I think Venable and the clubhouse don't care as much as cancel culture does. A HR there makes it easier for the Sox to win. As a player in a team game he knows this and his team mates know it. Haters post about it to actually stay negative bout the good vibes. It's nothing as is usually the case when blowing everything out of proportion and expecting perfection. Some of you seem to be the sensitive ones.

The White Sox on the season are now 88-78. They finally made it to 10 games above .500 .

Playoff baseball has been more and more reliant on bullpens for a while now. The Sox took it to the next level by basically saying lets lean on our strengths as much as possible and play matchups as much of the game as possible. Since 2024 MLB has been putting it out there that starting pitchers should pitch a certain amount of innings and Max Scherzer said starters should throw 100 pitches. Of course this is all nonsense. But I wouldn't put it past MLB to screw with some rules that punishes a team for utilizing openers . There are a lot of traditionalist still out there. I took an MLB survery around the All-Star game and there were a few questions about new rules for starting pitchers mostly about if ,as a fan, would I be in favor of it ? I said no because you're trying to cancel the use of analytics to help teams find an edge just like how you outlawed the shift. Plus success with it doesn't mean it can be easily duplicated. I thought there wasn't a chance that Taylor would pitch after one day of rest from going 4 innings. He certainly wasn't as crisp but managed to get some outs on hard hit balls. Ballsy move but if the Sox had lost Venable knew he'd have to shoulder the responsibility for it and went for it !

Also Vasil hassled him for the no family thing too because he's got parents. But Vasil doesn't need much to yank your chain.

Those offers will go up once they finish off Cleveland then cash out. Or maybe wait to when TB finishes off the Yankees see if the Sox can steal game 1 of the ALCS . Of course if that happens will you cash out ? Also seems like at the beginning of the season you would 've got better odds. So bet $250 to win division but $500 each on ALCS and World Series. Did you make the ALCS and WS bets later ? Just seems backwards like if they lost the division and didnt make the playoffs you automatically lose your $500 ALCS and WS bets.

There's a free option if you have a Android TV and use a TV browser I've been using all season and in the 1st round. Im used to it but it might seem complex or take some getting used to for a newbie. But Im old and I figured it out . I won't say what it is unless someone wants to message me. But for a must watch every game guy like me it was like manna from heaven.

Sandlin too and if they can get Schultz to step up that will signicantly improve their chances against the Guardians.

It's for sure a different openers strategy than was employed during the season. Now its like opener and let's go with matchups the best we can. But sooner or later it'll be hard not to pitch guys that aren't great matchups. It's pretty unique to Venables style of managing and managing starting pitchers who have problems going past 5 innings and are somewhat gassed. It worked perfectly against the Astros but its harder to duplicate in a longer series. The more arms you throw out there the more likely you are to find one that implodes. For the Sox to win the series they're going to have to prevent Messick and Williams from dominating them and win the match ups battle. Cleveland has also used their running game pretty extensively against the White Sox. They will put much more pressure on the Sox defense. Sox may have to step up their running game . We may see Venable go back to bunting if runs are at a premium when approaching mid game.

In 5 games against Cleveland Hudson gave up 4 singles , 0 run ,1 BB, 6 K, .211 BAA, .250 OBP, .211 SLG ,.461 OPS, 5 IP Taylor got bounced around pretty good in 6 innings 9.45 ERA.

Unfortunately the clinging to this heartbreak over the embarrassment of 2024 and refusing to acknowledge that they are the broken ones, not the White Sox. You can't let emotions in sports rule your perspectives as a fan. Having said that getting all wrapped up in a winning team is what drives you to attend games and buy merchandise so it's not easy to divorce yourself and become a dispassionate diehard such as myself and why I have problems with and run-ins with the "haters". You need to absorb almost everything White Sox related and do your best not to become biased by tunnel vision such has "It's all bad "or "it's all good." You can't be blinded by perception that because someone was a part of a failed organization and the department they were heading means they did a bad job. There are good people in bad organizations who never have the power to do things their way. So while on the surface it looks bad, as fans we aren't privy to how much power Getz actually had under Hahn and Williams and Reinsdorf. we think we know he sucked and because of that ignorant biased view every little thing he did went under a microscope by those letting emotion cloud their thought processes and that was easily the majority of this community and why I labeled it Tox-Talk for its emotional toxic nature. And like any individual working under financial constraints you have to do things unconventionally so your efforts dealing with MLB castor players is again perceived as bush league . Look how often we heard the Sox should keep Robert & Crochet. It's extremely difficult not to want instant success so you can have those joyous feelings back again, but these things take time. I got responses such as I don't care , just win . Any mistakes from the past were brought up as reasons to distrust everything from medical staff , trainers,analytics, coaching methods and of course front office people. We are still years away from having a productive Latin America talent pipeline. Many were saying that the Bannister magic wore off as if turning little talent pitching into studs was so easy . Lots of people rather complain about bums we didn't try to get or the guys we traded away were all superstars in the making who were invisible to us until they become part of a trade. Then it becomes a clash of who's the bigger whiners the ones criticizing every little thing or the one criticizing the whiners for not seeing the "vision" Getz and his new employees (Venable especially) would often talk about that they all believed in . If you believed that vision too as a fan you were a cultist drinking White Sox kool-aid, too stupid and hypnotized by Sox propaganda to think independently. It was all actually very frightening how the power structure here was so abusive towards a few in the minority willing to speak about their perspective that tried very hard to keep an open mind about Getz rebuilding the organization from the ground up and surrounding himself with people who could help mitigate his lack of experience. And sadly it's still a thing despite the good intentions "truce". SoxTalk Peace Prize worthy.

True, point being though the infamous fire Getz thread or the burn it all to the ground, fire everyone crowd who were or may still be clinging to that mantra .

Just when you start to think someone doesn't belong they prove that they do. At various points in the season Kay, Fedde , Acuna, Hagen , Schultz ,Colson, Braden, Murakami and on and on have taken their lumps from this board. Yet we're still in it and the Red Sox, Cubs and Astros aren't. Just have fun and stop worrying about who sucks and who doesn't. Unless they win the World Series all of us are going to end up a bit disappointed sooner or later.

In hindsight it wasn't so bad losing the division and getting the Wild Card series. It got the Sox engines revved up and gave them confidence.
