  1. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) This is it... Tonight is the Boiling Point. Someone better get freakin fired tonight. They are all family. They are not firing anyone.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 10:28 PM) Is it me, or did Gonzalez just not catch that on the fly? Looks like he played the short hop, even though he should have caught it normally. He isnt a first baseman. I am sure if you put him behind the plate he wouldnt block that well also.
  3. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 10:16 PM) Now it appears only one dependable reliever remains in our bullpen. Yet, it's going to be Bukvich time here. Where's Jenks? He only comes in when we have the lead. Which means we will see him 3 times in June.
  4. 25 pitching moves later, we get to Buckavich versus Arod. Jenks must be hanging out with Anderson. He never gets in.
  5. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 10:06 PM) For a team with a payroll over $100 million, the Sox sure do have a lot of guys who really are below average. Well it wont be 100 million next year. We will get a market correction after this year.
  6. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 10:04 PM) go for it AJ - I'm glad to see someone with some emotion on this team We have plenty of guys who do the suicide shrug and bat slam. Thats not emotion, thats just beating up inanimate objects over bad strikezone awareness.
  7. Pitch over the melon, AJ swings at it, of course, he is a white sox hitter after all. In the dirt and over the head are all fair game. Then he gets tossed out for the bat slam. Its the bats fault that he swung over his head.
  8. Konerko is out now. Who is our first baseman?
  9. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 09:52 PM) Something has to be done. Bringing up Charlotte Knights or Birmingham Barons isn't the answer. I wouldnt trade anything unless it can help us for a few years. Like with all of this new found pitching in our system, its time to give the Devil Rays a call and see if we can take something off their hands. But I wouldnt trade anyting for bullpen for this year. whats the point.
  10. Its funny how every single prospect that comes up cannot do anything but attempt to pull the outside pith.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 08:29 PM) So, from watching Molina, Owens, Sweeney, and Fields so far.....do we teach our prospects to ground out every at-bat? We teach how to lift and pull the outside pitch.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 08:28 PM) We really should trade Dye to the Mets. Well he better start hitting or he is worth more as a comp pick next year than what he will bring us this year.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 08:26 PM) Nope...we have more pitching depth in the minors than offense, yet we don't draft a single offensive player? The first 3 pitchers we took were fine....the last two were horrible picks. Meanwhile, the Tigers gave themselves a great chance to have an incredible rotation in a few seasons. I like the fact we picked up pitchers. We will get plenty of infielders back when we trade Buerhle in about a month. The only thing I would of liked was Porcell.
  14. What is the purposed of Alex Cintron playing with a bad arm. I know we are short on backups, but good lord he is horrible right now. Kicking the ball, throwing like he is a 14 year old girl.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 08:18 PM) One of the worst at-bats I've ever seen from Konerko. It's really starting to set in how bad this team is. 85 mph fastball, a curve that you can negate by not swinging at it, and a change he bounces in. Not exactly the second coming of Cy Young. But against this team, anyone is Cy Young.
  16. Mussina is throwing crap up to the plate tonight. He should of been chased by now, if we had a major league approach.
  17. I like the plus velocity of his arm. If he can throw strikes and develop a 2nd pitch he could be a good starter. If he doesnt, he will be a reliever. The only thing that stings is that Porcello was still on the board, and was selected by the Tigers.
  18. Good night Gracie. The tigers will have a sick rotation for a long long time.
  19. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 03:36 PM) I'm not too happy with Poreda, but I'm not really too mad about the pick. I guess I have low expectations from the last couple of years. At least we got a guy with upside instead of a #4 starter. Well when you are told that the GM is taking the reigns because he wants to get an impact player this year. This is an impact player, a one pitch pitcher with bad strikeout numbers. We again shy away from a top end guy because he might cost more than our usual ex-football player type.
