  1. QUOTE(SoxAce @ May 21, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) And yet you have Rancid (one of the most annoying bands I've ever heard) in your sig.. You are a very odd creature. And yet you listen/listened to Linkin Park one of the most overrated and annoying bands I've ever heard. Hmm . . .
  2. The Whopper family s*** is incredibly f***ing annoying. I don't need giant annoying cheeseburgers talking to me.
  3. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 21, 2006 -> 11:04 PM) http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews...cs/14626874.htm Frank and AJ hanging out, scary. Frank and Garland hanging out, awkward.
  4. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ May 21, 2006 -> 10:45 PM) yea kruk said tonight on BBTN that since he was a free agent why would he leave cleveland to go to a horrible team like KC...makes no sense I really don't think Cleveland wanted him back and I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that he did not receive any other legitimate offers. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 21, 2006 -> 10:44 PM) He had to know that going in, didn't he? Perhaps he thought a team with some decent young talent and solid veteran leadership would atleast attempt to win some games, even if they ended up sucking horribly they would atleast put forth some effort.
  5. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 21, 2006 -> 10:57 PM) Which begs the question, Did Lee get ejected? No and I believe it's different simply because MLB has a rule in place stating that a player whom is not on the 25 man roster can not go on the field.
  6. QUOTE(bmags @ May 21, 2006 -> 10:48 PM) whoa whoa whoa whoa hold up... hold up... why the hell did i have the cubs announcers for the whole game? Even further proof that you suck.
  7. Scott Elarton was close to tears after the game today, he stated the obviously saying that the team is horrible in every facit of the game and it seems that no one in the clubhouse really cares about winning. I actually felt sorry for the guy, go figure.
  8. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 21, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) No. I admire his style. He speaks his mind to the fullest, which is always flip-flopping, and he ignores critics. You know poeple have been giving him hell for 15 years and he hasn't backed down. That's why I admire him. I don't admire the content of his work, however, I admire his style, one I want to emulate The funny thing about him is that he does not speak his mind at all, he actually takes the exact opposite side of what everyone thinks is correct on purpose so people will read his column either to rip him for being a dumb ass or for "speaking his mind" as some actually think he believes the s*** he writes. Either way the Sun-Times does sell papers and a whole lot of people sure do talk about his column, so it must be working for him.
  9. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 21, 2006 -> 09:18 PM) Why Hawk even bothers to read Moronotti is beside me. They should just slug it out. I'm one of the few people here who likes Mariotti more than Hawk. Mariotti's style is actually pretty nice, and the one I want to emualte, just the content is bad. Hawk is just very annoying on the air. Mariotti rips on the Cubs, that is why you like him.
  10. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 21, 2006 -> 07:46 PM) So? They're going to lose a roster spot when Barrett is suspended. I would think Barrett would at least appeal his suspension so he can play until Lee returns That would be one long ass appeal, Lee will be on the DL for quite sometime still. Mabry will more than likely appeal but I doubt Barrett will.
  11. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 21, 2006 -> 07:38 PM) Nor should he. Cubs will merely deactivate him from the DL five days before his intended return. Won't hurt anyone. Exactly, I doubt anyone will fault him for getting suspended, though it will force the Cubs to be a man short on the bench.
  12. If you're on the DL you can not run out onto the field, appearantly Derek Lee did not know this/care.
  13. The playoffs are overrated anyway.
  14. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 21, 2006 -> 06:52 PM) While we play .500 ball against the lousy Twins, D-Rays, and Cubs in the last week or so they are kicking ass and taking names. Plus they play Kansas City next. And yet the Sox are only a game back.
  15. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 21, 2006 -> 06:42 PM) Hopefully Crede isn't becoming the old Crede at the plate. Kind of a no-show the last week or so at the plate. Crede is currently 1 for his last 18 with 2 Ks over that span. This is over the course of 5 games dating back to May 16th and his batting average has dropped 32 points during this slump.
  16. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 21, 2006 -> 06:22 PM) Here comes all the bashers since he does not have a link..... This isn't totally different or anything. :rolly
  17. QUOTE(Allsox @ May 21, 2006 -> 06:03 PM) I'm so disappointed in Sox fans with this thread. Uribe makes one bad play today and all of a sudden, he sucks now?!?!? I didn't think people needed a reminder of how clutch this guy was in the World Series but since it's the stupid Cubs series, I guess some people still invest more emotion in it and that's pretty sad Have you checked his offensive production lately, he's been pretty pathetic at the plate the whole series. His inability to hit Zambrano today just added to the frustration that many have had with him. Also his inability to turn a double play did not help his case. You have to remember just because a player was good during the World Series does not mean they get a free pass for life, this is a whole new season and Uribe has yet to do anything this year.
  18. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 21, 2006 -> 05:38 PM) I am sorry to not meet your request, but I had a suggestion. Perhaps "applause" should be added to the list? For this Cheer = Applause. I didn't see a need to get technical with the choices.
  19. This poll is not for discussing Thomas, this is an opinion poll that I am interested in seeing the results to, if you want to talk about him do it in the other thread. Since I don't see a vote only option prohibiting discussion, I ask that noone post in this thread. I really don't want to see it turn out like every other.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ May 21, 2006 -> 04:30 PM) He's sucked this season. His defense has been nowhere near as good as it was last year. He's one of the worst hitters in all of baseball. I don't even want to think what his numbers would be if not for that 2 homer game against the Twins. Sorry, G: 34 AB: 121 R: 8 H: 23 2B: 4 3B: 1 HR: 1 RBI: 9 TB: 31 BB: 6 SO: 25 SB: 0 CS: 1 OBP: .224 SLG: .256 AVG: .190 OPS: .480
  21. QUOTE(MayIHelpYouMrLennon? @ May 21, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) You couldve said at the start of the season that McCarthy would've been a huge guy out of hte BP (even w/ his 5.38 or w/e it is ERA) and that Cotts and Politte would retain form. I want to be able to have our pitchers go 7 inning and be up by 2 w/o having thier lead have a pretty decent chance of getting blown and if it means losing McCarthy, then so be it. If McCarthy is what you guys make him out to be, arent you going to be somewhat excited at what we can garner in a trade for him? Absolutely not, you'd never get fair value for him. He's incredibly valuable seeing how he only has 1 year under his belt and has already had great success in the bigs. The guy will be ultra cheap for quite awhile and will more than likely be very successful throughout that time.
  22. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 21, 2006 -> 04:03 PM) I'm really sick of it. But hopefully this passes after the first half of the week is over. You don't really believe that, do you? It's been going on since he first opened his mouth and has been consistantly discussed throughout this whole time. This s*** won't end until he retires.
  23. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 21, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) So you're suggesting we trade Contreras? For howry and eyre??? Damn you're good, you saw through the nonsense I posted and got to the true meaning of what I was trying to say. Well done Howry and Eyre would make this pen unstoppable and add to the already amazing chemistry. Contreras is old and washed up (couldn't even get the win today, 4 R, pathetic) the Cubs could use another worthless arm like him.
  24. QUOTE(MayIHelpYouMrLennon? @ May 21, 2006 -> 03:55 PM) If we were to send him to Anahiem, I can definitly see him waiving that clause. There's a reason why he signed a contract extention and included a no trade clause, he's not going anywhere.
  25. Yes, we should trade McCarthy, a young up and comming Starting pitcher with monster potential for a player or 2 at the most inconsistent position in baseball. You don't trade young, good starting pitching for relief pitching.
