QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 10:30 PM) Juan Uribe's approach at the plate is terrible, and you could see it in that 8th inning at bat he had against Farnsworth. Farns hung three sliders up in the zone, but Uribe's not staying back on the ball at all -- he's just falling forward well before the pitch gets there. Uribe was at his best in September of 2005 when Hrniak or Frank Thomas were implementing that front leg 'tap' timing system. It allowed him to sit back on the ball and see it further into the zone. I don't want to try and act like a 'hitting expert' here, either -- believe me, I'm far from that -- but this looks so f***ing obvious to me. Uribe is sapping himself of power with the current way he's swinging the bat. Because he's stepping forward so soon before the ball gets to home plate, any power that he should be transferring from his back leg is sapped. Basically any power he has is coming from his arms, and I don't think that's a good thing. I'm so glad Greg Walker found it necessary to "fix" things. Project 2007 Uribe

Crede Out Again, Possible DL Trip (per Score)
southsideirish71 replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Put him on the DL, and see if it recharges his back. This is the 2nd time in a few weeks his back has flared up, and his offense is non exsistant. Lets see what Fields can do. -
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 10:22 PM) When did Gary Ward get the ax? Didn't Von Joshua get the boot in May? Ward was fired on May 19th, 2003. Von Joshua was fired in May 20th, 2001. This pile of propaganda is bulls***

Clippard and his straight as an arrow 87 mph fastball shut down our team. How f***ing pathetic. Add another pathetic pitcher to the Cy Young list of medicore talent that shuts down a Walkerlead offense. -

Another melon pitch. Scouts must realize that we have no idea of what a strike is. -

Lovely AB Dye. Why is it that so many of our hitters have their front leg stay still, and their back leg moves towards the pull side. Uribe does it, and now I see Dye doing it a lot. -

Another chest high pitch and Dye falls over trying to hit the Dan Ryan. Nice swing on a pitch near your melon. -

We have more swings on pitches that are chest high or better away. On 2-1 that is not the pitch to drive. Same pitch. Same result. -

Our prospects are not bad, we need to find out what is inside them. Parrot keeps going on and on. Now the Parrot is going on about how great and positive the team is. We are going to try to win in 08 and in 09. Now its only the players fault. Not the coaches. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 10:05 PM) Owens now has 7 hits and 0 walks(!!!!) in 31 major league at bats. This team is the exact opposite of moneyball. We are the anti OBP team. Outside of Thome. -

QUOTE(bulokis @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 09:54 PM) We have shaken up our bullpen but the offense is still non-existent. Its time to focus on changing what we have in our offense because its not working. They have shuffled the lineup. They wont fire the instructor. So pretty much we will suffer. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 09:50 PM) Uribe has got 2 cookies this at bat, and 2 foul offs. Argh. Thats because he is trying to hit a car on lane 3 of the Dan Ryan. He wants Profundo. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 09:52 PM) Ahh yes the dreaded low AND high pitch. I see your point though and your right about his AB. high and away damn you. LOL -

Uribe's pathetic AB. Hanging pitch of the middle of the plate. Missed. Low and away, he swings over it. Low and high, fouled off. Way outside and high. Ball High hanger around his melon. He fouls it off. Now a fastball at the melon, and he pops out to the catcher. 2 of these pitches were near the zone. 2 of them. The scouting report on Uribe must read, when you get 2 strikes, throw it over his melon. He will swing at it. How the hell does he think that he can put that ball into play. I mean come on. -

Low and away ball one High and Away ball 2 High and away strike one (bulls***) High and In, fouls off. Hawk starts to b**** about the previous pitch. low and away breaking pitch put into play on the ground. His back foot was moving towards 1st base, and he flew open. Wierd hitting style there. Notice the pattern. -

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 09:32 PM) i'm not arguing that changes don't need to be made. i just think people can get carried away sometimes. and i also don't think the yankees have continually produced solid big league players. Yeah because the Yankees dont have unlimited funds to go and buy it. We dont have unlimited funds. -

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 09:30 PM) I'll give you the Braves and Twins, but the Indians pretty much traded for all of their guys, and the Yankee's haven't produced much lately besides Cano. They obtain the talent, but they take that talent and they teach it how to play fundamentally sound baseball. We get talent, and we ask it to pick out a car on lane 3 of the Dan Ryan and tell them swing for it.
