  1. Career vs the sox. In 110 games he has a .322BA with a .395 OBP with .602 slugging for a .996 OPS. He has crushed 28 dongs(most against any team) and has 90 RBI or almost 1 rbi per game against us. Maybe we should pick another poison to beat us. We have only IBB him 3 times in his career. Here are some other splits Buerhle he has a .353 BA with a 1.147 OPS Garcia he has a .435BA with a 1.1317 OPS Garland he has a .341BA with a 1.189 OPS The Count has shut him down with a .250BA and a .641 OPS From the Relief group. Politte came into today with a .429 BA and a 1.587 OPS Jenks he only faced 4 times but has a .750BA with a 1.750 OPS He pretty much is like facing Barry Bonds everytime we face him when you look at these sick numbers. Hopefully Ozzie and the staff will pick someone else to beat us, because pretty much Mike is as good as it gets when he faces the sox. Hopefully we pretty much give him nothing to hit tomorrow.
  2. More Mack in right. Our pitching better shut out the Royals tomorrow.
  3. Remember a division title isnt won in April, but we cant bury ourselves in April this year. The Indians went on a silly run where they beat people at an xbox clip. This division is too tough to bury ourselves in April.
  4. Clutch hitting. It seems that we have hard times hitting line drives. Our hitter launch pitches into the air, come June yes these pitches will go out, but it isnt June yet. We need to work the count more, and get some line drive swings on the ball. Again put the ball on the outside corner and you will shut this team down. It has been the same thing for years. We are still hitting like the softball team we had before. Come June and July this team will put on a home run display like you havent seen before. Hopefully we dont bury ourselves by then.
  5. QUOTE(Bhay99 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 03:01 PM) we had 1-4 stretches last year, they just werent to begin the season....chill out If you are playing the Yanks, the Bosox, the Angels that is great. But when you start losing to the f***ing Royals. And get 2 hit for most of the game by a Royals pitcher, then maybe we can get a bit upset. Thank god we went on the road, The Royals have been a trip so far, wait till we get to Detroit.
  6. This f***ing sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully Kenny comes down for a chat.
  7. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 02:50 PM) Nobody in the major leagues would walk a guy with a guy on first, no outs, and a 1-run lead. Nobody. So if Barry bonds was up in the same situation you would challenge him. LOL How many times have you seen this situation with Sweeny unfold. Some guys are allstars against a certain team. Guess what Sweeney has that when he plays the sox.
  8. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 02:43 PM) It was a slider/change down and away. What would you propose he do? Walk him?Grudz got a bloop hit on a good pitch and Sweeney hit a HR on a ball low and away. Is this the first time you have seen Mike Sweeney do this to the sox. Pretty much he is single man wrecking crew for the Royals against the sox. He is a certifyable sox killer. I know that you just believe that Sweeney magically he just got a shamrock shoved up his ass because it must of been dumb luck that he parked that ball. It doesnt shock me to see this. When you face the royals you dont pitch to Sweeney. You sure as hell dont pitch to him with the game on the line at the end of the game.
  9. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) Just been that type of week. Two good pitches. 2 runs. Even the Hawkerooo doesnt put this kind of spin on it. You dont throw the Sweeney with the game on the line. How many years has he been in the league. How many times has he done this. Maybe someone else beat you.
  10. At some point maybe Ozzie will put down his ego and not continue to challenge sweeney. He beats us all the time. DUMB
  11. This is what happens when you stop trying to park s*** into the stands.
  12. Brian Anderson works the count, hits a line drive into right center. Now that is the approach we need today, line drives so they dont get hung up. Lets get that run in.
  13. Vaz has shown the best effort of the year so far. Nice first start, hopefully one of many. Note to other starters, pitch like this and we will be fine. Note to offense, get your head out of your backside and get something going.
  14. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 02:03 PM) this is why baseball is so frustrating. Without this horrible wind, we would be winning be several runs. But instead we are losing to one of the worst teams in the game. Rock our hitters know the wind is blowing in. Yet they keep teeing off trying to park it into the stands. You have to play to your conditions. When the wind is blowing in hitting homers are going to be difficult so you need to manufacture offense. Vaz has pitched well and doesnt deserve this outcome. Hopefully our hitters get their head out of their asses and start to try a new thing and string a few hits together. We have had the leadoff man on for the last couple of innings and havent done a thing with it.
  15. Its nice to see a terrible team with one of the worst pitching staffs in baseball completely shut down our supposed good offense. 2 f***ing hits. Wait till we face Santana
  16. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:12 PM) No guarantee that Gload would have gotten that ball with the wind whipping around like that. We should figure out how the Royals left fielder was able to get to balls hit to left.
  17. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:04 PM) They just didn't find the holes dude. Bad luck. Its kewl for our leadoff hitter to constantly put the ball in the air for power. Very major league II. Think about how rested his legs can get just doing to home run trot.
  18. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 09:44 PM) I have a feeling that Podsednik's nagging injuries will be around all season. Frankly, I'm pretty sick of it and I wouldn't mind starting Mackowiak in LF against all righties and trading Podsednik off. Just get a righty hitting outfielder not named Ozuna that can play some defense to platoon with Mackowiak in LF. How about someone that can catch a ball in left. That would be better than Ozuna. Ozuna did the same thing last year with Jon on the bump here in a day game against the Royals at third. He kicked the ball around, Jon got rattled, and then got rocked. If Pods is hurt, DL him, put Mack out in LF and bring up some help. We cant play every game short staffed.
  19. The funny thing is that people are saying. Well this doesnt matter we have plenty of games left. In how tight this division will be we cannot afford to give s*** away like this. We do not play well in August for the last few years. We will have to play lights out at that point against some tough competition if we s*** the bed in April. The more the Indians and the Tigers and the Twins win, and we play like this. The more they believe that last year was a fluke and they are the better team. We should be 3-1 now.
  20. We are about to give the Royals their first victory of the year. We also will be tied with the Royals for last place. KEWL
  21. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) The good news is Vazquez has a 1.20 career ERA against KC. He will keep that ERA if our starters are playing and playing well defensively.
  22. Well we are playing the same way as the last time we played the Royals in September.
