Joe has had the popumups. Joe needs to figure out how to center up the ball again. -

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 05:25 PM) wish I could see this game, O's are racking up the hits on Garland. He must be leaving it up, and it seems like he's behind in the count a lot. Garland needs to get ahead of hitters to be successful. If he gets behind constantly he will get hurt. He also needs to leave that change on hold when he gets to 0-2 or 1-2 on batters. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 05:14 PM) I hope he does this much more often. With the bullpen we have, we can afford to let the pen pitch 4-5 innings in some games. As long as they have the pen ready tomorrow from the 5th inning on then I am okay with this. Javy third time around is a mess. -

Why is bmac up today when we have a 6 run lead. Why would we keep him ready for tomorrow when 5 inning Javy is pitching. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 05:10 PM) Yes, he has been. The Orioles have had good swings against him. He hasn't thrown a good changeup all game. He should throw the change early in the count. And then use his sinker when he gets 2 strikes. -

When you are so bad, that the Arizona Diamondbacks are paying you are large amount of money, yet have decided to eat that money and not have you pitch for them.... So whats the over/under on Ortiz getting DFA'd by the Orioles this week. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 04:55 PM) I feel guilty complaining about it (probably sounds funny coming from me), but Dye's defense is real bad. He has no range out there, and his arm has been very disappointing since he's been with the Sox. Something that's been hurting him recently is he's not charging the ball well at all. It's making it very easy for teams to run at will on him. His defense is fine. His range going left to right has been poor. But he has been great going back on the ball. The defense was shaded to the left there, and we had threw the ball away. It was pitching against how the defense is setup. And then Dye dongs it away. I love this. -

Conine slammed the bat down on that pitch thinking he didnt get it. That was a two seamer that came back over the plate. Just bad location. -

QUOTE(Reddy @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 04:50 PM) no i know what ya mean, i'd miss em if they werent there, they're a staple of a whitesox game, but still... they're effing terrible! The worst commercial bar none, is the dumb one with the guy who just won the American Idol. The dancing silver haired lounge singer. Its horrible. -

Notice Jon is going in on right handers. This is what he did last year in the first half to make him so successful. Pound them in, back them up, and let the sinker run. -

Now Jon can be aggressive with the strikezone and get ahead and let his sinker do the work. -

Our hitters have recoginzied a pitcher who is definately pitching away from contact. Gooch goes oppo and our offense wakes up. I love it. Now think about this. Russ Ortiz is the next pile of dung they will take out of bullpen. -

Nice line drive by AJ. This is exactly what we have to do with RISP. Not try and hit a home run, just get a single or double and keep the line moving. This is encouraging. -

This rook has one pitch that he can throw for a strike. All that Mazzone is having him do, is pitch away from contact and go low and away. A few of our hitters last inning figure that out and didnt do too much with it. If its in, pull it. If its away hit it up the middle or oppo. Eventually this kid will miss location over the middle of the plate and get rocked. We just need our hitters to make better decisions than Pods did in the last inning. 2-0 with a pitcher that is all over the plate, and mighty mouse decides to swing. vomits
