With Kuroda and Pineda to NYY, does EJ for 1-2 years

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 12:26 AM) to the SOX become more and more likely by the minute? Assuming a Gavin Floyd trade for the prospects Williams/Hahn/Paddy are targeting...of course. (Also assuming that money isn't being held back for Cespedes). This eliminates the Yankees from the arms race, and brings the market of available guys down to Jackson and Oswalt, who some teams are looking at putting in the bullpen or limiting his starts. Arguably, Floyd would be more comfortable on the East Coast (Boston, maybe?) than E-JAX pitching in NY or Boston... http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-leag...MZwK752RMA5nYcB EJ is NOT coming back! -
I am shocked Seattle traded Pineda..................WOW!

Daniel Carcillo will miss the remainder of the season and playoffs due to an injured ACL in his right knee. Carcillo will have surgery to repair the damage. If there's a silver lining, it's that he should be fine for the start of the 2012-13 season. He suffered the injury because of how Edmonton's Tom Gilbert fell after being hit hard by Carcillo. Incidentally, Carcillo received a seven-game suspension for his actions and would have been eligible to return on January 18th. Rotoworld I think he is one and done with the Blackhawks.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 11:04 AM) I have this gut feeling that the Cubs are going to win it within 3 years. This year they might be competitive and either just miss, or even make the playoffs contrary to the popular consensus (that they're going to be garbage); but 2013 or 2014 will see a Cub WS winner. I kind of like it the way it is right now, and would rather keep it that way- but my gut feelings are usually pretty good. Scrubs suck here is too 100 more years of losing!

QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) At 17, I think it's safe to safe he's a LONG ways away from making a difference. At least the Sox are spending more internationally. Long time coming!

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 12:52 PM) This is an important year for him. That injury really set him back. Now the question will be, was that permanent or can he recover. It will be interesting to see where he starts out at. I agree with the injury part, but his strikeout ratio is awful.

Raiders fired coach Hue Jackson. We knew this was a realistic possibility once the Raiders brought in GM Reggie McKenzie, as Jackson was still fighting for more power with owner Mark Davis. Had Jackson made the playoffs and not ransacked the franchise's future for Carson Palmer, there's a good chance he'd still be in charge. Packers LBs coach Winston Moss and DBs coach Darren Perry have been mentioned as potential replacements. Fantasy-wise, the coaching change is bad news for Darren McFadden and the Oakland receivers, as Jackson maximized their talents with creative scheming and aggressive play-calling. Rotoworld Trading the first round picks for Palmer is 100% on Jackson. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 12:31 PM) There are 4 or 5 McCaskey boys, and there are grandkids. Unless there is some crazy scenario where they all decide to sell(the family owns an 80 percent stake in the Bears), you better sit back and accept the fact that the McCaskeys will be at the top of the organizational pyramid for the rest of your days Very true sadder words have NEVER been written in this thread! -

A source tells the Indianapolis Star that Kerry Collins didn't actually have "concussion-like symptoms" when the Colts sent him to injured reserve in late October. Collins saw the writing on the wall, realized he wasn't helping a team going nowhere, and reportedly approached the front office about letting him retire in Nashville. The source also indicated that Collins gave the Colts "a break" on the $4 million contract signed just before the start of the season. Rotoworld Colts should be fined heavily for faking IR injuries. -

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 09:00 AM) Rumor is that there is a VERY high probability of a BCS playoff system coming after the current BCS contract is up. Hope they do it right and not a halfass solution! -
Chicago will be without Patrick Sharp for the next three-to-four weeks because of what is believed to be a hand or wrist injury. He scored his 20th goal of the season on Sunday, but Detroit's Jiri Hudler slashed him on his wrist as he fired the shot. Sharp stayed the game and later tumbled during a penalty kill. He landed on his hands. The good news is that he won't need surgery. This is an unfortunate blow to Sharp, who might have surpassed his career-high of 36 goals if he had stayed healthy. Rotoworld

According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Colts owner Jim Irsay "will never trade" Peyton Manning. Mort also reports both Irsay and Manning have emphatically denied discussing pushing back the March 8 due date for Manning's $28 million option bonus. The duo will "jointly determine" Manning's future, and the matter of Manning's potential release remains a "medical issue" for the time being. Our best guess remains that Manning will be released just before or on March 8. Per Rotoworld Who knows really should be real interesting come March. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 01:10 PM) Padres gave up on Rizzo quick. Its very amusing to me when GMs/scouts switch jobs, then just start signing & trading for all the players from their old team. That is why the Sox are trading with Toronto over and over......................good trade for the Cubs.

Another White Sox / Blue Jays trade on the horizon?

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 06:06 PM) Twitter handle of this guy is http://twitter.com/brboiler2013 Basically, he claims that his cousin is Gavin's wife, and his sister lives next door to them in Florida, and that's how he knows this is going down. Only thing that makes me question it is whether the player being traded would be told something as specific as "you and cash were traded to Toronto for Drabek and McGuire." Does a player always get told those kinds of details??? Candy-O I need you so! -

QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 12:17 PM) I don't think KW has to trade Floyd. They are going to have to give up somebody to make it worth the Sox while and they will need to outbid the other Eastern division teams. If KW does move Floyd and Crain/Thornton, I'll bet he will be in a position to spend. E Jax and Cespedes could very well be part of the Sox retool. Danks and Jackson will anchor the rotation for the next 5 years with Sale, Humber, and the best of the boatload of pitching that KW has acquired this off season. They will be set up pretty well for the future and still have a chance to win their division this year if Dunn and Rios play closer to their career averages. EJAX will not be back in any way shape or form. -

QUOTE (striker @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 11:03 AM) @FarrellBall (1/3/2012) Source: #Jays seem to be pushing harder for Gavin Floyd over the last 48 hours.. McGuire seems to be the centerpiece to a potential trade. @FarrellBall (1/1/2012) Source: The #Jays have strong interest in SP Gavin Floyd from the #WhiteSox.. Rumblings of McGuire or Wojciechowski... Just because Sox hire guy from Toronto does not mean we have to get every minor league spec he likes. McGuire has been a disappointment so far has been passed over time and time again.
