Wise has no business playing for the Sox again in 2013. Time to let younger guys sink or swim at this point.

Price should have a nice start.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 10:37 AM) @richeisen: This obnoxious Dwight Howard free agency venture underscores, once again, that the NFL season can NOT start soon enough. Amen

Hope that is first of many hits for JP.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 5, 2013 -> 11:27 AM) It's weird seeing Detroit make moves then realizing it doesn't really affect the Hawks anymore. Until I read your post I forgot Detroit went to the Eastern Conference..............this will be a hard habit to break.

Managing a Rebuilding Team Wouldn't Scare Ventura

Dayan moving to 1st is a no brainer. I have said this all year long after PK is gone. -
This is a needed first step.

The White Sox luck in 2013 is just plain bad.

Vinny also got a no trade clause. Vincent Lecavalier has agreed to sign a five-year, $22.5 million deal with the Philadelphia Flyers. His deal will also include a full no-movement clause, according to TSN's Darren Dreger. The deal won't be official until Friday, but the Flyers have landed themselves a very capable center to play behind Claude Giroux if he can avoid injury. Per Rotoworld

Nice to see the Sox get someone. -
QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 1, 2013 -> 09:58 PM) Maybe its the 117 degree heat in Las Vegas making me crazy, but what if we decided to be buyers instead of sellers? We are only 10.5 games out of first place and no one seems prepared to run away with this division. Lets go out and trade for a 1B, 3B, C, OF, DH, and a couple of pitchers. If we have the opportunity, lets upgrade at other positions as well. We can turn this thing around with the pickup of 8 or 10 new players who contribute strongly. Wouldn't it be a hoot if we won the division after this start?? Come in out of the sun, it is hot out there.

Not a fan of AJ Lee she seems like skank city to me.

Star witness for prosecution was anything but. Got caught lying 2 or 3 times she is not credible.

The Chicago Blackhawks signed Bryan Bickell to a four-year deal reportedly worth $15.2 million. That's a handsome raise for a guy with just 90 points in 220 regular season games. Apparently Chicago's focused on the nine goals and 17 points he collected in 23 postseason contests. That 18.4 shooting percentage isn't likely to stick around, but he could still be fantasy-relevant if he draws high-end linemates. Per Rotoworld According to Pierre LeBrun, Bickell will receive a $1 million bonus plus $2 million in salary for next season, then $4 million in 2014-15, then $4.5 million in each of last two years of the deal. Should be noted that Chicago shed approximately $5.7 million in salary today with the Bolland and Frolik deals. Per Pro Hockey Talk

Bickell resigns 4 yr deal.

Bowman very busy last hour or so, he wanted more picks and he got them.

Ryan Hartman Hawks got a hometown kid at 30. Good value pick and loves to mix it up. I had seen him drafted in the late teens in a few mock drafts. The Blackhawks selected Ryan Hartman with the last pick of the first round of the 2013 NHL entry draft. Hartman made a name for himself in his first season removed from the United States National Team Development Program playing for the Plymouth Whalers of the OHL. He’s known for his gritty, agitating style of play, as he finished with 120 PIMs in 56 games. However, he is deceptively effective offensively as his 60 points for Plymouth this past season will attest. He's also a gifted skater. While Hartman may take poor minor penalties at times, he’s one of the best in the draft at rattling his opponent. Moreover, he’s very versatile and can fit in on lines with different types of players. He sustained a severe cut on his wrist early in the OHL playoffs, but returned later in Plymouth’s post-season run. The prevailing thought is that the injury won’t be an issue going forward. The continuing fall and decline of PHT.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 30, 2013 -> 04:07 AM) I been here 10 years. I have to admit, I'm addicted to Soxtalk. I hate this board so much at times but I can't stop from logging in. 2003-2006 was the goldenage of Soxtalk. Everybody was cool, witty, funny, etc( I'm calling out Kalapse, qwerty and Felix for not bringing their knowledge to PHT). Gamethreads were so much better back in he day. Now gamethreads consists of Caulfields long-winded rants and soxfest one-liners. Terrible. This board site is in decline and soxtalk bosses must do something. This is soxtalk. Not Hawkstalk. This board should be about the White Sox 95% and like 5% everything else. Filibuster is a joke (lol@Jenks and strange, get a f***ing you boring dickheads). I'm insulted. The best thread on this board is the nba thread because of me. I want 2005 Soxtalk back. Mods, make it happen. Coming from a guy calling people bots. You got a high opinion of yourself NBA thread is good because of you what nonsense. You do not like the board f***ing leave. What the hell have you contributed to just one single game thread any different than anyone else.......NOTHING. Keep my name out of your cryfest, you have a ignore button use it instead of whining in a 4 AM rant. -
