I am following gameday. Did Crede go with a pitch and hit it hard?

I for one am glad the streak is over. I think Ozzie left Mark in to long last game and I don't know if the streak played any part. Giving up the streak for your teamates respect is better than any personal streak. Tossing him was bulls***, but now if we win this may go down as legend.

Harris Deals With Demotion
Rather than blasting the organization, he showed dissapointment. To me thats evidence of maturity.

Kris Honel
Looking forward to it and thanks.

White Sox preserve core at deadline...
I think the fact that none of the teams chasing us made a significant move shows that the few sellers were trying to rape the buyers. I am disapointed we don't have every great player available but I am happy that we wern't raped. The morale of the chasing teams has got to be lower by no additions than our group who seem to like each other. They see it as a vote of confidence. Those who seemed destined to go may relax and go on a streak. While Kenny was willing to trade McCarthy, there was no good option if any starter goes down or for next year. I was afraid of a Doyle Alexander for John Smoltz result.

Kris Honel
Did Kris give any indication why he lost the velocity in the first place and secondly how it came back?
-
Kris Honel
In the Meaux trade article it was noted that Honel was hitting the low 90's. If I am right that is the best he has done for us. Any info? Did he sustain his velocity? If he became a legitimate prospect again that would be great.

Rent a Players
Is anyone else pissed off that some guys sound like they don't want to come to a first place team. Burnett, who no one would have traded just McCarthy for after spring training, seems determined to be a free agent. Thats his right and perogative but I don't do any of the proposed deals if he doesn't sign for numbers in line with our other starting pitchers. It would destroy our salary structure to give him 10 million a year. What do you tell Garcia and Buehrle or Garland? I would be more inclined to trade Marte + a lesser prospect for Guardado.

Thankfully our offense has been better than Cleveland's. I would pull Marte. Let him have a good mental vibe from that return, we will need him down the stretch.

Absense of Gload equals no pinch runner for Konerko.

Marte did have rehab assignments so sharp shouldn't be an issue. If this is him our pen looks much better.

Baj
I need some help. I know Baj sometimes visits here so delete if this is inapropriate. Can I get a scouting report on him? Why is he bypassed for Jenks? I could rationalize for Walker as he is lefthanded but is there something else? Is this Kelly Wunsch again?

TRADE THREAD II ~ July 2 - July 8
I am worried about him in the cell. He is amazingly effective throwing "slop" when he is on.

The Gigantic all encompassing TRADE THREAD
We have the option of Contreras or El Duque vs others #4. Do you not think we could play the hot hand and gain some advantaage over other teams #4?

Love the numbers
You have got to love the numbers on the prospects. Pitchers are consitant 93-95 and touching 97. Then they get drafted and are 90. This is just like football where everyone is a 4.3 40 time and 4.6 when actually measured by the pros. Don't get me wrong, I hope we get a stud but it is such a crap shoot. The recent articles on previous drafts really show how much injury luck factors into the results. Rauch was a can't miss and now may be done as an example.
