  1. Check out the last placed offense at work here. Only a bunch of goofs can turn man on 1-2 and no one out into a quick exit for the offense.
  2. Our minor league development needs to be terminated as a group. Low and away is poison. Its like no one in the International league can throw away.
  3. QUOTE(vandy125 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 07:10 PM) Anyone hearing Sutcliffe talking about Javy tipping his location to the hitters? Sutclife is trying to sound smart. He isnt tipping anything. Its called bad location. Sutcliffe needs more alcohol.
  4. Hopefully Uribe wont look as dumb this time, and will take more than 3 pitches to go down swinging.
  5. Now the sad thing is our guys see Howard kill it, and they think well if we golf at it, we can do the same.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 07:03 PM) wow, Sox trying to top the Tyler Clippard performance When AJ gets on the North show again, and says all I was trying to do is make contact. Someone needs to call him on it. His last AB was him nearly falling over, and swinging at crappy pitches out of the zone.
  7. AJ swinging for the ocean last inning. This team is simple minded when it comes to offensive strategy. I know the park plays small, but you dont have to physically attempt to hit a home run. This is the reason we suck at home this year. Everyone is swinging for the fences. A lot of hard hit line drives go out of this park, just like US Cellular. They need to relax a bit, and stop trying to crush every single pitch.
  8. I guess other bad teams can hit an 87 mph straight fastball after all.
  9. QUOTE(Nokona @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) My interpretation was more along the lines of Tony will always be watching his back, the feds will always be on him, and he'll always be looking out for the best for his family. He won't stop believin that everything will turn out for the best. And was the cat Adriana or Chrissy? To me that was more of that episode where Pauly heard from that Psychic that he had a bunch of dead people following him around. In a lot of folklore, cats are considered spiritual and have a gateway between the living and the dead. When the cat keeps peering at the picture, maybe the thought was he was seeing something. Noticed at the end, the cat came out and was staring at Paully sunning himself. Maybe his ghouls are sitting around watching him after all.
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 09:39 PM) This guy is a stud. People get excited about a lot of other guys, but no one has the pure potential/tools that Floyd has (and has consistently shown down in AAA....the command hasn't always been there, but he's consistently throwing in the mid 90's and flashing a plus plus curve). I have been saying since we got him, that he would need a season in AAA to rebuild the confidence and control that was destroyed by the Phills. He has a nice sinking fastball, and a good curve. If he can focus on command and keep getting confidence we have a steal there. I hope the kid can do it. The stuff is nasty.
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 09:22 PM) So I'm the only one that thought it was outstanding? Tony is about to be indicted and probably go to prison but everything is just peachy to him because he's on top, he won. His family is safe from danger, healthy and well on their way to big things and even more importantly legitimate big things. He makes it through the biggest war yet with his family fully intact and proporous. The tension created in the final scene was epic, amazing work. I liked it as well. I first had to make sure that Comcast didnt f*** up.
  12. If it was billingesy or Broxton, you get Billingsley. He is a future stud starting pitcher, and would allow us to trade something that has the most value in the majors. That plus our bevy of young pitching in the minors would make it a lot more flexible to start to part with some of the starters. Vaquez goes to the Mets for a package surrounding Milledge in the offseason. Conteras goes to someone for some infield help. Your payroll goes down, and you use the free money to bid on Buerhle if you want him back. Buerhle, Garland, Danks, Billingsley, and Gio would be raw, but would be a good starting rotation for a while. You spend all your money on Buerhle and Garland and the rest are cheap for a while.
  13. The quote before Ozzie knew there was a meeting.
  14. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 06:32 PM) SHOW SOME BALLS YOU POOR EXCUSE FOR A TEAM..................DO SOMETHING We should only be looking at selling at this point. Making a trade to make you feel good is not a good idea. This team is loosing to bad NL teams now. Its time to call it, restock the kitty and reload for next year. If Kenny trades any more of the minor league system for a rental then he is incompetent. Any trades he makes will be to serve the club for the next few years. This has been his MO for a while now. Greg should be fired immediately.
  15. I left this abortion about the 8th inning after they scored the 2nd run. For those watching at home, anyone in the park could look up and see the flags showing the wind was blowing in from left field. So what does every one of our right handed hitters do, lift the ball and try to hit a homer. If the flag is going the other way, you get a few dongs. This offense is beyond embarassing. The minute I saw Garland taken out, I started to pack up my stuff.
  16. Going to the game, with my son. Hopefully we can bring double clover luck to the park. Anyone else get the stupid grinder road trip crap, where you can sign up for a bus road trip to Kaufmann. They have enough problems getting people to see KC versus the sox here, why the hell would people get on a bus. Oh you get a tee shirt and hat though that have grinder road trip.
  17. Mike North during the baseball report has openly started to call for Greg Walkers firing.
  18. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 10:46 PM) Please fill me in. The first guy.... The guy started out what are we going to do about our future, and not this years future when posednick gets back. This season is over. Dye he is old, get rid of him. Trade Buerhle, he will fetch us something. Hopefully we dont see Podsednick next year. Its over, this season is over. The first caller did a number on Thornton also. He said he had one good year. He is a one hit wonder. Send him down. He is just as bad as the rest.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 10:47 PM) Jenks He will be fresh.
  20. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 10:47 PM) im not cutting my hair until the sox win a series, and my hair is loooooooooong. its getting like neal cotts in the back When the hair reaches the ground, remember to pin it up so you dont trip.
  21. The first caller to the PFB show has me laughing my ass off right now.
  22. The team will get booed.
  23. If you run onto the field. You should be beaten within an inch of your life, shaved head to toe, and painted purple.
