QUOTE (gatnom @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 03:10 PM) Firing Beckman doesn't just magically fix the program. There's a reason Sumlin turned us down last coaching search, and it's not that we didn't have enough money. Firing Beckman can actually make things worse instead of better. We may be forced to fire him if he doesn't win a another game, but let's cross that bridge when we get to it. No it does not but Beckman/Banks are not even rank amateurs. FIRE them.

White Sox farm system ranked 24th in new BA ranks
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 03:54 PM) They could have stagnated or gotten worse. The system has been on the rise for a while now. 24th out of 30 teams still very stagnate minor league system wise. Sox have been in the bottom 3rd in MLB for years. System cannot get much worse. Difference between 24th and 30th team in reality is very small. When Sox get to the 15th ranked system then we can talk about being on the rise. Next years #3 pick is huge for the future.

2013-2014 NFL Thread
NFL.com's Mike Silver believes there's a "very real possibility" the Bears let Jay Cutler walk in free agency. Silver believes Bears coach Marc Trestman "might not place as much of a premium on arm strength as some of his peers," and that Cutler has hurt his cause by remaining turnover prone. A source "familiar with the Bears' situation" agrees. "If you're (Trestman), do you want to spend $20 million a year on Cutler, who might not be the best fit, or do you want to find someone you can mold who's efficient," the source asked rhetorically. "And if you think about how deep this (next) draft class might be, he can identify his guy and get him relatively cheap for the next few years." The Bears would be gambling by throwing in the towel on Cutler, but he turns 30 in April, and has grown increasingly injury prone. It will likely at least be considered in the Windy City.
