  1. Cubs got Daniel Bard off waivers and Theo waive his other Red Sox project Michael Bowden today.
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 4, 2013 -> 12:26 AM) Dumb Dumber Dumberer He had one terrific and unexpected season, one dismally bad season. You say he doesn't care, wtf is he supposed to do, get kicked out of every game? McEwing told Lexi to make sure a line drive goes through yet he STILL got doubled off 3rd. That's the coach's fault?? Give him one more season. If they blow then you know. Dumbest
  3. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 1, 2013 -> 10:42 AM) HUGE get for us. Top 40 out of state recruit, and beat out some big schools for him. Nice to see Groce get him.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 3, 2013 -> 10:47 PM) Good item, but after a month or two at home in the offseason, his wife (I presume he's married) will say, 'Honey we need to talk. You can certainly hang in there one more year for that 15 million; then we can talk about it again after next season, right?" I agree 90% he will be back just putting what I saw out there.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 3, 2013 -> 10:14 PM) First of all, who the hell is going to take Dunn off the Sox hands at that salary? Hawk knows better than that. Nobody will want Dunn. I would hope we all agree on that. Secondly, I know Alexei and DeAza probably piss off Robin for their many botched plays. Understandable, but I will say, good luck to the Sox replacing them. Our lineup has the potential to be one of the worst in baseball history if the Sox don't get somebody to hit in those two spots. Say what you want about them being mental midgets, Alexei and DeAza at least get multi-hit games once in a while. Paulie, yeah he's probably gone. But again, if we don't get Abreu (sp?) our lineup really really really could be weak. Paulie is going to start for somebody next year. So he still is a big-leaguer. Wow, does Hahn have work to do if Hawk is right. We might truly have a 110-loss team if all those guys are leaving. It's not like we have bats to replace them. Let's hope their replacements are more like Garcia and less like Keppindisaster. Adam Dunn told FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal Tuesday that he could retire after the season. Dunn is just 33, is guaranteed $15 million next season and is within shouting distance of 500 homers, but he indicated that a lack of enjoyment for the game could lead him to walking away. "I’m not coming back just to come back for money or because I have one year left (on his contract)," Dunn said. "I’m not coming back to chase home-run numbers or whatever. If I end up with 499 and I’m not having fun, see ya — 499 it is." It's certainly something to file away, but it's hard to see Dunn giving up a guaranteed $15 million. Per Rotoworld
  6. Bears released OT Jonathan Scott and re-signed TE Kyle Adams. Scott beat out J'Marcus Webb for No. 4 tackle duties in Chicago, but his stay on the roster doesn't last long. It's possible the Bears are just cutting him ahead of Sunday's game to protect themselves from having to guarantee Scott's 2013 salary. Adams was waived by the Bears on Monday. Per Rotoworld
  7. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Sep 3, 2013 -> 09:16 PM) Robin looks PISSED. He needs to look in the mirror he has been amateur hour all year.
  8. 1-2-3 Sox go out with a whimper. Yanks win 6-4
  9. Ha Ha SOS with this sorry bunch.
  10. Veal just sucks no way around it. Bullpen blows up for Sale again.
  11. Jones playing the role of lighter fluid.
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 3, 2013 -> 06:14 PM) Bears have a tough schedule though (imo). I agree schedule is tough.
  13. He is great in getting a better draft spot, pitch him every other day.
  14. Tommy Morrison former Heavyweight Champ was only 44.
  15. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 2, 2013 -> 10:57 AM) 36 million over 6 years, so 6 million annually. Cap will go up over the term of the deal, but seems about 750K too high That will be a high cap number for Crawford going forward.
  16. Flowers may have played his last game in a Sox jersey.
  17. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Sep 1, 2013 -> 02:12 PM) Daniel Bard was designated for assignment by the Red Sox. I would hope the Sox pick him up. Coop can fix him.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 1, 2013 -> 01:57 PM) The Sox better not just let ADA go without getting a solid package in return. You are not going to get much in a trade.
  19. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 1, 2013 -> 01:55 PM) Or de aza and the continuing mental errors. Stoney too. He's sick of it. I hear the same tone from Farmer and DJ when I listen to games. I know they like Robin but even they can't hide their disgust with how this team continues to make the same mistakes over and over again. Despite Venturas threats back in May, there have been no consequences for these mistakes, further eroding any perception that Robin is in control of this team. I think everyone has had it with De Aza, I still say he is declined arbitration by the Sox and gone.
  20. Lineup today really weak.
  21. Vikings claimed OT J'Marcus Webb off waivers from the Bears. Bears claimed DE David Bass off waivers from the Raiders. Bass was outplayed by UDFA Ryan Richardson during Oakland's preseason, but he was a dominant small-schooler who looked like a strong developmental prospect during pre-draft all-star games. He'll be a deep reserve in Chicago. Per Rotoworld
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 1, 2013 -> 12:44 PM) How does he fall to Pittsburgh? He cleared waivers a week ago.
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 31, 2013 -> 07:50 PM) Alshon Jeffery? He was 2012 draft pick.
  24. QUOTE (gatnom @ Aug 31, 2013 -> 03:21 PM) For as bad as he's been, I genuinely feel bad for Tim Beckman. He's gotten so much unnecessary s*** from the Illinois fan base. Hopefully, the guy that gets brought in next year is better. He won't have to live up to unreasonably high standards right off the bat at least. Beckman worst enemy is Beckman. How anyone can feel sorry for him is beyond me.
