White Sox Loser
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 04:56 AM) This one by far. In 04 we had the injuries, we had the 5th starter by committee. We had that horrible stretch in August and Joe Borchard was our RF. I didnt expect to win then. I thought this year was going to be a cakewalk into the playoffs. I knew our O would be good, but I thought our pitching would show up. I never estimated how many bad moves Ozzie would make this year. well thats exactly why i asked the question......frustration doesn't only come from losing.....those injuries and 5th starter problems were horrible on my head....then i found soxtalk and had a place to vent.....I was also working a 3rd shift job at a factory that summer and had to get most of the final scores on headline news at 3am

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 04:43 AM) Here...we should settle this. Trade Garcia, Fields, and a few others for ARod, and then make him a SS next year. i'd do that in a second as long as we could get jow a long term deal.... PK-Gooch-AROD-Crede....WOW.....OOOOOOHHHHHHHHH PIPE DREAMS

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 04:42 AM) Oh absolutely, right now I'd take Joe as well. But I don't think Crede is, or ever will be, in the same league as A-rod. Thats basically what he said....which i have to agree....but of course me being stubbourn and the game tied 4-4 at that point i stuck with it as best that i could

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 04:37 AM) Are you sure about that? He sucks? Hmm....... I got into it with my Yankee friend yesterday....I told him I would rather have Joe Crede on my team right now then AROD.....he went apes***....

White Sox Loser
well i thought maybe if we could have pulled that out our season would be going in a different direction....now were in 3rd. If you would have told me at the begining of the season this team would be in 3rd place at some point i would have laughed very hard. I am not gonna give up on this team, we have all been in this situation before, its just different now after last season......God do I wish we were in the NL...haha not really but come on, 66-46 record and we are in third place...this might have to go as the most frustrating year I have ever been through.... Liriano getting hurt might be our savior

Reefer madness....
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:41 PM) Let me just point this out. The PD's along the Urban Corridor, where most of Colorado's population live, don't even bother enforcing possession of marijuana. Not worth the hassle. Only time people get cited is if they have LARGE quantities (like a brick or more), or if they were otherwise acting like a jackass and the cops felt like throwing the book at them. So for all intents and purposes, if you are just a consumer of cannabis, you aren't really in much danger of being caught anyway. This is true, but i believe if this can pass with as much authority as the Denver law last year it would be a huge step in the way this nation looks at marijuana. Yea people get worried because its a "gateway drug" which i believe is a bunch of hogwash unless you let your mind open up the gateway. I've done my share, and I don't want to go shoot up or do some blow...... QUOTE(samclemens @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 06:07 PM) i agree, i think there would be a huge spike in usage for quite some time I was told by a business professor that consumption of alcohol of 21-35 year olds has gone down since the 70s....he would always point out how his generation was a lot more fun then ours...he was a riot, gotta love the liberal CU professors...

Any run-in with yankees fans
QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 09:08 PM) the most annoying fan I encountered was a whitesox fan who sat a row behind me for a couple innings. she didn't have a clue about the game, referred to AJ as the "official team captain", was contemplating running on the field to take better pictures and was obnoxiously loud for a continuous amount of time the key word there....."SHE" not putting down any female baseball fans, but I would have to say the majority couldn't tell you what a walk off is...... Anyway I watched the game here at my place yesterday with my friend from long island. During the commercial before the bottom of the 9th he says "So we still got $5 on the sweep, i'll let you slide if I can bum a cig" So i told him f*** that take the cig....were still on..... He was rather suprised when we won it....
