  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2012 -> 05:13 PM) That would be the most impressive move by any general manager, ever. Blockbuster would truly fit in this trade.
  2. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 24, 2012 -> 03:27 PM) I am ticked off at myself. I had cable which showed ROOT sports and all Mariners games thus I could see the Sox when they played Seattle. I switched to Dish and now ROOT is blacked out. Didn't act quickly enough to dump Dish and go back to cable. But, Saturday the game is on WGN That sucks
  3. According to Gordon Edes of ESPN Boston, the Red Sox are talking to the Dodgers about a deal that would send Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford and Nick Punto to Los Angeles. Calling this deal a "doozy" would be the understatement of the year. Edes writes that "hurdles remain," but that the two sides are "closing in" on a potential deal. There's obviously a lot of money at play with the Gonzalez, Beckett and Crawford contracts, so this would be a pretty complicated deal. It's also worth noting that Crawford just had Tommy John surgery yesterday. But it's clear the Dodgers aren't afraid to take on money. Per Rotoworld Boston is backing the truck up, they must want these guys gone.
  4. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 23, 2012 -> 07:31 PM) MJD is acting like a b**** right now with the public talk of disrespect and such. His agent is Adisa Bakari, Forte's agent, so it's probably not a coincidence. He wants a new deal, when he's already received one. The Jaguars bet on him becoming a highly productive running back which is why they gave him a $9 million signing bonus and guaranteed the first two years of his contract (17.5 million) in a FRONT-LOADED contract. So now that he's collected all of it, he wants to get another payday, because he's special, I guess. It doesn't work like that, you already had your payday. MJD and his agent want it both ways.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 23, 2012 -> 06:17 PM) Huh? If you're going to be bold and say definitively "Sorry, Sale won't win the CY this year", at least give some reasoning why. Sale is no doubt a legitimate contender. Not enough innings and in the eyes of the voters he is a afterthought right now. He is in the team picture, but not getting the respect the other pitchers are.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 23, 2012 -> 12:38 PM) Boy that is a pretty big limb to go out on... I glad you like it SS2K.
  7. Sale is not going to win it this year...........sorry
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 01:12 PM) The chairman himself told mark to take the money. Then he gave him the Steve Miller's band greatest hits singing "Go on take the money and run."
  9. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/...ts-freeh-report My favorite quote from Spanier: "Why on earth would anybody cover up for a known child predator?" Spanier playing the my Daddy was abusive card on TV tonight in a interview.......this is nonsense!
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 09:15 PM) A right handed hitter going deep the other way 3 games in a row rarely happens, especially with a guy who doesn't hit 30 a year. 3,200 plus hits.............thought it would of happened at some point.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) Yankee Stadium isn't a home run haven for right handed hitters. He hit over half his career HR's to short porch in RF please!
  12. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 09:10 PM) Stephen Strasburg called and said that Chris is a p**** if he doesn't go 8 tonight. Sale called SS and said enjoy watching the playoffs from the bench.
  13. 1st time Jeter has ever hit 3 Hr's in 3 games..............He pulled them all............Yankee Stadium I am suprised he never did it before.
