QUOTE(aboz56 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 08:38 AM) It's a good song, but it has nothing to do with this game thread. Therefore, it is damn creepy for someone to start a game thread with imagine lyrics. Also, how can someone like both the Red Sox and the White Sox? Now if it was Pantera/AC-DC/Metallica thats different. LETS BEAT THE CRAP OUT THEM -
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) Dustin looking like a real closer today. Dustin Looked Filthy

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 03:05 PM) D.J.'s homerun calls definitely need some work. On a side note, I love Iguchi. :uhoh

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 02:56 PM) Just able to get online now, but why in the f*** did Ozzie use Cotts and Cliff so soon? On what planet are Cotts and Cliff the middle relievers to get to Marte and Viz, the set-up men? Just what I was thinking. Cotts and Cliff are middle mop up men and now Marty Party and Jizzcan are the guys in the middle of the mix at the end.
-
Jizzcan in. This makes no sense.
-
God Damn Marty Party. Geoff Blumm saves Marty Party.
-
Crede has been a bit shakey lately on the easy plays. He makes the hard ones and then bones the easy ones with men on. Is the back more of a problem than he is letting on.

Sox agreed to trade for Griffey Jr.

QUOTE(VAfan @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) And I believe the Sox will still be kicking ass in 2008 with Chris Young in the outfield and Brandon McCarthy on the mound. So we should take a gamble on a bad offense getting lucky and our pitching shutting people down because you want to project the Whitesox in 2008. You have got to be focking kidding me. 2008, are you for real. No world series title since 1917, have a good chance at going deep in the playoffs. But fock that, lets not get rid of one of our 5 or 6 OF prospects that are in AA or below. You realize that only 3 OF can play at a time right. Arow is young, Pods is 29 and isnt going anywhere. 2008, LOL -
QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) you cant win em all, sox will win tomorrow, mark my word We are facing a call up from AA. His first start was against the good hitting Texas team. He 2 hit them over 5 innings with 6Ks. He is a very hard throwing guy. Mid 90's but can step it up to upper 90s at times. OH YEAH WE ARE GOING TO DO WELL AGAINST HIM :uhoh

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) I'm making 1 comment in here and that's it. They're in a funk right now I don't buy the crap that they suck at home because of big crowds that's just bs to me. The Sox haven't been playing that well as of late and good thing we ran into baltimore who's been playing a lot worse. Once we right the ship which will happen soon then everything will fall back into place, on the road and at home. We have played well on the road. Its not the big crowds. Its the homerdomes attraction.

QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) Pods' last at bat, I said to my dad... "He's really slumping lately, he should try and bunt his way on." But no, he stands there and strikes out. :headshake Pods is batting .111 for his last 7 days with a OBP of 200

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) Our 3-4 contributed for all of our runs tonight. He's not making any moves. All of our runs tonight were courtesy of the dong. I guess misheard Gene when he said tonight "On your feet whitesox fans for your 2004 Whitesox"

QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) Had some computer problems during the game, but just wanted to come back and say that 8th inning at bat for Crede was f***ing pathetic. He had no plan. Usually if the guy goes away the first two pitches, you should adjust and look away. Considering that just about every single pitcher throws the sox away they would get a clue. But I guess they think they can get around on that pitch on the outside corner.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) And sometimes it can go into a double play............ I guess the K with the man on second is much more productive then.
-
QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) i'm sorry for having some faith in the best sox team we've had in a long time. how dare i I am not worried about them losing the division. That would be a collapse of record holding magnitude. I am worried about our reliance on the longball. Our hitters are not shortening their swings up at all with 2 strikes. This is probably why so many of our hitters have low BA, lots of homers and a lot of strikeouts. Men on, less than 2 outs, shorten the swing up a bit and make contact. If you put the ball in play sometimes the ball can fall.
-
We have lost 9 out of 13 at home. No execution. Thank god our division is as wide as it is or its the usual August swoon.
-
QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) The umps what can i say we would have won 3-1 if it wasent for them Bush was weak tonight. We should of scored like 7 runs against him. We became the 2000-2004 softball team.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan13 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) Wow, Carl Everett looks embarrasing at the plate. Check out the Griffey thread and people were saying that there is no where to play Griffey because we already have a DH. LOL

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) He's in a funk. Get off his back. We're losing. Wow. The world is over! Let's start Timo and Willie and Widge the rest of the year! :rolly The last series we won at home is now when we played Tampa. We got swept against the A's We lost 2 out of 3 against the Tigers We split against the Bosox We now have lost this series. Maybe just maybe when we come home we become a softball team. 3 runs on a 1-5 pitcher. come on I am sorry 2-5 now. We have men on multiple times and strand them. I wish we would go back to what we did in the first half to win. Play this smartball. Our offense now is the 2000-2004 Corpseball offense at home.

Its Marty Party time.

QUOTE(TheHammer @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 08:39 PM) The only thing true about this is the 9 million part. Konerko hits about the same with runners on or no runners on and of course he gets on base and slugs well above the league average in both situations. I guess the best way to put it would be to say he struggles with runner on because he does not hit well when there is one runner on. When there are two runners on or the bases loaded he is hitting like .350. If he only hit HRs he would have 25 hits. He has 100 hits, and the bigger percentage of his you have as HRs the better though. Check out his hitting chart at the cell or as I call it the sea of blood at third. He is a one dimensional pull monkey. If you want to shut him down and the rest of the squad spot a fastball on the outside corner. He will try and pull it, no matter how outside. Check out master Crede there. He had a typical pull monkey AB. Spinning around on one knee. This is what happens when a person trys to pull and outside pitch. If you go up there and try and hit the outside pitch up the middle and to center you are much better off. But hey Kong hits a lot of homers. So he must be good.
-
Can someone, for the love of god, with 2 strikes please not try and take a full home run cut.
-
QUOTE(TheHammer @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) Since when do fans rate players a the games? Fans cheer for Paul Konerko because they want him to succeed. But I am referring to the fans who completly bash Konerko for this contrived reasons. They have built a strawman and named him Konerko and boy can they tear that strawman down. 9 million dollars for a man who only hits homers and struggles with men on.
