  1. When he gets 2 strikes, he needs to stick with the splitter. 88 mph fastball isn't going to fool anyone.
  2. Absolutely awful. Hermanson has nothing on his pitches, you could tell from the second pitch on. Why didn't he throw his splitter? Lord knows that's been his most effective pitch this season. BRUTAL
  3. What's the chances there's another thread saying we need a closer after this inning? I'm nervous.
  4. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 01:26 AM) Is anyone getting worried about our offense? Yes, I am. But right now, if 2 is all we're going to score, we have to keep the Tigers to 1 run to win. Since you play to win the game, it's now up to our bullpen to get 3 outs and win this game. I firmly believe this is a very big game, due in fact to McCarthy pitching tomorrow and the Twins having such an easy week of games.
  5. Incredible job by Politte tonight against 4 very good hitters.
  6. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 01:19 AM) Watch out for Rondell here. He has some massive power. Yep, and always gets crucial hits against us.
  7. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 01:18 AM) Stewart with a 2 RBI double. 5-3 Twins. Predictable. Yeah, there was no reason for us to get our hopes up when KC tied the game. Not a chance in the world that KC can win a battle of the bullpens against the Twins.
  8. I'm anticipating a manifesto by southsideirish tonight about how Walker must be fired because all this team does is pull the baseball.
  9. Thomas actually put a good swing on that 2-2 pitch, but he's looked lost the entire night at the plate.
  10. Wow, Ozzie's pulling Buehrle after a 1-1 count on Inge. Not too often you see a manager leave a pitcher in for his pickoff move. Pretty smart idea, if you ask me.
  11. If the first base ump called him safe there, I was going to turn this game off.
  12. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:56 AM) IMO time to make this a 3 inning game with Cotts, Politte, Hermanson. Buehrle gave us 6, lets get the win for him. I agree with you, but you know Ozzie will keep Buehrle in. Doesn't Buehrle have like a 7 inning streak for games pitched? Or is it 6 innings? Anyways, that was one of our worst efforts in an inning this season.
  13. Good job by Buehrle getting out of that inning. I'm not so sure how long Ozzie will have him go. I'd imagine he'll pitch the 7th, but Ozzie should have someone ready in the pen in case he gets in trouble.
  14. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:48 AM) Has he ever had anyone on when hitting one out? Just wondering. 16 homers and 36 RBI are video game numbers.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:48 AM) Ealry release point...? I think you're definitely right. Everything is staying up and outside. Wow, Young just missed that.
  16. Wow, why is Cooper going out to the mound? I'm not a big fan of the pitching coach disrupting the flow of a pitcher mid-batter.
  17. Buehrle hasn't been overly sharp tonight. He's going to need a DP to get out of this inning.
  18. Konerko's absolute lack of range probably prevented him from having a play on that shank by White that went foul.
  19. I'm not sure if we've ever won when Hawk has made a comment like "ok Buehrle, there's your run.....now good luck". In the past, our pitcher usually got rocked after that statement.
  20. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:39 AM) I do think we should look at Randa. If for no other reason than to cock-block the Twinkies from getting him. Randa on the Twins might equate to the most difficult late inning out ever for the Sox. We never get Randa out late in the game, and Twins players are always tougher near the end of the game.
  21. I'm going to keep saying this tonight: SWING THE f***ING BAT!
  22. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:38 AM) That call was such bulls***, it wasn't even really that close, how you blow that is unreal. Yeah, there's been some tough calls against us tonight. Unlike in years past, I actually think we have a chance to overcome the call. In years past, there were times where we completely gave up if we got a bad call, etc. A perfect example was that Crede bulls*** HR foul call on a clearly fair homer in Baltimore.
  23. That ball was just crushed by Dye! Looks like Robertson tried to go inside one too many times. I still think his defense sucks though!
