  1. QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) Blue moon on tap is all over the place, so is guinness, now PBR and Blatz on tap, is another story. Is it common for Blue Moon to be served with an orange wedge?
  2. Freddy has terrible splits against the Royals, Contreras owns the Royals, and El Duque's only seen them once. I hope we at least win the series.
  3. Timo was tied for second in outfield assists last year with 8, trailing only Carlos who had 11 and played in all but 14 games. Converted most double plays from the outfield, 4. Timo also had a better range factor in RF than Borchard, who most would consider a decent RF. He's not spectacularly quick in the outfield but I don't think he should be called a bad outfielder. Especially since he played at least 12 games in each outfield position. Any other guy on this team would be given leeway in adjustment period.
  4. I'm with others in here that Ozzie should not field any question that involves Magglio Ordonez or Carlos Lee in any way, shape, or form.
  5. Yeah, there are way too many casual fans, especially on the half-price nights.
  6. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) Plaske did nothing but bash the dodgers in the offseason. He knows baseball. :rolly Now I'm not so pleased that he thinks we will beat the Twins...
  7. Plaschke likes our chances, Smith does not. Smith says Twins will win the division like the past 3 years, Smith gets the point from Statboy.
  8. QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) still in. haha, he gets eliminated before the chisox topic.
  9. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) Oh Noes!! hopefully Mariotti is gone still in.
  10. KC goes up 9-8 in the top of the ninth. Yes!
  11. If we don't take the Royals too lightly, we should improve even more. Great past two series Sox.
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 09:53 AM) Well it's not like Garland has been winning because the pitchers he's faced have been bad, he's thrown 3 solid games. He's actually faced 3 pretty good pitchers so far in: Radke, Pineiro and Ledezma, though not all of them have pitched that great as you pointed out. I agree that even if he would have faced better pitchers in these three games, he still would have a winning record. But if he slips off this pace, which is expected, he should still have the ability to churn out more wins than he would in previous years.
  13. At Garland's spot in the rotation, he'll have the opportunity to win more games. He did face an ace in Radke once, but even he's pretty inconsistent from year to year. I'm not trying to take anything away from him, because he's pitched extremely well. But the combined ERA of the pitchers that he's matched up with so far is 5.84.
  14. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) It's to early to say "I told you so," but I.... You predicted this?
  15. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 10:53 PM) Team batting average = .232 But they're going to be an offensive powerhouse this year.
  16. 0-4 with a 3.81 ERA. Ouch.
  17. I sure hope Bonderman doesn't strike 14 of us out again.
  18. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) I'll give my props to Neal Cotts. While going an inning and giving up nothing when you're up 9-1 isn't that big of a deal, we just need him to give us some innings and a reasonable ERA (Hell, if he can give us a 5.00 ERA over the season, I'll be not thrilled, but happy). The kid can pitch, and when he gets going, he'll be a big help to our bullpen. When he has that fastball/slurve working, he's really hard to hit. Let's hope he can spot those pitches with more regularity... A game like that and Cotts gets two paragraphs.
  19. One thing I noticed on the top plays video is that after Crede hit the double to make it 1-0, Jaque Jones runs all the way in from right to tap Crede on the ass with his glove. I couldn't tell if he said anything.
