  1. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) Albert Lea Not too far away at all. Just up I-35.
  2. Yeah 4 hits. Someone predicted we'd have 4 hits, I wonder if it'll stand.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) Oh yeah, she's tremendous. Also, she felt bad for me cause she knew I had to get up for work about 5 hours after the game, and she's off this week. at least she understands, lol I don't know if mine would.
  4. The one time I don't want to see a no hitter, it's going to happen....
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) BTW, it's great to be able to talk about Sox stuff with fellow fans. I know a lot of us disagree a lot of the time, but it really is more enjoyable than having to watch a game with your girlfriend! Funny story: My girlfriend was gone on vacation for a week, and got home last night around 7. She knows I like to watch the Sox games by myself, so she knew we'd hang out after the game. The poor girl, by the time Adkins had choked, was sound asleep. that is sad, especially since they lost. Hopefully she understands.
  6. Anderson with another K. Will somebody please get a hit??
  7. QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 08:30 PM) Why in the hell haven't our pitchers hit any of the Twins hitters? We could use a good bench clearing brawl to light a fire under this team. lol I like the thinking but the consequences outway it I think. We're struggling right now, we don't need to look dirty and get players suspended.
  8. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) I love going to CDGB's down there in Mason Yeah the have some good stuff at a cheap price. What city in Minnesota do you live in?
  9. yep Cleveland lost, some good can come from tonight.
  10. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) I'm with you man. Later Quitters!!!
  11. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) IF we make the playoffs, how the hell are we going to go anywhere. When we will have to play either the A's, Angels or Yanks and we can't win at home or play in front of big crowds, we will be swept just like 2000. we have to make the playoffs first, at this rate we can't win a game.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) Good grief. Someone might want to tell him Santana has a change-up. yeah that was painful to watch.
  13. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) This has nothing to do with pods. Ozuna did what Pods usually does. He got to second. It was the popup and K with men in RISP that killed us. We havent been the same team since Thomas went out of the lineup. But what Thomas did was the Sox have done the past few years. Replacing Podsednik with Ozuna is a downgrade, sure he got on base this time, but there's also could be a mentality issue with out having Podsednik in the lineup.
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) The score kept playing over and over Hawks retarded rant last night about how we dont need Griffey and where would he play. The best dumb comment from Hawk was when he stated, Ken Griffey Jr was one of the best hitters for 8 years. But that was a long time ago. Yeah, if that was a long time ago, then Frank's days were a long time ago too.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) And we haven't exactly done well against the better teams this season. Don't shoot me or anything, but just possibly, maybe we aren't as good as we thought we were. I still think this is a very good team, but how will we match up against the Red Sox, or the Yankees if they get in?
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) The only good fact that DJ had in the first, is Johan is a guy you try to hit his fastball to right and right center, and if he does surprise you with a change you pull it still fair. However this is the corpseball kids and they pull every freakin thing. They cant help it. So tonight you will be treated to a series of popups, ground outs to the left side, and Ks. Sounds to me like the White Sox circa 2000-2004. Are the White Sox really that much of different team with out Podsednik?
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:38 PM) The Sox will just say they lost to Johan, that's all. I can't believe the pitching we're lined up to face in the next week or so. We're in a s***load of trouble. We are lined up with a lot of hard pitching the upcoming week. But when you play the better teams you're going to have to face the better pitchers.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:36 PM) You're right, there's no excuse to ever lose to a pathetic lineup like the Twins have tonight. However, it just seems like the Twins take the field expecting to beat the Sox. They have beat us the last 4 years, why wouldn't they expect to be us otherwise. No Hunter, Jones, Stewart, or Mauer in the lineup. If we get crushed tonight there are even more serious problems than anyone realizes.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) He was leaving a lot of pitches over the plate, but of course, all our guys were trying to hit homers. Also, Iguchi had a lot of good swings vs Santana last time he faced him.....sure great we're trying to bunt the runner over. Unless you're pitching Roger Clemens on the road, there's no reason to play for one run in the first inning. Yeah I would've liked to see Iguchi try for a hit. At least the sacrafice worked, but getting runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs would've been ideal. But anyways let's get the bottom of the order going, starting with Dye.
  20. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:33 PM) Buehrle is 1337 LeCroy eats those pitches for breakfast, along with bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, waffles, french toast, cheeseburgers, fruity pebbles and a glass of skim milk. lol I love it, at least it's lightening up the mood here.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) Super, a moral victory yeah I guess you could say that.
  22. Damn, same old story different night it's looking. We gotta get some offense going against Santana somehow. I feel we blew our best shot in the 1st since he's normally average in the first inning.
