  1. Cintron has looked GREAT defensively today. How the f*** did we get him for Baj?
  2. QUOTE(loltrain @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) I don't think it's obvious the White Sox are better position by position at all. We're better in LF, CF, and SS. You're better in RF, 1B, DH, and 3B. 2B and C is about even. Yes, you have a big advantage at 1B/Dh right now, but I'd say we have an equally big advantage in CF and SS. Pitching wise it's about equal, although I'lll give you the edge due to the experience and traditional success. Bullpen goes to us. I do think the White Sox are a more talented team right now, but it's not like you're 30 games better than us or something. It's certainly possible the Tigers will fade yes, but it's possible that ANY team will fade, it sure seems like your starters throw an awful lot of pitches and innings, who knows if they'll wear down? I'll admit the Tigers have a higher chance of fading out than the White Sox do, but it's not even close to a 'sure thing' like alot of the posters here seem to think, as I said earlier in the thread I can't comprehend why you guys want us to fail so much, if anyone should be jealous and paranoid it's us, after all you're the defending champs. Define "a lot". Damn, there's like 4 posters here who say over and over again that the Tigers will fade and all that jazz, that's a GREAT minority. The "stop hating on us" s*** is getting old. If there's really anyone on here who thinks the Tigers will disappear by the end of the year then they're just completely delusional and ignoring the numbers which prove overwhelmingly that the Tigers will not be going anywhere.
  3. Man, the rotation is gonna look way different next year without Garcia, Garland and Vazquez.
  4. QUOTE(beautox @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 07:03 PM) Ozzie Smith? Yep, appearantly Guillen was fired afterall, funny how ESPN always seems to break the news.
  5. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) Don't know if anyone was paying attention but did you see what happened to Wheeler at the end of the game? When he was walking back to the dugout after he gave up the winning hit to Cintron, someone kinda knocked into him then he just basically started cursing right at him. I found that hilarious also. It was some woman who appeared to be working for Fox, she was pulling up a chord that was on the ground outside the Astro's dugout. He wasn't paying attention and just walked into her then he turned around and started yelling more toward the field, he seemed upset but I don't think he was yelling at the woman he bumped into.
  6. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 05:50 PM) How dare you imply something like that! Haven't you gotten the memo -- the steroid age is over! (I'm kind of glad someone else is skeptical about Pujols.) You're really not looking hard enough if Sqwert is the only guy you can find.
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 04:56 PM) Let's compare the Tigers and Sox position by position, for s***s and giggles. FIRST OFF Catcher: AJ Pierzynski vs. Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez Push
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 04:31 PM) Rice Krispies Treats - solid. Red Solo Cup - also solid.
  9. QUOTE(Misplaced_Sox @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) When the Tigers do fade I dont wanna see any of you people now saying thay wont changing your tune. Sorry I cant see their pitching staff keeping it up. Define fade then give me a realistic win total for the year.
  10. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 03:30 PM) Do yourself a favor and get a life. 15+ posts/day is laughable. I bet you are the kid who got pushed around on the playground during recess, and now is using his all power "moderator" role to get revenge without having to deal with any consequences. It must be rewarding to hide behind the computer and act bad ass knowing you will never have to deal in person with any posters here. Haha, what's better a person who's "hiding behind his computer" telling others to ignore someone's posts because all he's doing is looking to start s*** or someone who attempts to make personal attacks at someone without ever even meeting them in person? OH BIG INTERNET BULLY PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!
  11. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 03:31 PM) Not Likely. Fading into second place, a lot more possible. There's a few people who continue to say the Tigers will "fade away" and that's what it seems the Tigers fans are harping on and it's starting to get annoying.
  12. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 03:27 PM) Perhaps we can divide ourselves into two categories: believers and non-believers. ... That's not very PC. ... Category 1. Detroit will go away, Category 2. Detroit will finish in second place, likely taking the Wild Card. Category 1 is probably the minority, as most people believe the Wild Card will come from the Central. "Fading away" could be interpretted in different ways. Fading Away - as in not being a threat to the Sox for the Divisional title this season.
  13. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 03:19 PM) I would have to say earlier in the season most of us thought the tigers were going to fade away, I saw a lot of comparisons to the Nats last year. I was one of them.....now after watching plenty of thier games I see they are for real and I believe most of us think so too...... and I think plenty of us used the "stop hating us card" last year....... The thing that bothers me is some people's obvious ignorance to the numbers. We're now 76 games into the season meaning there's 86 games remaining in the season, inorder to win 90 games the Tigers need to win only 39 more games, that means they can go 39-47 the rest of the way and still get to 90. In order for the Tigers to win 95 games they only need to play slightly above .500 ball the rest of the way at 44-42. If people really don't think the Tigers can go 44-42 in their final 86, they're kidding themselves.
  14. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 03:19 PM) green? Do yourself a favor and just ignore all his posts.
  15. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 03:10 PM) I'm pretty sure he was contrasting the two. I'm hoping that was the case but it wasn't entirely appearant to me when reading his post.
  16. I love how the minority opinion of Sox fans is being represented as the majority in this thread. The small portion of delusional Sox fans that for whatever reason believe the Tigers will soon fade away do not represent the majority of Sox fans with their comments, that however does not stop Tiger fans from playing this "stop hating on us card" when in all actuality their team is being preceived as a legitimate threat.
  17. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 02:07 PM) Does numbers mean crap playoff time. It's what you do when the time comes... ask Beltran and another New Yorker known as A-Rod. We'll find out once the playoffs start. So in your opinion Carlos Beltran is bad in the playoffs? Or are you saying he contrasts A-Rod?
  18. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 01:28 PM) There is no comparison, one is a Manager and one is a player. Simple minded people will keep using that statement, come up with somthing original. There is a comparison at its core, just because one is a manager and one is a player that doesn't mean there's no comparison. You hear very similar thing from both groups of Sox fans: 1.) I don't give a s*** what Manny says or does as long as he's hitting home runs. After all it's just Manny being Manny. 2.) I don't give a s*** what Ozzie says or does as long as the team is winning. After all it's just Ozzie being Ozzie. I'd say there's a similarity there.
  19. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 01:16 PM) You beat me to it.. dumb ass phrase.. lose it already. It's not going away, people use it everytime Ozzie makes an asinine comment inorder to play it down. I personally think it's great because it just strengthens my Manny Ramirez/Ozzie Guillen comparison.
  20. QUOTE(Hurons @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 01:19 PM) sure....but that takes nothing away of what Inge is doing. Yeah, but it doesn't make it the play of the year, unless it's the Tigers play of the year then have fun with that.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 01:07 PM) I would love to see the reaction of this board if Ozzie was the Tigers manager after this week of stupidity. I guarantee "classless organization" and "fire him now" would be uttered repeatedly. Sadly this is true, a whole hell of a lot of Sox fans are drinking the kool-aid right now and ignoring the situation simply because it's Ozzie being Ozzie and the team is winning. So hypocritical.
  22. QUOTE(Hurons @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 01:05 PM) You will see it and thus you wont doubt it. Incredible Did he charge a ball from second, stumble while fielding it, turn completely to his side then make the throw to first while parellell to the ground?
  23. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 12:59 PM) Without Ozzie, Kenny does not look like a genius. Ozzie has deflected numerous of bad trades Kenny has made, and made some his trade look very good, due to his managerial decisions. This should of been talked about face to face (maybe it was, I hoping) then come out and say it to the press. Nope, this is the sort of thing that needs to be said publically, the organization has taken a major hit this past week with Ozzie acting like a child. KW is just trying to restore some sort of credibility to the team. Who knows what he said to Ozzie in private, you all act like they don't talk off the field, for all you know KW and Ozzie discussed this before KW even did the interview.
