QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 07:57 AM) Clark's an interesting one. I remember he was in RF for a while when Pods was their CF, but he's better defensively than Scotty, with a much better arm IIRC (or at least that was the discussion we had going here a while back). The thing is with Clark he's hitting .282, but he only has an OPS of .716. Great OBP of .384 though. He's pretty much a Podsednik clone offensively minus the speed. I'd really like to take a chance on a guy like Church who has a +.800 OPS, and hits for better power. And I think those numbers would go up as he moves from RFK to the Cell. Yes, Brady Clark is quite good defensively in both RF/CF with a terrific arm. He'd be a great fit for the Sox right now, it's just more speed and OBP at the bottom of the lineup, he's been the Brewers leadoff hitter so it's really not fair to be looking at his SLG/OPS. He's not going to give you a ton of pop but he's going to hit singles, get on base and can run. Considering all the mashers the Sox have in the middle of the order, Clark would be a nice contrast at the bottom of the lineup.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 10:47 AM) Hahahah, comedy gold. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/spli...tting&year=2006 5-9. (one 2B, two HRs, 13 RBIs, two BBs) :shrugs: 2 things, that 1.833 OPS f***ing blows. and 2 why the f*** hadn't this been looked up earlier?

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 10:39 AM) I don't think you realize how much Pods, Mack, Ozuna, and Gload's defense would hurt this team in CF. This team is not going to live and die on the offense of the 9 place hitter, a rookie. When are you going to start calling for Uribe's head? He's the veteran, and he's just as bad. No matter how pathetic Anderson has been at the plate of late, his OBP is still 22 points higher than Uribe's.

Firday, April 21st. Jim Thome stands at the plate against Johan Santana, bottom of the 6th, scoreless tie, Tadahito Iguchi leads from first. Thome works the count to 3-1, gets a changeup out over the plate and hits a flyball to left center field. 2-0 Sox.

He's technically the best OF in the AL and depending on what you bank on the most, the best OF in baseball. I'm not really sure why you limited it to rightfielders. No other OF in baseball can touch his 1.074 OPS.

The great Kevin MILAAAAHHHH and Jeff Conine are currently patrolling first for the O's. I'm not sure what kind of value Rogo has but it can't be a whole hell of a lot.

Jose Valentin is having an epic defensive meltdown right now in the bottom of the 6th against the Dodgers.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 10:56 PM) lol Heads, I hope you weren't referring to me when you said Tampa not Tampa Bay. I was speaking of the University of Tampa's pitchers having low era's. Gage's write up on Lee Cruz:

Aren't the Dodgers kind of spoken for?

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) Maybe try this thread? All I meant was, is there any evidence the Sox or looking to acquire Griffey, or just evidence that Rozner was desperate for column inches? There's no indication what so ever that the Sox are looking at Griffey and even less evidence that the Reds are looking to move him.

Surprisingly Felix is up 2-1 on Liriano.

JI JIM THOME WAS 19-41 W/ A 1.693 OPS W/ RISP COMMING INTO THE GAME. 1.095 OPS W/ RISP + 2 OUTS. JEAN JACKETS ARE A FORCE OF NATURE.

Boyle and Melton are seriously jerkasses. They claim Bobby Jenks is an All-Star Closer and will be going to Pittsburgh in July. As of right now Bobby Jenks is not worthy of a roster spot IMO. Last year the AL team carried 5 closers (2 due to being required team rep) Papelbon, Ryan, Rivera, Nathan, Ray and Wickman are all having better seasons. Especially the first 3. If Bobby continues to string together these outstanding outings then yeah, he's got a damn good shot but as of right now, I think he's on the outside looking in.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 10:12 PM) Well personally it wouldn't matter to me if he had to sit out a couple of weeks simply because Anderson would get a shot to develop while Griffey rests. For me, it makes too much sense to get him, which is why we won't. Considering the way our farm system currently is, I'd say Anderson would probably be the a main piece of any Griffey trade. Well, either him of McCarthy. So Brian would be developing for the Reds while Griffey sits on the DL for the Sox.

"leaded" and "unleaded" coffee pots, now that's humorous.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) He didn't tear anything last year. He did however pull something which is why he missed almost an entire month last season. Hell, he only played 8 games in April this year due to injury, I love the guy as much as anyone on here but there's no way he stays healthy for the rest of the season, the odds are greatly against him.
-
He got on base 5 times today, to bad he really couldn't play CF for the rest of the season without tearing something.
-
Alex Cintron is now officially a White Sox. McCarthy looked amazing. Dye, ungodly as usual. Jenks is unhittable right now.

QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 09:22 PM) I don't have that much time on my hands to stuff a gazillion ballots. Yet you found the time to make this very informative post. Congrats.

QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 09:25 PM) IIRC, his agent is Boras. This is true, Scott Boras is his agent, this however would not be a major problem until after the '07 season when he becomes a free agent. Of course there is always his last year of arbitration which is upcomming after '06.

Um, I was listening to the DP show and this was never said. All that was stated was that Griffey might go on the block later next month once the Reds are out of it and if the Reds could get 3 blue chip prospects for Griff it would be a whole hell of a lot easier to sell it to the fans. Neither of Patrick or Oberman said that JR had any interest, simply that if he became available they could see the Sox having interest. Also, you can see the credibility Dan Patrick carries with him, there ain't a chance in hell the Reds get 3 big time prospects for him. Just one more thing to add to the shredded credibility of DP and Keith Oberman, Oberman stated that the Sox have a pretty deep system and would have the big time prospects necessary to land Griffey.
