QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) Right now, you'd have Dye in LF, Griffey in CF and ARow in RF with Carl DHing. Dye and Carl would platoon when Pods gets back. No way in hell do I move Arow from CF. He's earned that spot. Griff can take the DH spot or play some corner OF. The only time I want Griffey in CF is to give Rowand a rest .

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 11:33 AM) Tell me this, how can adding Griffey make the O worse than it is right now? It would put the ultra-clutch, offensive leader Carl Everett on the bench. :rolly

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) If that were to happen...then I think both of them would have to actually be able to prove that they didn't. In particular with Mr. McGwire and his andro/unwillingness to talk about the past, that would be almost impossible. As public figures, it's nearly impossible for them to prove libel claims. Which is pretty much my point. I don't think professional athletes are going around perusing internet message boards looking for things they can sue people over, otherwise they would have much easier targets on the radio, with people constantly talking about which players they think are on steroids. Hell me & Z said numerous times on their old show that Edmonds was on steroids as well as calling him Commander Douche bag.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 11:23 AM) Sure, Caruso does his dry-cleaning and Barcelo picks up around the house That was actually a pretty good line.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) f*** it, send me the bill. You have a couple of top prospects lying around your house?

1.) Junior would be a huge f***ing shot in the arm for this club. 2.) Please don't refer to Konerko's quotes in a negative sense. They guy is saying that they're going to live and die by what they have, that they have confidence in the players currently on the team. He's not saying that he wouldn't welcome a player like Griff onto the team, he's just saying that another bat is not necessary in order for them to succeed, which is the right way to look at it if you're on the team.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) tATu Hot, affectionate, lesbian singers are the furthest thing from an embarrasing crush. Why do you think people go to watch them in concert? Their music sucks.

QUOTE(sircaffey @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) Ibanez and Guardado...problems fixed. No. Not really. He has 2 less HRs than Everett. He also has +30 points on his OPS and +30 on his BA. This does not solve all of our problems. Neither does a 35 year old pitcher with a partially torn rotator cuff and a team that would want a s*** load of talent for the two. Ibanez and Guardado would be great pickups they however would not cure all problems for this club and would cost more than should be given up for them.

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) I love Misty May. Most of my friends think she's not all that hot, but when she's playing volleyball in that bikini, it gets me to stop switching!

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) interesting that as of 10:30 a.m. today i couldn't find anything about this on the Red Sox fan site sonsofsanhorn.com. I took a quick glance, but couldn't find anything. I assume their mods are being crazy about not letting any rumors about this get posted, I'm sure there's major scrutiny in Boston over this issue. Their mods are probably working 24 hours and erasing anything once it comes up. we're far enough away from the story where I doubt lawyers are trolling this site looking for things If people were really looking to sue anyone who posted something about someone possibly doing steroids on a message board then they should have gone after Dan Patrick for saying on the radio that McGuire and Sosa both took steroids, which has never been proven.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) Yes...that was already discussed. Does the fact that I was in attendance for both of Hermy's Blown Saves change the total at all? Can they be negated by my suck factor? No, but it should sway you to stop going to Sox games. You're probably the biggest jinx going right now.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 10:40 AM) Agreed, just wanted to bust your east coast biased balls. BTW, check out my sig glad it's being put to good use.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) I didnt know a Cy Young was awarded on past performance, because then Santana wouldnt have won s***. Actually Hermanson shouldn't be a Cy Young Candidate with 26 Ks and a 1.76 ERA. Santana was the best player in baseball last year, best in the AL by far. If you come on and have an absolutely f***tacular year for the first time in your career and dominate (such as Loaiza 2 years ago) then you should be considered for a Cy Young, Halladay won his for the first time after having an amazing year and Santana last year was by far the best pitcher in the AL. That wasn't much of an arguement IMO. And I was talking about no love from the media, not from me or anything.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) How has he been the most dominant. His numbers are similar to Hermys for god sake But Hermanson has never been this good before so he gets absolutely no love. Oh yeah, Hermy has 2 less BS than Rivera.
-
QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) I should've put a disclaimer on it. If the Yanks make the playoffs Rivera will be the Cy Young. My reasoning is simple. To me the Cy Young has always been about dominance. No starting pitcher this season in the AL has displayed dominance for long periods of time. Garland has the best chance to win it because if he can get to that magic number of 20 wins he will get alot of votes. But right now, the most dominant pitcher in the AL this year has been Rivera. If Rivera finishes the year with 6 BS which is most likely what will happen seeing how he's at 4 right now and seems to be tiring, which is something he never used to do, then there is no way he should win the Cy Young. A reliever can only win the Cy if they have been absolutely un-hittable such as Gagne (55/55 in save opp). 45/51 (which River could realistically finish the year at) is not Cy Young caliber. Roy Halladay has been the most dominate starter in the AL this year, if he gets back within the week and continues this dominance for the rest of the season the Cy should go to him.
-
QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 10:07 AM) If you're not with us your against us Rivera is my AL Cy Young right now too Can either of you give me one reason why he should win? Other than the fact that he has a pretty good ERA and Whip.
-
QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 10:00 AM) That's because they use this formula: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/features/cy In there, they have Rivera first, followed by Garland, Buehrle, Colon, Nathan, Halladay, and then Santana. Garcia even ends up in 10th because the Sox are in first. Garland has the upper hand as long as he can win some games. If he can get to 22 wins and the Sox finish with the best record in the AL, then it will be hard to look at the others with their teams not even making the playoffs. A closer with 4 BS, under 43 saves (by the end of the year) and a team that isn't even going to make the playoffs should not even be considered for the Cy Young. For a reliever to win Cy Young they have to be otherworldly and Rivera hasn't even been close.

QUOTE(WSNS-TV44 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 09:41 AM) Humm, most can confuse Jamie O'Neal for Tara Reid.... Who would be an embarrassing crush seeing how she's a complete whore. (Reid that is)

"the Sox would rather blow the division or lose in the 1st round of the playoffs with what they have, than to add a bat." "we're going to go down swinging with the guys we have" Difference? I'd say so.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 09:44 AM) PK was sticking up for his team, trying to be the team leader. The whole Griffey Jr. thing really got out of hand, and you're foolish to think these players weren't caught up in it also. As much as I disagree with what PK said, I totally respect him for saying it. Come on that's much to sensible. With an opinion like that you might actually sway some people into NOT bashing Konerko for something he said.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 09:43 AM) I would like to SEE this quote then judge a man on hearsay. I'm sure we all agree on that... Well, it would be nice to hear it from his mouth instead of a second hand source.
-
Prediction: "This guy is supposed to be the team leader? All he ever does is open his mouth and say dumb s*** like this, I can't wait until he's gone this offseason so I dont have to hear this type of talk out of him anymore." -------------------------------- Funny how there's no soundbite on this, you're just relying on the people doing the show to correctly quote a guy that has continuously been taken out of context.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 09:38 AM) I'm thinking Red Sox. Or the O's.
