Pods, then Crede and then Cintron in the 10th. Pods at DH is as funny as having Timo as the DH last year in Yankee stadium. Pods needs to get on, then Crede needs to jack one. And then Cintron needs to go back to back.

Nice pitch.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) The kid is NASTY, I am a big fan of him. Great arm, great stuff, control is iffy. If he trusts his stuff and throws it near the plate he will be fine. If he gets into hitters counts, someone will kill his fastball. He is only like what 22.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:40 PM) Did someone steal your screen name? I've seen more positive posts from you in the last minute than I have in a while. Well done I am in the middle of moving my datacenter. The DC was supposed to be ready from construction today, however when I went over there. We are just missing electric, a ceiling, and an air conditioning unit. We move in 2 weeks. So with that on my plate, the sox are nothing to fret about.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:38 PM) I call bullspiff. It was the right move to go to Thorton, Matt just had a bad night. I bet you if he left MacDougal in there, people would have called for Matt, saying Ozzie is mismanaging this game. I gaurentee it. The formula is one inning of mac, one of thornton and one of jenks. We heard the same thing on Sunday from people saying, why did we pull thornton after such an easy inning. Hard throwers sometimes get dinked and dunked. It happens. Matt has been pretty damn good for us all year long.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:37 PM) The Sox need a K here. Thornton has a much better chance at that than Riske. Will Ozzie play the infield in? Actually with 1 out we needed a double play. Which we got. Good call there.

It was a walk on a pitch that should of been a strikeout. 1 single up the middle, a flair to left. And a ball that someone couldnt of thrown better. Lets not get crazy on how this is the end of the world. Mark pitched great. If he can pitch like this we are headed in the right direction.

gosh darn

It looked also like it was a strike anyways.

I love the MacDougal pickup. We now have 3 guys at the end of a game that can all close, all have 98+ capabilities. Are all strikeout guys, and have completely different looks. No pen can really say that.

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 07:56 PM) So you're completely dismissing any chance of a political process to work in a peaceful Lebanon? Then why didn't we go into Lebanon in 2003 when we were fighting terror over in the middle east? They actually have a legit terrorist organization operating at the time with government approval. The reason a political process has a chance to work is the same reason it worked in the Cedar Revolution. Because the people deemed it necessary and important to do what was done. This was a people power revolution, and sometimes all changes take some time to fully accomplish what was set out. The revolutions in Iraq and Lebanon are not at all comparable, we agree there. One took place three years ago and the results of which are still as violent as the current Israel/Hezbollah conflict. One had a new government democratically elected which coalesced fairly rapidly. The other took 6 months to form a cabinet and prime minister from election results. One government was able to provide some social services and provide a relative internal peace and security for its people. The other hasn't and still doesn't. In terms of revolutions, I think we saw the successful one destroyed this past month. What political process. Here is a quick snipet of the problem. Israel has some Hezbolla terrorist in jail. So Hezbollah decides to snatch a few soldiers and figures that they will give some terrorist a get out of jail free card. You see this happened before, so good will was seen as a weakness and they exploited it again. So this time Israel hit back and hit back hard. Hezbolla is a terrorist organization, and much like Criminals they are not a nation, or do they use a code of conduct or ethics in their operations. Their entire world revolves around the day that the entire Arab world destroys Israel and drives the jews into the sea. Yet eveyone thinks that over some dougnuts, and some coffee a common ground can be seen. If you want peace in the middle east, convince the jews to move. And because that aint going to happen, then we need to either get the arabs to get over their little tiff with them or this will keep happening over and over.

My favorite wrestlers were the Von Ericks.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 08:54 PM) I think I know who you're referring to. I can't wait for the September roster call-ups just to add a few pieces that can really help (more speed on bench, 3rd catcher, etc.). The Knights are going to go to the playoffs like last year I think, so I wouldnt wait on the call ups. Last year they didnt arrive for a few weeks in september.

Let the liners go through. Yikes. Well we are into the Royals bullpen. Let us feast on medicore pitchers.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) I liked it when Kane set JR on fire and didn't do s--- to his body. No explanation, either, for how JR went unhurt, and the storyline died shortly thereafter. I always did prefer ECW. ECW was great.

This kid pitching for the royals has a nice arm. No control around the plate, but a nice arm. If he can control his fastball he might be a good middle reliever, but then again there are a ton of guys with great arms and no control out there.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) The next ball that lands in teh seats i blame on you. Too irish to be bad luck.

Odalis Perez was a nice pickup for the Royals. If he can get his slider over he is a tough pitcher. Farmer was saying that he is now throwing a splitter also. He was had for pretty much nothing also. Buerhle is looking better today. Its the royals though, but this is a good start.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 12:00 PM) That's my main problem with his defense. A lot of guys go 1st to 3rd on him, too, for that very reason. A lot of baserunners go first to third on a single. Unless you have an absolute cannon or the guy is slow you cant get that throw on the money for the out. Pods you can criticize for his D. But Anderson and Dye have done a great job this year.

I enjoyed the last batman the most out of all of them. I think Bale did a great job of playing a darker more human Bruce Wayne/Batman. I dont know how Heath Ledger will work out, but I cant wait till this movie comes out. And how the last one ended with the Joker card you had to know what was coming.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:59 AM) Let me bounce something off you regarding Dye's speed. I may be totally off the mark here, because I haven't seen any games in person and I only get to see the occasional game on TV but Dye has always seemed to me to be the type with deceptive speed. In other words, he's actually moving faster than he appears to be because he moves fluidly or apparently effortlessly. Yas, I would break down Dye and his moves on the outfield as such. His ability to move back on a ball is great. He gets great reads, and can pick up the fence well. His ability to move forward is pretty good, some balls drop. But what can you do. I think his only issue is moving to the foul pole to foul pole. He seems to have his problems moving left to right. I would suspect that is a 2 point issue. One being were he positions himself defensively. And the other reason is that with the injury issues with his leg, I am sure the movement left to right is still not the same, nor ever will be. I think that Dye does a great job out in RF. He isnt the fastest guy, but I think with his moves back towards the fence he saves a lot more balls than he ever gives up.

Thank god the weight of the trade deadline is off their collective backs so they can start to play good ball. Brady Clark would of caught that. But Mr. Dergan has a hot wife, is a singles hitter, who cant steal, and cant field. Glad we have him over Clark. Just put fishing Mack in LF and be done with it.

One more thing. Remember everyone this is the royals, a glorified AAAA team. We should dominate them, and leave them aside, like the Tigers do. So if our pitching shuts this team down dont get excited like they have turned the corner. Lets see how they do in the next few series against good teams that can hit. Our pitching needs to dominate the AAAA Royals. If they get rocked against this, yuck.

Sweep or bust.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) 5 year grace period!? There is a team on the northside that doesnt care if their team wins also. They have had almost a 100 year grace period.
