  1. QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 11:52 PM) I said that back in April when we pissed away a ridiculous game at Baltimore and everybody told me to calm down...that it was only one game. f*** that..... I knew all these games like this would crawl up our ass eventually. Yep. After a while, the "it's just one game" gift-wrapped losses begin to add up.
  2. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 11:49 PM) This loss is irrelevant if we go out and win tomorrow. I like your optimism, but, um, no. That's not true at all. We're now tied for first instead of being one game up, and the division could easily come down to one game.
  3. QUOTE (jeffthedude @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 11:46 PM) Don't worry about Minnesota, we're going to get swept by Oakland here so they can do the honors of knocking us out. We won't be anywhere near first place this time next month. Our division is a one-team race. " Minnesota will win the division by five or more games.
  4. Of course the A's are like 4-23 in their last 27 games and we are the cure to what ails them.
  5. Lead-off double. Excellent. f*** you Dotel, f*** you very much.
  6. QUOTE (tommy @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 11:35 PM) I will be the optimist for the night, if Horacio goes 1-2-3 we get to see Mr Clutch Quentin. Pretty big if.
  7. I would be shocked if the A's don't win it here.
  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 11:27 PM) At least we have a chance against Street. He's been getting rocked lately, which means we'll go down 1-2-3 against him.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 02:46 PM) From the FWIW category... The A's are 4-23 in their last 27 games. The A's have been in a freefall. It wasn't more than a couple of months ago when it looked like they might give the Angels a run for their money in the West. I guess they collapsed because Beane traded away most of their good players.
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 03:28 PM) They're called points, not runs. At least that's what Hawk and DJ have been saying lately. That's been annoying the hell out of me lately as well. Hawk, you score runs in baseball, not points.
  11. I had Swisher as a .275/.400/.480, 30-35 homer guy.
  12. QUOTE (Karko's Throat Skin @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 01:51 PM) Sweep. We are due for one and especially against the Royals. This team is possibly the streakiest in recent memory. 3 wins could vault them on a 7 or 8 game streak. You said it. It seems like forever since this team has gone on an extended winning streak. We're due for one.
  13. As it stands, Quentin leads Hamilton in every single meaningful offensive category, plus his team is in first. If things stay the way they are, Quentin looks like the clear winner. But he didn't do drugs, oh wait. I think Hamilton's story is nice, but his past shouldn't affect MVP voting, in my opinion.
  14. The guy can't throw strikes, so let's give up outs.
