White Sox vs Cubs Game 2 Thread 5-21-05
WilliamTell replied to sox-r-us's topic in 2005 Season in Review
JC has been pitching great today, I just wish the hitting would come around. Let's go Sox. -
Don't listen to her Iowa. We all know what her plan is. lol, actually it is kinda cool that Iowa is getting recognition but I would prefere it from someone else.
-
Happy Birthday.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ May 20, 2005 -> 10:15 PM) I had it done. No pain, was at work less than 24 hours later. But I did develop dry socket later. Incredibly painful. Horrible--a million times worse than having my teeth out. So, uh, don't get that.... yeah I'm hoping I won't have that. They had to go way deep in to get my top two teeth. But I'm surprised how much the pain has gone down over the last 5 hours.
-
yeah I got all 4 of mine cut out and it's already starting to feel better.
-
I couldn't believe how out of it I was this morning. It was crazy, I was there for over 2 but it only seemed like 10 minutes. Anyways, how long did yours hurt after you got yours out?
-
happy bday
-
lol don't believe this.

I saw it last night in Des Moines, Iowa. Wow, I was speechless about it afterwards. A very great way to close out this trilogy.
-
Wow, Leo Mazzone looks real funny with it.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ May 17, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) I think the Dye topic is already beaten to death, but his defensive play is more frustrating than his hitting to me. It shows me that his offensive slump is carrying over into the field and giving the opposition extra bases, outs, and runs. Me too, I guess I expected a gold glover out their, I probably shouldn't have. I'm sick to hearing about how bad Dye is though, but there's only 2 ways to turn that around. 1. Wait til Frank gets back and he won't be in the lineup everyday, I'll only hear about how bad he is half the time. Or 2. Dye heats up both hitting and defensively.

It's my guess that Frank would be fine batting in the 4th spot. He let Maggs bat in the 3rd spot last year.

time for a 5th inning score fest. -
QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ May 15, 2005 -> 01:16 PM) Best starting record since the '84 Tigers...they shoulda sold out. As an out-of-town fan, I can't describe how frustrating it is NOT to be able to go to these games. The fact that there are millions of people up there who can drive an hour or two and be sitting inside the Cell watching an awesome team yet don't is f***ing frustrating. I'll finally get up there for the CLE series next month. Hopefully I'll be sitting in the midst of a sellout being the weather excuse will no longer be running rampant by that time. Incidentally, as I've said before, I'm not dogging folks on this board who live in Chicago. We're the diehards and I know that each of you gets to every game you can. Don't take my comments personally. Oh I know what you mean, I'm 19 and don't have a whole lot of money, but I'd be going to 15-20 games a year if I was in the area.

He must not be very good, I can't ever remember hearing anything about him.
-
Happy Bday's to you all.

QUOTE(Rooftop Shots @ May 14, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) Hard to believe that Lamar Hoyt's name was only mentioned once. My gosh, if there was a pitcher that the Sox had that was unhittable, he was it. I believe that it was Earl Weaver from Baltimore that quoted the press as saying in "83 playoffs, "If we didn't win this game, it would have been all over if we had to face Hoyt for the final playoff game." When Hoyt got traded, I remember seeing an interview with Fisk in the locker room. When he was asked on how he felt about The Sox trading Hoyt, he turned around and looked at the reporter with an evil eye and said on camera..."I Think It's Stupid!!" He turned back around and didn't say another word. I'm sure that didn't make uncle Jerry all too happy! I'd say half of the people here don't remember anything from the 80's, including me, otherwise I'm sure he'd be mentioned more than once.

QUOTE(BobDylan @ May 14, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) Some of these kids have better grammar then some of the older people I know. That is, of course, if these answeres weren't edited and tainted. Probably were both edited and tainted.

QUOTE(SHAFTR @ May 14, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) 1 run scored b/c of it (Podsednik off Iguchi's double) 1 of 4 isn't a good percentage though. I like the style, it's just not working tonight. But those days happen. -
Ok so the Yankees have the longest streak of leading at 48 games in a row then?? I guess I thought the Sox set the record, but that could just be for to open a season.
