  1. So many f***ing terrible ABs today by our big hitters.
  2. Cubs have opened up the door for us the last 3 innings, with the walks and hbp leading off the inning.
  3. Yep, it's OMIT to bat here. Thankfully we have such a stud on our bench.
  4. QUOTE(sin city sox fan @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) I'm ready for a 3 run walk off homer this inning Well, if Frank gets up with 2 men on base, he'll either hit a homer or make an out.
  5. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) Carl Everett. Ozzie will save Everett for a situation where a homer would tie or win the game.
  6. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) Dempster. He's converted approximately his last 10 saves. I have a feeling that OMIT will be batting for Ozuna.
  7. I'd have no problem if Cliff threw one at Ramirez's back right now.
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) Chill out guys, there are 162 games a year. Now I remember why I try to stay out of the game threads. Anyone that doesn't think these Cubs games aren't more important that nearly every other game during the season, they're kidding themselves. Even Hawk said it's his favorite series of the year. I'm much more concerned that any stud pitcher we face, they kick our ass.
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) BS call It was the right call, he caught it on a fly.
  10. Will someone please tell guys like Crede and Rowand that just cause you have two strikes, it doesn't mean you have to swing at every awful offspeed pitch in the dirt!
  11. This is just f***ing pathetic. AJP walked right into that routine DP.
  12. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) Marte walks first man he faces... nice job asshole. I've been thinking this for a while.....Is Marte the worst, best pitcher in baseball? Is there anyone else that looks as bad as he does, yet generally gets results well above league average?
  13. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) I thought yesterday was Corpseball until this game. Honestly, this is pathetic. Garland deserves better from our offense. I wouldn't be surprised to see this team enter a funk now. It's just terrible viewing this game. If we were to come back and win, I wouldn't change my attitude one bit. We're not going to continue to play terrible teams like KC every game where all we have to do is score 2 or more runs, and it's a likely win. I hate the balance that we have in this lineup today, with basically no power, but a lot of speed in the 9-1-2 guys, and the opposite for the rest of the hitters. I'd like to see a little more balance throughout the order.
  14. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) In front of a full house too. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. So I presume that inning is over? Yes, Rowand K'd after getting about 4 straight good pitches to hit.
  15. I was one of the people who was most against playing Everett in the field, but if Rowand continues to struggle vs RHP, I have no problem with Everett in LF, and Pods in CF against tough righties.
  16. This is the worst offensive performance of the year by the Sox this season easily.
  17. Well, we deserve to lose this game. Cubs are playing with more of a sense of urgency than we are, and all it took was one mistake by Garland and whoever called that stupid 0-2 pitch to put us in the hole.
  18. Should be 2 outs right now. AJP not only threw that ball awfully high to second, but he had no velocity on the throw either.
  19. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) Rowand is often ovematched by tough righthanded pitching it seems, Trevor Hoffman notwithstanding. Yeah, he needs to be batting 6th or 7th against RHP. I'm just thankful he's had those clutch hits against righties lately, like Hoffman, Sanchez, and Brazelban.
  20. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 08:29 PM) 69 pitches through 6? Sox don't deserve to win this ballgame with the flat out awful approach they've been using. Prior hasn't dominated anyone, he's thrown hittable pitches that are taken and good pitches that are swung at. I'm sick of watching this. A few of our hitters seem intimidated by Prior. Rowand looks like he wants to bail on any pitch that Prior throws.
  21. Seems like our hitters don't know that Prior was likely going to be on a pitch count today. Our wrong hitters are swinging at the first pitch, while hitters that should be swinging at 3-0 meatballs are taking those pitches. We've still yet to defeat a stud pitcher this season (thankfully there aren't many of them in the AL).
  22. I remember thinking last year after about 2 months that Santana wasn't as good as people thought he was going to be. However, as his arm strength improved during the course of the season, he was amazing. We all know that the Twins are likely going to be our main competition this entire season for the division, and they have enough talent to be a legit contender for the AL Central.
  23. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 05:22 AM) If you sneeze by super star in the nba they go to the free throw line. Just somethign that is apart of sports and always will be. Yes, but the big names in baseball gets preferential treatment also. Barry Bonds easily has the smallest strike zone in baseball. Guys like Pedro and Maddux are almost always going to have a bigger zone than rookies, etc. All we can hope is that someone like Buehrle begins to get the extra inch or so off the plate as his career goes on.
