Interesting of the recent draftees, our first rounder is below our second and third picks. I guess it is because of the risk of high school pitchers but considering Pallette is recovering from TJ and Cannon's ceiling is supposedly mid rotation, I am a bit surprised. Disappointed the high school arms have fallen so much though Thompson and Kelley doing better of late.

Trade rumors has a story about how to gain players post deadline. They mentioned independent leagues. Tyler Webb is in one. Decent at one point. Not sure what took him out but I don't think he can be worse than some of our AA-AAA junk we have been trotting out lately in bullpen games. Might be worth a flier and no acquisition cost. Not trying to be any kind of conspiracy theorist but he has never seemed right post Covid. I wonder if he isn't going to be one of the long term effect people. It would be interesting to know if there are definite differences in his performance data that we don't get but hopefully are being measured such as reaction times, acceleration rates, bat speeds. We can see only bigger picture things like BA, SO , HR. I still remember him in 2020 playoffs looking like he was going to cry after going first to home. I guess I would rather that than him not caring though not sure which might be easier to fix if either is issue.

17 YO Arnold Prado hitting .362 as a RF in DSL. Not sure if pedigree or not but pretty good for that age.(higher BA than Chapelli lol)

If you want to just get in the playoffs, we could have traded our only chips for something mediocre and snuck into the playoffs. But this team is going no where while its "best" players aren't hitting (Lynn and Gio aren't pitching either) and are also playing apathetic and stupid baseball. With apologies to Diekman, we did nothing. The players were just told "you don't deserve to be helped". Maybe this is the moment like in Major League (youngsters it's a great baseball comedy movie check it out ) where the players get pissed off and start playing baseball. The players should be pissed off but they need to hear it from somebody even if it wasn't said directly. You couldn't sell being three out but the way these guys are playing sucks. I was excited two-three years ago and now I get pissed off nightly. During a championship season you normally are pretty healthy or at least healthy for the playoffs and several guys have career years. No hitter is having a career year and pitching wise Cease is fulfilling his potential and Cueto drank from the fountain of youth. I will hope for the players to win and play better. I have stuck with this damn organization since the 70's. Play better, win, and at least raise your trade value for the off season.

Our guys have moved onto the list with their performance which is encouraging. Our young pitchers from last few drafts really struggled their first couple years though they seem to be improving. Not enough depth but I could see 3-4 of this years draft in our top 15 which will probably be needed post deadline.
