Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
I'm reading some comments from Sawks fans over at SOSH and they seemed convinced that KW is looking for a CF as the major piece in any trade. I find it interesting that this is what opposing team's fans seem to think this team is in need of right now. IMO if KW is strictly going by position when deciding which prospects to go after, OF should be near the middle of the list. You can always find OF in free agency especially this year.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
Seriously though. I've been a KW backer since his tenure began up until this very second. I have a ton of faith in him to do what's best for this team and I believe he's an excellent GM. However if KW f***s this up, I'm done with him. 1.) If the team Buehrle is traded to is given a 72 hour window in which to work out an extension I expect a TOP prospect as in the #1-#2 in the team's system to be included in the deal. NO MATTER WHAT. 2.) KW rushes this thing and ends up getting back what appears to be on the surface a less than ideal package of players for Mark Buehrle. If either of these 2 happens I expect KW to be fired immediately. He's done a damn good job since being hired as this team's GM but this is his biggest moment, he CAN NOT afford to f*** this one up. Kenny needs to come away from this thing looking great.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 05:01 PM) Ya, I'm calling BS on this one. Even though that guy on WSI is a fairly regular contributor, none of the Bosox forums have picked up on it. Nothing has been posted on Sons of Sam Horn about any of this. Just the usual speculative chatter.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 05:00 PM) With Ellsbury playing for Pawtucket, it doesn't look too promising. The game has yet to start however.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
Lets just say for the sake of argument that the Red Sox were given a 72 hour window to sign Buehrle to an extension. The Sox best be getting Bucholtz and a couple more major pieces back if this is the case. I don't buy it for a second but if it is true then I expect a King's Ransom of top flight talent to be on its way to Chicago right about now.

I think I say this on behalf of most of the people here...
QUOTE(Allsox @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 04:27 PM) If those two get traded, MArk Buehrle stays here Um, no.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 04:26 PM) Tickets are already paid for. The empty seats will speak a warning that if imrpovements are not made, the sea of empty seat will be back on the southside. Yeah, season tickets are paid for. I hope they sell out every game for the rest of the season. Empty seats will not do a damn thing to help this team in the future.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 04:21 PM) I hope they do not win another game the rest of the year and the park is empty for home games. Mgnt f***ed this season up. f*** that. I kind of like having a nice high payroll, home attendance is incredibly important.

Now we wait with cautious optimism.

Should be interesting if Buehrle is seen hugging teammates after the game.

Pawtucket plays at Louisville tonight at 5:15. Should be interesting to see if anyone is held out of the starting lineup or pulled during the game.

QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 03:24 PM) I said that I said it's dumb to swing 2-0. I didn't say that you said it's dumb to swing 2-0 95% of the time you're getting a fastball over the plate on 2-0 it's usually the best pitch to hit in the sequence.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 03:22 PM) Would you agree that Logan's loogy ability might be the best thing we've seen from the team this year? That and Josh Fields uncanny ability to miss every fastball by 3-4 inches.

I think Andy Gonzalez may have taken over as my most hated Sox player. Dude is everywhere when in reality he should be no where.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(southsida86 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 02:55 PM) BS. Buehrle left the first game against the Cubs with a 3-1 lead and runners on 1st and 2nd. They both scored. I'm sure that he has had more runs charged to him after he left the game countless other times this season. No you're right Buehrle is 2, Garland is 1. I did the research, a grand total of 2 inherited runners have scored for Buehrle this season and both came in the same game. Feel free to double check my work, you can go through gamelogs at baseballreference.com and check for yourself. Buehrle has a tendency to leave games after finishing out the inning, he doesn't leave a lot of runners on base once he's pulled. It's a false theory.

Crisp is guaranteed $11M over the next two seasons and hasn't shown even a mediocre batter's eye since 2005. I want no part of that.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(southsida86 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 02:14 PM) IMO if you make this trade Buchholz has to be involved. If this team had any sort of offense and any sort of bullpen then Buehrle would have about 9 wins and an ERA under 3 because of all of the inherited runners that the bullpen lets score. 1 inherited runner has scored this year.

A solution to this sliding team...
QUOTE(whitesox94 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 12:38 PM) Get Jack Wilson Why would KW want to downgrade the shortstop position? $14.35M guaranteed over the next two seasons for Juan Uribe's equal, fun.

Miscellaneous "White Sox" Trade Notes
QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 12:38 PM) Vazquez won't waive the no trade clause. The only No Trade protection Vazquez has is to 9 west coast teams.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 12:21 PM) trade him now. buchholz, garland, danks, floyd....someone else for 08 Garland will be traded before Javy, that much I'm sure of.

You could get plenty for Vazquez but Kenny's not dealing him unless he's overwhelmed.
