QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) Well he should be is different than he is. Trust me. I'm a duque fan and know he has nothing right now and should be switching roles with McCarthy, but that isn't what happened. Can't count a guy in the rotation who isn't there because Ozzie is not the brightest bulb. No hard feelings though. Just a nice debate. Just something I ran across today, 4 of our starters are in the top 15 in the AL in terms of ERA+. That is pretty damn impressive. Add a McCarthy that actually throws a changeup to that and you have the best starting rotation in the leauge. I will give you that they've underperformed since the break though.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 12:50 AM) Unfortunately, not all of those banned members are (likely) aware of Soxtalk. When I look at this situation it really bugs me I have to criticize a fellow White Sox board. My hatred for their administrators and their odd, often unfair punishments and rules make it difficult to ignore. If anyone believes beer or myself are lying, or overstating PHG's lunacy, by all means check the Roadhouse thread out yourself and make your own judgments. Not even Iwritecode or Steff could spin this radical move. I'm trying to achieve the unprecedented record of being banned without a single post by use of a demoralizing challenge for a member name.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 11:47 PM) favorite line from Jackie Brown? I love that movie. That s***'ll rob you of your ambitions. Not if your ambition is to get high and watch T.V.

Grinder Rule #10 (revised): Only one stat matters: W. That is, of course, until a stat is invented to accurately measure how certain managerial decisions will affect our players feelings. Under those circumstances, two stats will matter.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 11:08 PM) Quite simply, it raises the need of pushing back the fences once again, but that's not gonna happen. It's no coincidence that we have a better road record. We're not built to play in our own park.

that's about it.

QUOTE(Hermanson32 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) It's dusgusting if El Duque is making his next start. Brandon has done more than enough at this point to be our fifth starter. By the way, I love this site so far. Way better than White Sox Interactive which I was kicked off of for the same comment I just made. Welcome aboard. You'll have to do a lot worse to be booted here.

If that post didn't make you smile, you have no soul.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) I said rotation. McCarthy isn't in our rotation last time I checked. Well he is what he is and he's on our team. He should be in and considered a member of our starting rotation at this point in the season but whether or not that happens is up to Ozzie.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) Let's check the ERA of our staff the past 30 days. Garland: 4.35 Buehrle: 3.86 Garcia: 4.32 Hernandez: 6.59 Contreras: 2.72 Care to rethink that statement because the only dominating one I see in there is Count. Our 2nd best pitcher can't do anything against elite teams. Hernandez has been sucking majorly. Garland and Garcia are nothing better than mediocre. And remember, this is the last 30 days, not just this month. Roger Clemens' ERA for the last 5 starts is 4.45. He's not a dominant pitcher I guess. Replace El Duque with McCarthy because we have no reason not to believe that the McCarthy with the major league change up isn't a better pitcher at this time.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) If that's a dominating Starting Rotation, we're sure as hell in trouble. If that's? What are you talking about? This weekend? Cause that would be such a good representation of what they are.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:00 PM) And that strength doesn't look so strong anymore. Yes it does. We still have a dominating starting rotation and solid bullpen.
-
Here's the thing, after tonight, the first six batters in their lineup will have a batting average right at or above our leading hitter. And every single one of them has a better slugging percentage. The Indians have a good ability to win games two ways, we for the most part can win games only on the strength of our pitching.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) According to another post, Ozzie said Duque will make his next start. Willie's reaction upon hearing this:

That would be idiotic.
