QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 11:19 PM) BTW, anyone check on WHarris1? I haven't seen any activity from him since they lost..... I'm pretty sure he buried a steak knife into the side of his neck around the time of the second Rex INT.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 11:17 PM) well hes 6'1". Not sure where you got that estimate. And there have been plenty of QB's with those characteristics in their first full season. In fact there was one who was pretty much counted out as a has been lat year, only to re-surface in New Orleans and play pretty good. But hey, height is everything. Well the 2 times I've met Rex in person we stood eye to eye and I'm about 6 feet tall, others such as Lawrence Holmes who spends a lot of time around Rex have stated that he is around 5'11"-6'0", it wouldn't be the first time an athlete was actually another height than he was listed. Drew Brees has something Rex doesn't, maneuverability/mobility and the ability to throw on the run with great accuracy.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 11:15 PM) Well for anyone to count him out like that is pretty short sighted. Most of the people on here count on BA to improve next year, why not Rex? He played more great games than any other QB in the league. He can only improve on that. BA atleast has the measurables and ability to, in theory, succeed at the major league level and he's also not the most important player on the field at all times like Rex.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 11:12 PM) Despite him huh? How many games did they win despite rex? 3? How many did they win because he played great? Do you not remember he was an MVP candidate to be early in the season? The team played well, especially without a couple of key guys on defense, and a developing offense. He should only improve next year. The one big question is, can he really improve on being 5'11"-6'0" and incredibly imobile with virtually no ability to escape the rush and frequent occasions of rushed throws brought on by panic. I really don't know and at this point I don't think so. Can you name another QB to have great success in the NFL who also had these same characteristics?

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 11:08 PM) Yet it was a game until the mid 4th quarter....... I don't put ANY blame on the D tonight. Any D is going to give up yards to the Colts, thats obvious. However, when your Offense can't get off the field fast enough, you are going to get warn down. 3 and outs. 3 and outs. 3 and outs. No defense should be on the field that long. The entire O was awful tonight(Jones had a solid performance tonight.) I just don't think these two teams were that far apart. In my mind, the Bears gave that game away. I agree with this in general. I do blame the defense though, my god was the tackling pathetic today, they got NO pass rush, Chris Harris got his ass kicked by Reggie Wayne for a 57 yard score that should never happen and Nate Vasher is still one of the worst tackling CBs I've ever seen. On a positive note Tillman had a pretty good game, can't say that for anyone else on defense really. The offense was just so dreadful tonight, there was no way the defense could have made up for that type of performance.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 10:31 PM) I am still not sure what to think of Rexy... time will tell, I guess. As one of the Sex Cannon's biggest fans and supporters I'm frankly done backing him. He wasn't the only reason the Bears got embarrassed today but his play was definitely a major reason for the collapse. The guy is short, slow, panics in the pocket and can't avoid the rush, he has a cannon, swagger and the confidence/respect of his teammates but I'm not sure the positives can ever outweigh the negatives with Rex. I'm prepared for another 30 or so year search for a QB. Hopefully Benson, a top flight special teams and a revamped defense can carry the team next year.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 10:09 PM) Kalapse: What does Urlacher suggest we put in place? What would you put in place? A standard 4-3 defense similar to that of the Eagles with hardcore blitz packages and man to man coverage on the outside, you can't run the cover 2 when your safeties are terrible in coverage. Rivera learned quite a bit under Jim Johnson when he was on the Eagles coaching staff and I really think he could make this defense unstoppable. I don't know what Urlacher likes but an Eagles style D would really emphasize his many talents.

QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 10:06 PM) They played like crap, but to say the disgraced the city is a joke. The team has improved in each of the 3 years Lovie has been here. NFC title, post season wins. He should get an extension. Who else are we gonna hire that would not cause the team to regress? The disgraced comment was tongue in cheek. Honestly, I just can't stand to watch this conservative mess for another season. I'd love to see Ron Rivera take over the Head coaching job. I HATE the cover 2.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 09:02 PM) Overrated no more. 2007 Super Bowl Champions! Enjoy it, if anyone had to beat the Bears I'm glad it was the Colts. I couldn't watch any of the post game because well it hurt pretty damn bad but I did enjoy seeing Manning celebrate.

The Bears as a team disgraced the city of Chicago today. If Jerry Jones is really interested, I'd love to have a couple 1st round draft picks. I'm just so f***ing sick of watching the cover 2, it seems the only person employed by the Bears that even wants to run the cover 2 is Lovie Smith and maybe Angelo I really don't know. Rivera doesn't care for the defense, all of the players not on the D-Line have spoke out on how they dislike it and one of the greatest players in Bears history, Brian Urlacher hates it because it takes away most all of his playmaking capabilities. I don't see why Lovie Smith deserves a contract extension at this point, I'm sure they'll lock him up in the coming weeks but if Jones does come a'knockin' Ted Phillips should grant him permission to talk. 2 first rounders is the asking price, that's what it cost the Bucs for Gruden and he didn't have Lovie's track record of success.

QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 09:37 PM) The first beer commerical, (i think it was for bud-light) where the two guys play paper scissors rock to see who gets the beer and the one guy throws a rock at the other. Yep Bud Light had the 2 best commercials tonight, the rock paper scissors one is #2 on my list behind the hitchhiker one. Man: Should we pick him up? Woman: He has an axe Man: But he has bud light Woman: And an axe Man: I'm sure there's a reason for it The garmin Power Rangers commercial was also pretty good in a ridiculously stupid sort of way. http://sports.aol.com/nfl/superbowlads

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 12:44 PM) And as far as the rain, I don't see that being much of a factor either way, with the way it's forecasted. Oh I agree with you, I don't really see it playing a major role in the outcome of the game. I'm just interested in how the CBS pregame crew will spin it into a negative for the Bears like the media has done with everything else this week.
-
Well it is raining, I really don't see how this could hurt the Bears but I'm sure Marble mouth, Marino and the gang will come up with something. It's funny how 2 weeks ago the matchup was considered somewhat even with the Colts holding an edge and 2 weeks later ESPN is touting this as one of the most lopsided Superbowl matchups ever.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 06:57 AM) I got a whopping 27 minutes of sleep last night. This game seriously needs to hurry up and start. Well that's a whole hell of a lot better than the 0 seconds I got last night.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 03:19 AM) Not a big rap guy by any means, but isn't Common a Chicago boy? Yes, I believe he and Kanye West just recorded a Bears fight song or something, it was on Deadspin but I didn't actually read it.
-
QUOTE(shipps @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 02:40 AM) Seen Smokin Aces which was entertaining but i havent a clue why it would get 3 1/2 stars. One thing i got of it though is Common might have a future in the whole acting career, although he is only in it briefly you dont watch him thinking hes a rapper trying to be an actor.Andre Benjamin and Common my favorite ractors. I actually thought Common was pretty decent as well, the movie might have sucked by he was pretty good.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 3, 2007 -> 11:42 PM) I am NEVER eating White Castle again. Good more deliciousness for the rest of us, White Castle after midnight is probably the greatest idea in fast food history. Yum.

QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 3, 2007 -> 12:48 AM) yes, the squirrel salt and pepper shaker was good. It was the only thing I really laughed at the whole episode. And it was a rabbit, named Bingo.
-
QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 1, 2007 -> 10:59 PM) i thought the episode was terrible, but that's just me. I'm leaning towards agreeing with you on this one, the janitor was the only real bright spot but not nearly funny enough to overshadow the rest of that mess. Quite possibly the worst episode they've ever done IMO.
-
Terrero is probably the most logical choice, I really don't see why Andy Gonzalez should be taking up a spot on the 40, Rogowski could finally be moved seeing as his only real future with the Sox is in Charlotte this could be a good time to finally cut ties with him. Oh and Podsednik.

Where's the party on Sunday?

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 04:31 PM) I guess I'm a loser, but for the SB, I am watching it with my dad. My GF is having a huge SB party at her house, but I just don't want to watch it with a bunch of people, and I know there are going to be alot of people not paying attention/other stuff going on. I want to sit on my ass, and watch every play. This is basically what I'll be doing on Sunday but not so much sitting more jumping, pacing and unnecessary yelling. I don't think I could fully get into it in any other environment. I'm crazy when watching football, vocal when watching basketball and incredibly subdued when watching baseball. -
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 1, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) Huh? ESPN internal memo:

So I assume these would be mooninites. Since they're known for flipping people off on the show it would make the most sense.
