  1. Dont forget Egypt.
  2. Welcome aboard Chisoxtime :fthecubs
  3. If Beane wants to get rid of Zito he'll find some sucker club to give up a few talented, near major league ready prospects. After all he's still young, a left hander and a Cy Young winner. But it wont be the Sox. We're just not into high priced slumping talent but I'll add if the price was right (No BMAC, Sweeney, Anderson, Fields) and we can dump a salary (Konerko?) he'd be worth a gamble.
  4. I think El Duque just has a tired arm. I saw him smiling in his last start when they were about to take him out and he was smiling on the bench Friday. Doesn't seem to be the behavior of a guy who's hurting much. Maybe he had some kinda freak accident after the game today. But combine a tired arm with the fact the Cubs are a light hitting team and the conditions for a successful start are good. The Sox are well aware that BMac can handle the pressure though this will be a huge test to keep his composure.
  5. Good job Jason with all your work in FutureSox. I 'd like to publicly thank you for the Sox/Angels tix for Monday. If I manage to go to another game during the series I'll tell u which one so I can shake your hand and thank u in person. Best Regards Ron
  6. The ASG is 1 1/2 months away is it not ? No one is a lock at this point.
  7. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ May 18, 2005 -> 10:13 AM) Long, but good article on Jon and Co. Great article. I love those people behind the player articles. In this case seems his mom is an amazingly knowlegdeable women about baseballand one hell of a mother.
  8. Dye was actually Jermaine to the outcome of the game.
  9. I am so impressed with Gooch. I 'm just amazed at how well he has done. If he wasn't such a good number 2 hitter I wouldnt mind seeing him get more opportunities for RBI. If Paulie and Deadeye Dye continue to slump putting Iguchi # 5 or 6 should be considered . But how the hell can you take him outta the 2 hole when he has been perfect ? Let's hope Frank's return sparks a return to form for Paulie. With all the chances he's had to knock in runs he could be leading the league if his average was .260.
  10. I've never had the opportunitiy nor the inclination to hang with atheletes. However, I was driving north on the 5 freeway in L.A. county a few ago and saw a silver BMW with the license plate "Say Hey 2". Figured it was Willie Mays or a Willie Mays fan. He exited the freeway where I did and pulled into a Shell station. I followed and figured I better be extremely nice cause he has a rep of being surly. Buttered him up saying him and Mantle were the 2 best centerfielders of all time and asked for an autograph. He growled back "Do you mind if I get my gas first " ? After he got his gas he gave me his autograph. "Best wishes Willie Mays". Not a bad experience. Quite a while ago I was in a little bar next to the Pantages theater in Hollywood when Muhamed Ali walked in followed by many people. He was out in public after having recently saved someone life. I couldn't get close to him but being rather tall, he caught my eye in the mirror behind the bar and said "Don't gimme no trouble big guy" in that typical Ali wide-eyed way. I stammered back being caught totally off guard that he spoke to me "don't worry I won't. " The bartender got me his autograph after that.
  11. He's got a single, a double and a walk and scored 2 runs.
  12. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 13, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) RANGERS RALLYING Also, BUEHRLE, PODS, KONERKO, GOOCH, HERMANSON...YES How can you ,of all people, forget Willie? Yessss !
  13. Don't forget Willie . He had a ribbie.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxfan13 @ May 13, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) PWNED'D. Since it's the Orioles , O-wned !!!!!
  15. If Frank plays any more games at first for the rest of his career I will be shocked. He's had 2 season ending injuries there. He's more immobile now then he ever was before and he never could throw. That being said I can't wait to see him back in the lineup at DH. I didn't vote in the poll because, as a number of you have pointed out, once he's back, we 'll have a round robin of playing time between Frank, Carl, Paulie, Aaron, Jermaine and Pods though mostly between Frank ,Carl and Dye. The power off the bench will really be strengthened by Frank's return as will our ability to score runs from the every day lineup.
  16. I'm just glad we caught the Twins when Morneau was injured. He's a freakin' stud.
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 9, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) You know what keith, we can argue this to death, the thing is we both just view things in a different way and that's the beauty of this thing. I respect your views completely, I just differ in those things. I'll just leave this where it is cause neither of us are going to change the others opinion. I wish I'd see what you just wrote more often from a lot more people. Make your point ,admit there's 2 sides to every argument and quit beating a dead horse.
  18. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 8, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) If Walker pitches to his past potential and Cotts pitches to his current potential, Walker is the better reliever. The stats back my statement. Pitches to their past potential ?? :banghead Damn let's get Tom Seaver and Bob Gibson a call.
  19. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 8, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) That's exactly what I think... And I just looked at the Orioles' lineup. Rafael Palmeiro, Brian Roberts, Larry Bigbie, Jay Gibbons, and B.J. Surhoff all bat lefty. I knew u'd all figure it out eventually. No days off + lefties on Tb and Balt. roster + ozzie liked what he saw in ST= Walker might pitch to a lefty or two in a week before being sent back down.
  20. Now I know better. No more asking for anyone to be creative. Thanks for the effort for those who tried.
  21. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 7, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) 16 Correct
  22. I don't see a new question so I'll ask one. What number did former White Sox center fielder Ken Berry wear?
  23. They blew the old record away !! Coincidentally the old record of 25 was held by the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers who just happen to have won the World Series that year and were Jerry Reinsdorfs favorite team as a boy.
  24. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ May 7, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) This might be too big for a t-shirt, but here goes: "Pay attention. This might be one of the 42 games Hawk is always talking about!" Anyone know where to get some 1983 winnin' ugly t-shirts? Someone might consider making some and sending me one. I think I still have one. Its original.
