  1. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:40 AM) His numbers are trending downward since a really bad april. I'm not talking about numbers, have you seen him pitch at all? Inherited runners scoring don't count onto your ERA and his WHIP went up from 1.70 to 1.92 for MAY, that's not a good sign at all.
  2. Wait, have you seen Politte pitch at all this year? He's been absolutely horrid, I'm not sure if he's even managed to strand an inherited runner all year.
  3. Not the most vintage sig I have but it really is one of my favorites.
  4. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 12:09 AM) . f***ing.awesome
  5. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) Is that Brad Lidge witha sox hat on in your sig. It looks a helluva lot like him if its not him.(to me at least) Yes, yes it is.
  6. If there were any way he could get his OPS up to 1.000 again, it would look so damn good on his resume when he retires. That's a club with only 10 members right now with one of them not counting (Helton, 1.036) so in my mind he would be one of 10 players to have an OPS of 1000 or higher for his career. Amazing company.
  7. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 11:15 PM) I didnt see it becaue I listen to the games on the radio but the Twins have been shutout 7 times this year and have yet to shut out an oppenent Hey, atleast Mauer, Liriano and Santana are great. Seriously, the Twins have the best battery in baseball when Francisco or Johan are on the mound. There are some serious brightspots for your 4th place team.
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 11:10 PM) Yeah he's having a really good year, so I believe it. Just saying that moreso Patterson is doing up to his potential in Baltimore, but the Cubs had to dump him for nothing to get a guy with a .270's on base, no power, no arm, and a 6 million dollar salary (in a contract year)....and had to give up 3 high prospects to get him. Just amazing, he'd have never done this with the Cubs, which is more amazing as to how bad they are with young guys. s*** like this, not a "goat", is why they don't win. And why were you so nice there Kalapse? Something wrong? You should have said "Patterson's OPS is 154 points lower you dumbass". You have to be a smarass/dick sparingly or it loses it's effect.
  9. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 10:55 PM) I've long thought that Jason Bay is the most underrated player in baseball. He got some pub for the streak of six games with a home run, but mainly flies under the radar. I guess that's what playing for the Pirates will do to you. He has 17 HR's and an OPS over 1.000, yet isn't in the top 15 in all-star voting and trails such players as Juan Pierre and So Taguchi. Huge fan of Bay, he was also 21/22 last year in SB attempt which is just ridiculous especially for a guy like him.
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 10:51 PM) 20 for 21 in steals? That's Carlos Beltran s*** right there, hell he's putting up better than Beltran numbers overall (and yes I know he's also having a very good year) for about 1/10th the price this year in Baltimore. Patterson's OPS is 154 points lower . . . just throwing it out there.
  11. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) They did have Mauer waiting in the wings too; that's got to be taken into consideration. IMO, it was a very similar situation to what the Phillies did last year and if I was a fan of either team in either situation I'd be all for a trade. I mean hell, Joe Mauer is pretty much the best catcher in baseball right now and Ryan Howard is one of the best sluggers in the league.
  12. QUOTE(Random @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) is he even part of the orginization anymore? I believe he's sucking ass for the Columbus Clippers right about now.
  13. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) So I guess its good to have absolutely no faith in Garland. Yeah he has sucked a lot, but you gotta support him even if he is facing a team like the Rangers. Why do you have to support a sucky pitcher? I understand that he was pretty good last year and all. He played a large part in a WS championship but if he's going to suck most every start this year, I'm not going to back a loser.
  14. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 10:18 PM) fyi, Frank Thomas hit a home run off Boof Bonser tonight 1-0 A's over Twins in the middle 6th inning Did you see the way he cleared his hips and launched the ball into the left field stands? What a little b****.
  15. QUOTE(Random @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:49 PM) did you just make that? That is humorous.
  16. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 10:06 PM) I like how you're rooting for your team there. Hoping and expecting are 2 totally different things.
  17. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) Is McCarthy still untradeable? Yes.
  18. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:59 PM) Who is accepting it? We all know damn well Kenny isn't... Well, if you're not allowed to discuss it without being ridiculed then I guess that constitutes accepting it simply because there aren't many other courses of action to take.
  19. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:48 PM) Dep's work gets no love. :rolly
  20. QUOTE(Random @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) what about retrieving the rally crede???? That's for mega slumps, this is only a small slump. It's not realy worthy.
  21. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:41 PM) They are playing f***ing horrendous, but even Eck didn't save every game. I'm really not concerned, it's a long season and players are either peaking, getting top peaking, or slumping. Brace yourself but Dye will have a terrible week or two, as will Thome, and everyone else. It's the nature of sports. Thome and Dye have already had horrible weeks, Dye just got out of one. The guys in the pen on the other hand have been doing this pretty much all season. That's a 2 month slump
  22. Ok, I disagreed with the Bullpen thread being a "jump off the bridge" type dealy but his one fits the description.
  23. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:26 PM) Way to edit that one in... It was already there, I edited his OPS to 1.074 to reflect what it currently stands at. I'm pretty sure you're the only one to not see it in there to start. Also, notice how the edit came before you even said anything.
  24. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) Excellent post and I definitely agree. You forgot to talk about how reliable he is defensively. He WILL be an All-Star this year. World Series MVP...the guy can hit.
  25. Appearantly the bullpen isn't a problem, it's all Politte he's just making them look bad. SS and CF are the real problems. This bullpen needs to be repaired and sooner rather than later.
