Maybe it was just a favor to Venable to get Pham an MLB paycheck before he retired. We have no idea about the inner workings or inside info on Pham's life. Maybe someone dear to him is very ill and he could use the MLB insurance plan. I really don't think you know what you think you know as is the case with most fans. And if Getz actually made a mistake then he quickly fixed it . Don't see a problem.

I don't see a problem when there's a possibility to make the playoffs when you weren't expected to even come close. Yes I don't think they are a real contender to win the World Series nor would they be even if they got Skubal at the deadline. Were you expecting a long playoff run ?
