  1. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 09:34 PM) speaking of extremely hot wives that love the sox http://forums.di.fm/member.php?u=33561 Amen brother...!!! & we wont win again consistently until we find those type of players again! Yup we are losing this year because of a bad 3 hold hitting DH, who was so bad he got lifted from the 3 hole spot a week before the playoffs started. And then Rowand, the stats prove you wrong, but your love of him in your mind proves you right.
  2. Jerry Owens in CF. Ozzie is getting his sneak peak of his leadoff guy, who cant hit his way out of a paper bag, has no arm, and wouldnt start on 99% of the teams. Ozze cant wait to emasculate the offense next year in the name of speed. Its one thing to get a fast guy who has a nice line drive swing, takes pitches, and maybe can swipe a base or two. But he will go for the guy who cant hit, is fast, but never gets on, and is basically a paper tiger up at the top of the lineup.
  3. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 09:13 PM) Is there a reason why Ozzie sent vasquez back in with 100+ pitches and then watched him load the bases, without pulling him? magic 8 ball is on the fritz.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) We all know the season is over...but don't you think these players would have at least a little urgency tonight knowing that their season's not over, and the Twins/Tigers lost? Fathom they are urgent, urgently trying to hit some cars on the dan ryan with their ruthian swings.
  5. Here comes Neal to make sure that all the inherited runners score. Uribe has shat all over this team tonight with his D.
  6. Just to show you how rotten our offense has been. Our team is 19th in all of baseball in September in scoring runs.
  7. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 09:05 PM) Well a nice outing again by Vazquez. He deserved much better in terms of run support. Our pitching has been there for the last month. However our bats are sleeping. SSSHHHHHH Remember this team will take off the minute the pitching comes around.
  8. Uribe is throwing some leather tonight. First he drops a ball that leads to the first run, then Uribe is so worried about bailing he misses the bag. Can he be benched already.
  9. Dont any of our hitters attempt to do anything but jack the ball.
  10. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 08:58 PM) Does anyone else hate Uribe's bat toss every time he hits a can of corn to the OF? Because in his mind he thinks he went Profundo. Nice to see another pile of dung shutting down our team. The only thing that this corpseball hopefully will acomplish is the final nail in the coffin for our poor hitting coach.
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) between marte & iguchi? my lord we need help..... so if minnesota or detroits plane goes down were in? No a team made up of the Rochester team will be wearing the Twins uniforms and will be playing the Yanks in the first round.
  12. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:52 PM) that isnt a crayon...its your lipstick...red doesnt look good on you.... Thank you for bringing me back to 8th grade and the fond memories of demasculating ad hominem humor.
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:43 PM) since you arent able to have a memory here we go one more time: take notes please for gods sake! YOU RESPECT YOUR WS CHAMPION PLAYERS BY KEEPING THEM! AT LEAST THE MAJOR CONTRIBUTORS! Can I borrow the Crayon you are using. Damn KW for not keeping Timo, Willie, Marte, Viz, and El Duque. If El Duque was our 5th starter he would have like 30 wins.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:39 PM) OK you guys all convinced me...i am a dillusioned sox fan...and AROW meant nothing but bad to the team during his career...THANK GOD WE NOW HAVE THE EVERCLUTCH JIM THOME!!!!! LOL!!!! We at soxtalk sincerly apologize for insulting your mancrush. You are right, stats be damned, he is the bestest hitter and most clutch guy in the history of baseball. If he was on this team right now, he would of had a stooge convention and we would of won 140 games. Freddy would be throwing 98 mph if he had seen Rowand in CF.
  15. Uribe and his garbage average and garbage approach gets to hit. And Ross Gload who went 3 for 4 in his last start on Sunday sits on the bench trying to figure out what he needs to do to get playing time.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:35 PM) i respect Arow as a baseball player...you spit on him and bring up .230 average to support your dislike... I didnt spit on him. He was a good player, he played good defense. He however is not the demigod you make him out to be. He is not the reason that this team is not playing good. If the difference between this team making the playoffs is rowand. Then break the team up and start over, because that is retarded reason for a team to lose.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) Thornton needs to decide if he'll be a power hitter or a speed player. See that the reason Uribe plays ever day. He has decided to be a power hitter.
  18. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:32 PM) I got 5 bucks on the runner scoring from third via wild pitch. Seriously, why was Thornton taken out? Is he injured? Nope, our manager has appendagitis thought.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:30 PM) Their execution and managing is amazing tonight. The stats also don't show the late game defensive struggles that Rowand had last year. How many balls bounced in front of Rowand when he broke back on the swing. Bobby Jenks had a few blown saves againt Cleveland that come to mind.
  20. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:23 PM) ok enough already Dr. LaRussa. you are killing me with these silly stats. Arow did more with those averages than Thome has done the entire last 4 months. for that ROSS GLOAD has been better for our team in his short spell in the lineup than JT! could there be a correlation between our losing late and Arows .230 average? did we win when he hit well? hmmmm.... I really dont know how to respond to this. I use stats, and measurable evidence to support my point. And you smile and giggle at your autographed Rowand poster and dream of last year and the 3 stooges.
  21. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:22 PM) Are you kidding me Ozzie? Do you know that Thornton is much better vs righties? Ozzie is appendage retarded.
  22. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:20 PM) It also happens when you throw too many changeups up and over the plate. Whomever has come up with the approach to attack the hitters this year is border line dumb. I have never seen so many times that our pitchers get to 0-2 on a hitter, and then either put a changeup over the plate to be crushed, or they nibble and get the count back in the hitters favor.
  23. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) It happens when you try and throw a perfect game because you have an offense that forgot how to hit... these grinder rules are starting too piss me off. Did Greg Walker make them? Because all of them are about lifting, pulling, and hitting the home run. The grinder rules apply if you have an approach like the Twins. Short quick swings, get a few men on, make things happen, and get clutch hits. Greg Walker's O is so anti-grinder rules its not even funny. He is into the lift and pull O, 2 strikes swing for the dan ryan, bases loaded, swing for the dan ryan.
  24. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) The Sox are once again getting their asses handed to them but hey they won it all last year, so you really can't complain about this disgrace of a second half. Well the Ozzeroo with another great pitching decision. 8th inning after 4 runs given up, lets keep the starter in there. Kalapse, did you see where Cooper was on the pregame and was saying that Freddy wasnt healthy for most of the year. And he is finally feeling good, and didnt want to miss a start because he is a gamer. The excuses and the pitty party for the 2006 whitesox have begun.
