Cardinals and Peralta close to a deal
QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 10:38 PM) Turned down 4/52m? Wow! I'm guessing 4/65m. Too much for him no matter. Agree with you he is being way overpaid.

NBA Thread 2013-2014
The Chicago Bulls will not wait on deciding if Derrick Rose (torn meniscus) will have surgery on his knee. Rose doesn't have a lot of swelling and he won't have to "prehab" before going under the knife. While the surgery is expected to occur soon, the specifics of the operation are not known yet. Consequently, there is no timetable for Rose to return, but the Bulls obviously won't be rushing him back. He will likely miss at least half the season, so fantasy owners will have a tough decision on their hands. Kirk Hinrich picks up the most value while just about every Bull will have more responsibility scoring the ball. Per Rotoworld

McCann about to sign with Yankees

McCann about to sign with Yankees
The Yankees and Brian McCann have agreed upon a five-year, $85 million deal, per Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. The deal also includes a vesting option for a sixth year that could bring the deal to $100 million. McCann has been a top option for the Yankees since the outset of free agency, so it's no surprise they got their guy. The 29-year-old hit .256/.336/.461 with 20 homers in 102 games in 2013 and should improve on those numbers in his new digs. Per Rotoworld Deal looks like it is done.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 05:58 AM) Just saw the news. FFFFFFFUUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKK!!!!!!! Crazy s***, must have happened right after I turned it of. Bulls are toast. Trade Deng, trade Boozer. No reason to pay the luxury tax. They'll still magically win 40 though because Thibs has one speed and the east is garbage. Hope Mirotic is Dirk 2.0 and Derrrick can at least give them one or two more solid years, even if he ends up looking more like Jrue Holiday. The Bobcat's pick suddenly became a lot more important. Blow it up If Rose is done for year.

2013-14 off season player movement thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 03:40 PM) That is the least risky boast ever. This is the Royals. Every move they make, they regret. I disagree trade below worked out great for KC. July 29, 2012: Royals acquire right-handed pitcher Jeremy Guthrie from Rockies for left-handed pitcher Jonathan Sanchez. He was 10-0 with a 2.21 ERA. Sanchez struggled with the Rockies.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 11:28 PM) Dna report connects Winston to accuser... Analysis completed by Florida police confirmed that DNA provided by Florida State QB Jameis Winston matched a sample taken from the underwear of the woman who has accused him of sexual battery, according to ESPN. Per ESPN, who saw the report, "the chance of the DNA in the woman's underwear being a match for someone other than Winston was one in 2.2 trillion." The initial sample was obtained on Dec. 7, 2012 after the alleged incident occurred. Winston then took his half of the test on Tuesday. Per Rotoworld We will see If Florida St turns a blind eye.

2013-14 off season player movement thread
Sources have informed Andrew Marchand of ESPN New York that free agent second baseman Robinson Cano is still seeking a 10-year contract worth $310 million. That's what Cano asked of the Yankees just before this year's All-Star break. New York declined and Cano is highly doubtful to land that record-smashing sum on the open market, but it doesn't hurt to ask. The 31-year-old hit .314/.383/.516 with 27 home runs and 107 RBI in 160 games this summer. He's being represented by Roc Nation Sports and Jay-Z is expected to be intimately involved in his contract negotiations. per Rotoworld Good luck with that Mr. Cano

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 06:34 PM) Personally, I think losing Snider is a bigger blow to Illinois than Cliff going to Kansas. If Cliff was a one year player, chances are they aren't a final 4 team anyway. Snider is a guy who would have been around a few years, helping them consistently win a lot of games. I agree with you.............Cliff would of been the cherry on top today.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 05:50 PM) They definitey have a talented roster but the only thing entertaining to me last night was Joe's short promo. Even the Aries-Angle match was a disappointment. The Styles thing as you said they're taking further than the E but the problem there is that Styles isn't Punk and Dixie isn't Vince. Anyways, AJ Lee apparently collapsed today during a show but it sounds like she should be ok, thankfully. Sounds like AJ was dehydrated. How she is ok I am starting to enjoy her character.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 04:22 PM) Sorry to rub it in Illinois fans, but are you kidding? Did you really think you would get this guy? Do yourself a favor and assume Illinois will not get a 5-star recruit until they are at least a perennially top 25 program again. Even then, reality check, you probably won't get them very often. The blue chip recruits go to the blue blood schools. It's part of what is ruining college basketball. The same teams win every year with some new superstar, that superstar leaves, but the recruiting remains. Whatever I do not agree with 20% of what you stated. Your logic makes no sense in college basketball today.
