trade for the Sox. Please say no KW!

The AJ Burnett 24 Hour Window Thread
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:45 AM) I think he gets between 8 and 10 million. We shall see what happens though. I GUARANTEE you he gets more than 8 mil per season.

The AJ Burnett 24 Hour Window Thread
If your AJB's agent, and the White Sox are offering you 3 yr 30 mil....you'd have to think the Yanks or Red Sox or another team would offer more money than that. Burnett is easily the most coveted FA on the market this offseason.

Poor Prior
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:40 AM) Welp, Neifi Perez hit a grandslam. That's f***ing pathetic. That was pretty f***ing cheap. And Joe Morgan is back to blowing another minority player....what a shocker. He's the most reverse racist baseball character I've ever listened to.

The AJ Burnett 24 Hour Window Thread
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:35 AM) I heard the same thing this morning on espn radio. Burnett has no interest in signing with us. Which means KW should get the f*** away from the phone when the Marlins call.

Poor Prior
Cardinals have their work cut out for them getting out of this inning without allowing a run.

Poor Prior
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:29 AM) Yeah, you tell that Albert Pujols how to hit major league pitching! Ha, good point. You can tell his shoulder is hurting. He normally has the best looking swing in baseball, but even Joe Morgan can notice the little change.
-
Poor Prior
That was one of the weaker ABs I've seen from Pujols in a while. With an open base and a 3-2 count, how do you not know the slider is coming?
-
Poor Prior
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:24 AM) This is just priceless. If the Cards come back and win this, the Cubbies and their scores of mindless fans are going to be demoralized. And they'll make that play at 2nd base seem like the worst call of all time.
-
Poor Prior
My heart dropped when the umpire didn't initially call Luna safe at home.

Poor Prior
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:21 AM) The Northsiders just got bent over. Anyone else watching the national game on ESPN? Wow. Bad call goes to the Cards on the "safe" call at second on Luna's steal. It was a close play. You're never going to get the call on a high tag like that. The umpire is looking for when the foot touches the base.
-
Poor Prior
What's the chances they pull him with "shoulder stiffness" or "elbow pain"?

Hermanson
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 12:27 AM) Jeez, take it easy on the guy. He never posts crap and he just happened to miss today's game. I think he's done enough in his time on this board to warrant a free pass here. STFU Milkman, you know I'm kidding. I've been worried about Hermanson for a while now, but he keeps doing the job. We have plenty of other closer options on the team right now.

Harold Reynolds
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 12:08 AM) While this would be good news, it is Harold Reynolds and its mostly crap that comes out of his mouth. Harold Reynolds has some massive connections in baseball. His brother is a big time agent, and I think Reynolds would have a pretty good feel for what's going on.
