  1. HEY! A MOTHER f***ING HIT! OH NOES! AJ with a RISP, inning over.
  2. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) My main question is how the Garland apologists can defend a 6+ era now that its June? Just wondering. He had 2 good outings in the playoffs last year, leave him alone you bully.
  3. Come on Ian, you're better than that.
  4. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 08:06 PM) Can Garland pitch a game without giving up a HR :puke Actually he's pitched 2.
  5. QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 08:04 PM) Interesting stat here on Maggs. First stolen base since September 2003. And yet JD has 3.
  6. Brad Wilkerson is an ugly son of a b****.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 06:37 PM) I like the 2nd one minus the shadow. Gotta agree, I think something like this would look pretty damn good.
  8. Why the f*** would the Sox be on CLTV+ when they're at home and are capable of producing an HD feed? While the Cubs are in St. Louis and will be taking up the CSNHD for whatever dumbass reason.
  9. QUOTE(Felix @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 06:32 PM) Where did you hear this? Mac, Jerko and Harry just mentioned it.
  10. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 06:02 PM) *sigh* can we stop this already?? Funny how we didn't hear it much at the beginning of last year. Maybe if he actually pitched worth a damn you wouldn't be hearing the joke constantly. THOME IS OUT TONIGHT! Gload is in at 1B, Kong at DH. he is day to day with a tweaked groin
  11. QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 06:13 PM) If Ozzie is worried about Anderson and sees the need to platoon, so am I. You can't have a starting cf on a world title contender hit under .200. He and Uribe both hitting terribly hurts our team. You can't just leave them both in there and think 2 automatic outs won't cost us many games. It's platoon time for Anderson and Uribe is probably close to that, also. Hopefully our experience will pay off and we'll dominate in Aug and Sept. I've heard this a few times and I'm wondering who exactly made this rule up. If the guy is playing sick defense and the rest of the lineup 1-7 is producing the way they have been then you get Uribe going, I don't see any problem with Anderson playing out there even if he doesn't hit .200.
  12. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 05:38 PM) its funny you mention Prior there was this huge debate back then that the twins were making the wrong choice in drafting Joe Mauer. Back then, the pitching staff was not as deep as it is now, and Prior was more 'major league' ready And now the Twins will have one of the best rotations in baseaball with probably the best 1-2 punch around and probably the best catcher in baseball while Prior sits on the DL with another unknown injury for the Cubs.
  13. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 05:37 PM) I agree. We're going to have a difficult time winning a division this competitive with our current bullpen. Kenny's going to have to make a move or two. See the thing is, I'm not even advocating a trade at this point in time. I'm all for letting some time pass and getting closer to July 31st and see if these current guys can maybe turn it around or simply show more consistancy. If the bullpen is the same near the middle/end of July that it is right now I'll be all for a trade. Unless of course Lidge becomes available anytime soon, then I'm all for giving up some talent for his shutdown ass.
  14. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 05:36 PM) Myspace has to be the biggest waste of space on the internet. ^^ First time I've ever agreed with you.
  15. QUOTE(PlunketChris @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 05:32 PM) OH.. so NOW is when we all jump off the cliff. Chill out, gaps happen, everyone has their spurts of poor play. there's 162 games in the season, winning them all won't happen... it will never happen. Until then, let's try to change everything EVERY TIME WE LOSE... One of the few reasons this conversation is happening is because Detroit is in first place, and not the White Sox. They'll be fine, I have confidence that Detroit can't continue playing well above their potential. And we'll swoop in and maintain our championship status. The "everything is going to be fine" approach doesn't work when a team's glaring weaknesses are so appearant as they are for the Sox right now. I am willing to look the other way on CF and to a lesser degree SS (though I badly want Cintron in there). I am not one to jump off a cliff every time the Sox lose, I just get concerned when the bullpen proves time and time again that they are not going to be able to pitch anywhere near the way they pitched last year. It's not pessimism or freaking out, it's concern.
  16. QUOTE(Felix @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) So you didn't watch the game last night I guess? Before last night Thorntion had gone 8 straight outings without allowing a run. He was pitching great up until last night. So his last 2 games out there were pretty good.
  17. Why is it everytime I see Anderson's name in there I smile? I just love it when he plays, maybe it's because I don't have to worry about the OF defense for a game.
  18. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 04:47 PM) Maybe that is the move. Izturis takes over SS and Uribe to CF? Seems ludicrous to me, but didn't Uribe used to play CF or come up as a CFer with the Rocks? What exactly would that accomplish? It would weaken our offense and defense all in one dumbass move. FUN!
  19. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) Who can match Hermanson's 0.82 ERA? What about Politte's 1.77 ERA? Heck even Damaso had an ERA of 2.29.... Can't, hey I think the pen sucks right now too. I was just pointing out a flaw in his logic.
  20. Flawed logic is a b****. Last year through May: Cotts: 3.38 Vs 3.22 now Vizcaino: 6.46 Vs 5.28 of McCarthy Shingo: 5.97 Vs 3.80 Jenks now You can't use full season stats for one and only 2 months for the other, it makes absolutely no sense.
  21. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 01:40 PM) I disagree with the story line on this game. "Promising start by Jon Garland." He gave up three homeruns in that game and still won. You can't keep giving up the long ball like Jon does and win regularly. I hope for the best and think Jon can come around, but I don't see the consistency yet. Well, for a few innings there in that game he looked like the Garland of '05. It didn't last long but it was most definately there. So we know he has the ability to pitch like he did last year, he just needs to harness this ability and learn to pitch that way on a more consistent basis.
  22. QUOTE(Big Hurtin @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 11:14 AM) Philly? Seattle actually.
  23. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:52 AM) I would think that a decent right handed relief pitcher would not be that hard to acquire at the deadline, no? Also, is Hermanson still a possibility? I wouldn't count on getting anything out of him this year.
  24. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:44 AM) Fine, Politte doesn't quite have it, but I don't think that's 100% of the problem. Are we going to spend three pages nitpicking about a right handed relief pitcher or are we going to examine other issues as well? It's real hard to have a successful bullpen when you don't have a single reliable right handed reliever. I'd say that's a huge part of the problem and mentioning it should not be considered "nitpicking". Politte's last 5 outings have been real bad, it's not a good sign, the one thing this team is in need of more than anything is a righty out of the pen who can get a guy out every once and a while.
