  1. When I saw this pinned at the top, for a millisecond I though a trade had been made.
  2. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 12:14 PM) I could probably even broaden it to most sports in general, minus the Sox. I'll catch an occasional game from our local minor league teams in baseball, basketball and hockey. If they win, great. If they lose, no big deal. Same thing with pro football and basketball. I'll watch a few minutes of a Bulls or Bears game, but the outcome isn't a big deal to me. I don't pay attention to hockey at all. The Sox are the only team that I actually care about whether they win or lose. I also have no problem playing most sports. Whether it's at the park with friends or on a video game. Same here, except I have a slightly-larger-than-casual interest in the Bears, but not nearly to the same extent as the Sox. The offseason is much harder for us one-team or one-sport guys.
  3. These next four days are going to be fun.

    Edit: Never mind. BTW, my PS2 that I bought in May 2001 finally took a s*** on me about four months ago. Sucks, but what are you gonna do? I cut my losses and bought a PStwo.

    QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 07:18 PM) I have a 20 Inch Screen that I can get two feet in front of.. you'll go blind that close with a 46" Name a console game that you can't get for PC? All console games flow smoothly onto the PC Stopped reading right there. There are numerous quality console games that are not on PC.

    I played and finished FFVII for the first time about four years ago, and I did manage to beat both Weapons. I don't remember exactly how I did so but if I recall correctly I simply KOTR'd them to death in conjunction with the Mime and Auto-Revive materia. Beforehand I had tirelessly level grinded in Mideel and the Crater for hours on end until I had all three of my characters at level 100 and my materia was maxed out. At that point they were relatively easy. It's really simply a matter of building your characters up enough, but it takes a long time to do it. FFVII is an awesome game, I need to replay it soon.

    I'll likely be buying one in 2-3 years when it's affordable. I'm still working through a huge backlog of good games I missed from the PS2/Cube/Xbox era, so I'm not sure I'm ready to go next-gen yet. With the exception of re-selling for profits, I really see no reason to buy any console at launch. The hardware is often questionable and there's usually only or two decent games out worth playing. The Wii is tempting, but the only launch game that catches my eye is Zelda TP which I can also get on Cube. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 06:53 AM) then you've never played PC games... Quite the opposite. Think about the computing power of some of the best gaming PCs out there. They blow away a console. they're literally toys in comparison True. The best gaming PCs are several times more powerful than the consoles, but personally I've also always found the consoles to have a far better game library. Graphics are of secondary importance to me. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 07:21 AM) As far as the PS3, I plan to buy it for the new Final Fantasy and because they are remaking FF7 with the revamed gameplay. That's actually an unverified rumor that has persisted for years. I think they'll remake FFVII eventually, but it hasn't been announced yet. I hope they do because FFVII was one of my favorite PS1 games and would like to see it updated.
  9. As a White Sox fan I don't root for rivals of the White Sox (the Tigers), and don't understand those that do. Go A's!
  10. A's/NL Yankees Death How the heck can you guys root for our heated divisional rivals before other teams? That just doesn't make sense to me. I like the fact that we're the only AL Central team with a recent World Championship and would like things to remain that way.
  11. I'm rooting for the Yankees over Minnesota or Detroit. It they win, it'll be like what, their 27th World Series title? Big deal, who friggin' cares anymore? If the Tigers or Twins win it, we'll no longer be the only AL central team with a semi-recent championship under our belts, and 2005 bragging rights are nullified against their fans. Of course, Go A's!
  12. Esteban Loiaza three hits us. Un-f***ing-believable.
  13. QUOTE(MSHAWKS @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 11:59 AM) No kidding. Did you see the dogs that Cleveland and Baltimore are throwing out there on the mound tonight? Wow. Holy s***. A guy who's 1-9 and a guy who has an ERA of 36. Yikes. We need to beat the one year wonder tonight.
  14. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:58 AM) I think my kids have just about all the pokemon games made. I've played a few of them once or twice. It seems to me they are all pretty much the same, just named with a different color. Walk a little ways, fight with another Pokemon, choose, "attack" or "run", capture Pokemon, repeat... I agree with this. The single-player portions of Pokemon games are like a "my first RPG." However, for multiplayer competitive battling, they are immensely deep and strategic (if you're in to that sort of thing). But the point is kind of moot because the games aren't yet online.
  15. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 12:45 AM) Nintendo has never really made games that break the bend. They have Mario, Metroid Prime and Zelda...outside of that they rarely, if ever, have a big hit. I disagree here. There are a ton of great Gamecube games that aren't Mario, Metroid Prime, and Zelda, some of them also made by Nintendo, some of them not. Sure, probably not as many as PS2 or Xbox, but it's still a significant number. You just have to get past the most mainstream stuff and search beneath the surface. This goes for all consoles. People miss out on incredibly fun and well-made games like Psychonauts, Harvest Moon, Katamari Damacy, Shadow of the Colossus, Chronicles of Riddick, and Tales of Symphonia because they only look at the most popular stuff.
  16. Wii60 for the win. Can't wait for the VC and all the great Nintendo games like Zelda. I'm a little skeptical about the Wiimote, but I know Nintendo will prove me wrong.
  17. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 11:19 PM) Because there are none(unless controlling offensive linemen counts as a new feature). EA is trying to steal your money. Yeah, but you're forgeting about the three new tackling animations, the four new hip-hop songs added to the soundtrack, and the slicker-looking menus.
  18. To be fair, BOS and NYY were probably feeling the same way about us when they beat us two out of three and swept us, respectively.
  19. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) The White Sox are still talking about Soriano according to ESPN Radio. Still doubt it happens though. However, Washington will have to move him somewhere.
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 05:32 PM) June: Fun July: Hell QFT.
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 01:02 AM) Winning would be a welcomed change. Winning? What word is that? What does it mean?
