  1. Some teams know when to cut bait!
  2. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ May 3, 2015 -> 06:56 PM) Nothing changes until the Sox are sold. Because with this current ownership group, you will not get a movement to, as you shrewdly suggest, "cherry pick...(superior) front office (execs from other teams) to actually build something (representing a sustainable winning Chicago White Sox organization)." No, the approach with Reinsdorf to building a front office and in-game management team continues to be borne of favoritism and loyalty, and favoritism and loyalty only. How else do you either explain the continued employment of people like Williams, Boyer, Pizer, etc in the front office, or the hiring of Ventura, Baines, and Boston in the dugout? I mean, Ventura is the prime example of all of this. He was hired to be the manager of a Major League Baseball team with ZERO managing experience, and he wasn't even in the damn game at the time. Ah, but he was a personal favorite of the Chairman, so that trumped hiring someone like Dave Martinez, who was actually in a dugout for many years learning from someone like Joe Maddon. So firing Robin makes sense, but does it when the next manager is just another Reinsdorf favorite with no experience like Jim Thome, for example. No, it does not. It's really frustrating that we, the fans, continue to suffer from such poor decision making. If the Sox do not make it to the postseason yet again this year, that will represent the 30th time in Reinsdorf's 35 years as owner that they haven't. It's an abysmal record of futility and I, for one, choose to hold Reinsdorf accountable for the continued mess he and his management team deliver to our fan base. I truly do look forward to the day, whenever that is, when we wake up and hear that the team was sold. The idea of a fresh new ownership with different ideas and approaches on how to guide this team that operates in the third largest market to success will be warmly received and embraced. Anything different than what's been peddled these past 35 years, I'll take it. Got nothing to lose at this point. Finally someone that gets it, in reality as Sox fans with JR around nothing will change. Kenny Williams still collecting checks is really all you need to know about Sox brass.
  3. Kenny and RV need to be gone on Monday...................will not happen but that is 100% on JR!
  4. QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 3, 2015 -> 04:54 PM) I bet Ventura gets canned sometime this week. Why wait Monday it should be done.
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ May 3, 2015 -> 04:39 PM) That's an all-time bad road trip for only 5 games played. That may be the worst 5 games I have seen since 1974.
  6. 4 DP congrats Sox......................Twins all 4
  7. That has to be caught.
  8. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 3, 2015 -> 04:13 PM) Avi continues to hit. Only plus the whole week.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2015 -> 03:35 PM) Oh man, Segura in the Cubs game just got hit very badly in the head with a pitch. Hit the helmet thank god.
  10. It is 12-2 Molitor let it go.......
  11. Now the pen will go to crap.
  12. QUOTE (joegraz @ May 3, 2015 -> 03:14 PM) Sure he cares. He just made the ages-old mistake of hiring "family" members to run his company. It. Never. Works. Never cuts ties when he should and it is killing the organization time and time again.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2015 -> 03:11 PM) Looks like another homeless game. This team should be homeless.
  14. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ May 3, 2015 -> 03:07 PM) @scottmerkin: Twins have scored 11 runs today, five have been earned He will be defending RV after game................he was borderline embarrassing for a beat writer yesterday
  15. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 3, 2015 -> 03:05 PM) Hawk talks a ton of s*** but he's right about one thing: bad play is contagious, just as good play is. Hard to tell I have not seen any good play by Sox in over 2 years.
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 3, 2015 -> 03:04 PM) it's actually kind of fun to watch. If this isn't the bottom then I have no idea what is. This has to be the bottom doesn't it?
  17. FIRE someone this is nonsense.
  18. QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 3, 2015 -> 03:01 PM) Who would the Sox demand from Boston for Sale? Betts, Swihart, Owens, Moncada? Swihart and Betts are starting points.
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ May 3, 2015 -> 03:01 PM) Fun flight home, huh? At least it is short.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2015 -> 02:59 PM) Disagree, as it's not like Sox fans comes out especially for him as it is now. If they can get 3-4 major pieces for the future, I think fans would understand. We shall see I guess
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2015 -> 02:56 PM) Question starts to become if there's any reason to think they can compete next year. If not, then see ya Sale. If Sox trade Sale just sell the team or leave Chicago because that will be it.
  22. QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 3, 2015 -> 02:52 PM) I'm not spending another dime on tickets until Robin's ass is gone. Some guys do not think so, but a lot of fans are done with RV.
  23. I have never seen a Sox team so unprepared to play day after day.
