  1. QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 07:50 AM) The Dotel Cinderella Story ended last night. I figured that his career numbers and lack of raw stuff catch up with him at some point, and he magically morphed back into a pumpkin in the 8th inning. Dotel had an outstanding April and May, and has had his share of moments since... but his numbers have steadily trended downward since. He just can't be trusted to hold leads right now. When he has a bad outing, he either turns a small lead into a two-run deficit or completely takes us out of a games that are within reach. I pray that Linebrink is able to return soon, as I have no idea who in the heck would be a better 7th or 8th inning option right now. Lack of raw stuff is not Dotel's problem. When ever you have a lot more K's than innings pitched like Dotel , you got good stuff. It's just location location location.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 10:40 PM) I realize Dotel has been very good in some games. But are you aware we haven't reached the postseason since acquiring these former Royals pitchers including our new reliever to go with MacStiff? Hope they aren't a jinx. Look up Royals in the dictionary and you see the word "loser." The Sox never reach the post season without at least 5- 10 years between appearances . If they make it this year it will be the 1st time ,since they started a playoff system, that they've made 2 appearances in less then a 5 year span. So there's no Royals reliever jinx.
  3. I remember Bo catching a fly ball on the dead run in deep left field and running up to near the top of the padded wall like it was nothing .
  4. Wasted opportunities early ,bullpen implodes . 9-4 Rays, Twins leading 8-0 back , Sox in second place for a day.

  6. Lefties and righties both hitting less than .150 against Balfour and he K's half of the batters he retires.
  7. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 06:14 PM) What up with Bradford's Giambi white trash stache? You have to be clean shaven or have a soul patch not to be considered white trash ?
  8. Lefties hitting.340 against Bradford.
  9. Swish got nothing but off speed pitches that AB.
  10. 4 straight games with a HR.
  11. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 06:17 PM) Time to make a dent in the Rays this inning. Thank you I'm here all week.
  12. Eddie Fisher is answer to Aflac Trivia
  13. Time to make a dent in the Rays this inning.
  14. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 09:37 PM) Willie has a career high 10 homers this year. Only 17 in his career I believe. Congrats to him, and the game winning run in the World Series. 12 now . Hit 2 today including his 1st career grannie to help the Nats whup up on the Cubs today 13-5 in the ninth.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 07:04 AM) Since June 1 45-27 .625 Wpct Since June 11 42-20 .677 Wpct (over a full year, that would equal a 109-110 win season!) I was miffed watching the Twinkies beat the Angels in Anaheim in 12 innings. The Angels had 2 hits in the 1st inning then only managed 3 more hits in the next 11 innings.
  16. Game images for win #73 : Griffey with his 1st Chisox HR , #609 ties him with Sammy Sosa for 5th all-time. Swisher (20) with career HR #100 , 3 games in a row with a HR, teammates give him the cold shoulder in the dugout so he does the spinning , jumping back bump with an invisible teammate. Ramirez (14)and Pierzynski (12) both hit 3 run HR's. Ramirez has reached base in 15 straight games. 5 wins in a row , 8 out of 9, outscoring opponents 55-10 over last six home games. Gavin Floyd win #13 which leads the team. Bullpen : 3 innings, 0 runs, 1 hit, 0 walks, 4 K's. Swept the series with the Mariners. Final score White Sox 15 Mariners 3.
  17. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Aug 20, 2008 -> 08:21 AM) Gavin Floyd looks like a weirdo with a shaved head. Hopefully he can over come it and get a win. My avatar is a monument to that very fact.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 12:46 PM) Leave this thread open, I will do It was more fun when you closed it Obi Wan.
  19. 72-53. Season high 19 games over .500. Clayton Richard 1st ML win with 6 shutout innings. Thome, Swisher with HR's. White Sox 5 Mariners 0. Cell magic continues.
  20. I predict Quentin will be a solid candidate for MVP as will Ramirez for ROY. Gavin will shave his head after his 12th win in August. There will be shaving cream pies all over the damn place after wins. Crede will be an All-Star then have a back relapse and Uribe will take over at 3rd and will do a credible enough job not to piss off all of Soxtalk except Dick Allen .
  21. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 07:55 PM) Glad I didn't listen to certain members and went ahead and wathed the game tonight. Nice job Richard and offense. :gosoxretro: You mean you actually take some of these guys seriesly ?
