Sox @ A's 4-27-05
QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) Poor pitch there. With 2 outs and a 3-2 count, you don't mind walking the A's 2nd best power source. It's ok though, we're going to have to score more than 1 run to win this game.

Come on Garcia. He needs to start getting the ball down, as he's gotten away with some meatballs up over the plate.

We have another 2 years of this buster Dye??? No wonder the A's fans were booing him last night.

3 double plays today in 4 innings.

Good AB by Everett. Hopefully PK will keep this ball off the ground though.

My satellite froze real quic, but was that as routine as it looked on the freeze frame?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) Yep. It was more of a puzzled question. I don't think we should be playing/defending for one run so early in the game. Oh well

Infield in?

QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) Why is Garcia trying to nip the corners against Scutaro? Why is Garcia's fastball 91 mph?

QUOTE(longshot7 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) well, this Saarloos dude is good at gettting the DP - or we're good at hitting into them. Grrr...... Exactly why we need to try some hit-and-runs, etc. We're playing too station-to-station, especially for a team that has hit one homer in 6 games now.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan13 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) Pods grounds into DP on a bulls*** call. Pods wasn't busting it out of box, which is the only reason it was close enough for the ump to call. I like Pods, but I notice he's not always running as hard as he should be on the bases. Hopefully it's just cause he's being cautious with the injury.

Question for anyone: When's the last time we tried a hit-and-run? Against a sinkerballer like Saarloos, you have to know A.J. is likely to hit into a DP.

Rowand is definitely seeing the ball better now. That 3-2 pitch is the same bulls*** slider he was whiffing on for the first few weeks of the season.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan13 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) Pop up to Jd. inning over, 1-0 sox Thought that ball was gone off the bat. Garcia's fastball doesn't seem to have a lot of zip on it so far, hopefully he'll get stronger as game goes on.

Dye caught the ball!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sox @ A's 4-27-05
Lets just be happy Garcia isn't an extreme sinker ball pitcher. I could just imagine what this would be like if Brandon Webb or Westbrook were pitching with this left side of the infield.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) Well, we have continued our streak....we have had the lead in all our games. Let's go Freddie. I love that statistic that the Sox have been in the lead every game this year.

Wow, I thought for a second there that Rowand was going to get injured crashing into the fence. I guess I'm a little gun-shy after the last few games.
-
Sox @ A's 4-27-05
Dye is now 1 for 15 with RISP. Ozzie, please lower him in the lineup.

Sox @ A's 4-27-05
Wow, good job by PK and Everett there. That's a great time for Cora to send the runners. If that was with no outs, then he's risking it.

Sox @ A's 4-27-05
Anyone else realize we have one homer in like the last 57 innings or so?
-
Sox @ A's 4-27-05
Good patience showed by Willie.

Iguchi is banged up. Gload is also banged up, which totally eliminates any idea of putting PK at 1b.

Today's Lineup
Well, at least the Uribe injury doesn't sound extremely serious. I have no problem if we lose this game today, but losing Uribe to the DL would have really hurt us.
