Ozzie doesn't want to add anyone...
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 06:48 PM) I love that I get s*** for hating on Peavy for talking stupid, but Oz saying EXACTLY what the f*** he is supposed to gets flamed here. Absolutly ridiculous, whats he supposed to say? "Yeah a few of these guys suck ass, we should go get someone. This team isn't good enough" This place is hilarious sometimes That's because Peavy said nothing stupid.

Ozzie doesn't want to add anyone...
QUOTE (WCSox @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 05:37 PM) A manager telling the press that he wants his GM to add to his roster suggests that he lacks confidence in his players. So of course Ozzie's going to tell the media that he doesn't want to add anybody. Really though, what's the guy going to say? He can't name underperforming players specifically and he's not going to publically state that he feels his team needs help. He has to show faith in his guys whether he believes it or not. The only thing that bothers me is that I think he believes it, he believed it in March and he believes it now. Though that really shouldn't matter.

Even if Ozzie's words mean nothing in the long run -- whether he's blowing smoke or really has no say in personnel -- it's still annoying to read quote such as these.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 04:34 PM) They need a rotation and with Hart and Weeks going good Prince could be moved for a pitcher. So then you're trading Danks, Buehrle or Floyd? If they're looking to compete and believe moving Prince for a starter would do that then they're going to look for a guy with some kind of success at the ML level.

Rios was forced to protect on that last slider with that incredible expanded zone. He didn't have much of a chance after strike 1.

Sox vs Cubs 6-27 game thread 1:05 first pitch
Amazing that he'd expand the zone like that when the f***ing guy couldn't get the ball over the plate. You almost NEVER see that.

He can't throw a strike.

Excellent swing by Gordon, hit that ball very hard. Salvaging the game for himself.

Nice AB for AJ. He went up there with a plan: the bat does not leave my shoulder.

1 IP, 2 H, 1 ER and he improves his stats.

Ugh. The worst pitcher in baseball strikes again.

Oh well, Randy Williams avoids his 3rd perfect outing of the season. He could allow another baserunner this inning and still lower his WHIP.

Sox vs Cubs 6-27 game thread 1:05 first pitch
This is shaping up to be Randy Williams' best outing of the season.

QUOTE (Real @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) Tony Pena is f***ing awesome yo Trash. At least attempt to be funny if you're going to act like a clown.

I really hate that we have 2 guys in the pen that we never use due to their utter incompetence, Tony Pena can't be working multiple innings in every outing.

They should just have Gene Honda do a spoken word version of God Bless America during the 7th inning stretch. I'm sure it would be stirring.

What a f***ing baby AJ is. f***ing throwing his helmet around in the dugout. Grow up.

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 03:09 PM) AJ couldn't look less comfortable at the plate right now. That ball was in his eyes. When he's going bad, he's going BAD.

I'm curious to see what AJ does if he strikes out here.

Teahen most likely out until after ASB at least
Vizquel also isn't as good of a hitter overall as he has shown during this hot streak. He's a very good defensive player but he's more of a .250/.310/.320/.630 hitter than the .315/.387/.426/.813 hitter we've seen over the past 3 weeks or so. That's just not good enough to carry as an everyday hitter in an AL lineup and that's the guy we'll see sometime soon.
