AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:51 PM) Yeah, punch him in the face for showing some balls and immediately getting on base after making a rare error and scoring the eventual winning run and letting Jose still get the win. Crede is a stud. I'm impressed he came right back and got on base instead of popping up. That is the sign of a gamer. He's not perfect ... shoot him. 7 errors is not rare.

ST Poll: Which position player is most deserving of being an All-Star?
QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) Jenks. IMO, he's not even an All-Star this season, depending of course on how many closers will be taken.

Crede
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:46 PM) How many different third baseman would you like right now, compared to the contract, age etc. that you have to factor in for Crede? I can only think of David Wright and maybe Ryan Zimmerman off the top of my head. Crede's hitting much better this season, and he's in a little bit of a slump on the field at the moment. Doesn't mean you should be jumping off a bridge saying how overrated he is. Miguel Cabrera.

Jenks seems to have come around.

Crede
QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:34 PM) Like his dropped foul popup against Boston last year? CLUTCH. Crede's defense is overvalued and does not deserve the level of respect he receives from Sox fans and announcers. Congrats on naming 2 plays that he's screwed up, do you have any idea how many s*** plays you get from other 3B around the league? A whole hell of a lot more than Crede. If you're going to critique the guy pick something else because the one thing you're not going to convince anyone of is that his defense is overrated.

Crede
If there's one player on this team who deserves a free pass on defense it's Joe Crede. He's saved countless runs in the past and has always been incredibly clutch defensively as well.

Message to Jim Thome
Jim Thome really needs to stop hitting these clutch HRs.

QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 07:48 PM) I'd hold off on calling it a BIG loss... just a loss will suffice. I mean, the guy is hitting .237 He's one of their more consistent power threats and he'll probably be replaced with Gomez in LF with DaMeatTree still on the DL they need Thames at DH. I'd say it's a big loss but that's just me.

It does not look like that ball would have gone out, it just kind of went through the glove.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 07:46 PM) Monroe will be out for a while. Yipes. That's a joint injury somewhere. It does look pretty bad, BIG loss for the Tiggers.

Hmm, if the Tigers lose Monroe . . .

2006 Soxtalk Fantasy Baseball
I'm in 2 Soxtalk leagues but if you need another active person for any league you're looking to put together I'd be more than willing to participate.

New roids story
Everyone goes for the regression after testing angle but that really doesn't fit when most players are probably smart enough to use HGH. Also when it comes down to a players looks, does Grimsley look like a juicer to anyone? I'm not going to go through that whole thread but I assume it escalated from there. I tend to stay out of anything involving Clemens simply because I dislike the guy so much. Also, I'm one of those people who hates steroid speculation and such simply because I think it's pointless and irresponsible not to mention it takes any fun out of baseball. That's also why this is such a momentus occation for me.

New roids story
QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 05:42 PM) Wasn't Jason Grimsley also the guy who tried to break into the umpire's room at Comiskey to replace Albert Belle's corked bat? If my memory serves me correctly (and I think it does), he was the guy on cleveland that was skinny enough to get into the air conditioning vent to try and steal the bat. what a cheater Yes, it was him. Just goes to show you how big of a scumbag this f*** has been his whole career.

New roids story
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 05:42 PM) Roger Clemens on steroids? HOW DARE YOU!! After all, when I suggested as much last week, everybody jumped on me. No way he could be doing something illegal!! :rolly 2 names in that thing are Clemens and Sosa, guaranteed just based on reading the affadavit. After that, who knows.....I can't wait to see what is behind that black marker though. When did you mention this and who jumped on you? Most everyone has speculated about Clemens and I don't see anyone jumping on you unless you worded it a certain way or your statement carried another meaning.

New roids story
Another great thing about this situation is the fact that Grimsley was taking and supplying HGH, the holy grail of performance enhancers to athletes and not just another steroid, it will be simply impossible for Fehr, Selig or any other f***tard with any affiliation to the game to ignore the glaring problem that is HGH use in baseball. This is the best thing to hit baseball since those 2 monstrous f***s hit all those HRs back in '98.

New roids story
When of the things I havn't heard mentioned is the fact that Grimsley, who is going to go down as probably the beginning of the end of this era is in fact a pitcher. After all the talk about Bonds, McGuire, Sosa and Giambi all these sluggers that have been mentioned and hardly any pitchers, what? Roger Clemems? It's amazing that the guy who will bring it all down is just some relief pitcher who's been hanging around for what seems like forever, jumping from team to team, making more and more contacts. Also, how long until we hear "GrimsleyGate"? You know it's bound to happen.

New roids story
It has now begun, Jeff Nelson has played the "you don't do that" card. You don't rat on the guys in the baseball fraternity? Come on Jeff, Jason cut himself a deal, he gives up the names and he's probably not going to see any jail time. You'd do the same damn thing if you were in his situation. The majority of baseball players are probably going to say similar things where you shouldn't be ratting on your fellow players. This whole thing is going to get incredibly ugly and I'm gonna love every minute of it. Changes will be comming and it's going to make for a more pure game, until of course the next thing comes around and the system is cheated again.

Sean Tracey Promoted; Cliff Politte to the DL
I think he's talking about your Hot Cotts Hot Wheels type sig.

Jermaine Dye
QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 04:41 PM) The thing I love is who is 7th on that list....we got a better rightfielder...FOR MUCH cheaper. CWSOX45 We save $10M having Dye in RF this year as opposed to Magglio.

Jermaine Dye
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 04:37 PM) That Rios kid isn't looking too shabby either. He's been dropping a bit of late though, he was up around Dye at one time, soon he'll be under 1.000. In the end only like 4 of these players will actually have OPS of 1.000 or more Pujols, Giambi, Thome and Hafner should be able to sustain all season.

Jermaine Dye
Top OPS in Baseball amongst qualified hitters RNK NAME POS HR RBI OPS 1.) Albert Pujols 1B 25 65 1.193 2.) Jason Giambi 1B 16 47 1.089 3.) Jim Thome DH 20 52 1.088 4.) New roids story
I don't give a s*** if they implicate numerous former or current White Sox players, I just really want to see some names thrown out there. This whole thing should lead to a blood test for HGH, Grimsley's situation should make the human growth hormone problem a major focal point.
