Daniel Carcillo will miss the remainder of the season and playoffs due to an injured ACL in his right knee. Carcillo will have surgery to repair the damage. If there's a silver lining, it's that he should be fine for the start of the 2012-13 season. He suffered the injury because of how Edmonton's Tom Gilbert fell after being hit hard by Carcillo. Incidentally, Carcillo received a seven-game suspension for his actions and would have been eligible to return on January 18th. Rotoworld I think he is one and done with the Blackhawks.

A source tells the Indianapolis Star that Kerry Collins didn't actually have "concussion-like symptoms" when the Colts sent him to injured reserve in late October. Collins saw the writing on the wall, realized he wasn't helping a team going nowhere, and reportedly approached the front office about letting him retire in Nashville. The source also indicated that Collins gave the Colts "a break" on the $4 million contract signed just before the start of the season. Rotoworld Colts should be fined heavily for faking IR injuries.

Chicago will be without Patrick Sharp for the next three-to-four weeks because of what is believed to be a hand or wrist injury. According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Colts owner Jim Irsay "will never trade" Peyton Manning. Mort also reports both Irsay and Manning have emphatically denied discussing pushing back the March 8 due date for Manning's $28 million option bonus. The duo will "jointly determine" Manning's future, and the matter of Manning's potential release remains a "medical issue" for the time being.
