White Sox Winner
Hey whats more important a Sox winner or Erstad doing good again? Without Erstad sucking no one wants to say anything positive ??? 6 responses in the winners thread is crapola around an hour after the game ended.

So... when do I actually get to watch the games
Pay for the MLB extra innings on DirecTV . That will solve all your problems.

And thats a White Sox loser...
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 05:24 PM) Is .223 excuseable because they've faced good pitchers? Maybe , if it isn't I'm sure you'll tell me. If the pitching holds up , who knows , maybe we'll be the hitless wonders again. Should be a fun season. Loosen up a bit.

QUOTE(Wealz @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 03:27 PM) If you want to construct a team of line drive hitters that's one thing, but to expect this Sox team to become that is folly. That's not they way they were built. By the way off the top of my head, the Sox have faced Sabathia twice, Santanna, Harden, Verlander Millwood, and Robertson so far this season. That's pretty tough and that they are where they are so far is a pretty good sign, imo. How dare you look at the bright side of things ! You sir are a kool-aid drinking rose colored glasses fool ! Damn your optimism to hell ! Is green really necessary here ?

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 04:33 PM) Who cares about his base running skills if he doesn't get on base? This team has more than enough leadership. We need less bad baseball players in order to be successful. So an expert talent evaluator such as yourself only needs 16 games to know Erstad won't hit .275 for the whole season ? QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 04:41 PM) I believe a common misconception among baseball fans is a general manager and manager have to be considered "experts" since, after all, they do hold a valuable baseball position. Williams? I would consider him an expert. Guillen? Not so much. I'm convinced half this board could make gut decisions and hold grudges against younger players. I have to agree with you there. Especially the part about half the board. They might be no better than Guillen when it comes to having favorite players and be just as stubborn about who they play and why. But Guillen really is an expert because of his insight on what makes a good major league player. He's been there done that. None of us have and as in most things in life you are more valuable with experience.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 04:30 PM) ...and we wouldn't have posters like yourself make excuses for players sucking ass. Is Ozzie trying to trigger's Grinderstad's 2008 $6 million option before the waiver deadline? Is every player in baseball a superstar or did I miss something ? As with most of the posters who support Erstad (and there are way more then the louder more obnoxious ones might have u think) we just support the team as a whole and try to leave the managing and general managing to the experts of which you are not one.

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 02:08 PM) It's too early to be bashing our players and manager. Let's wait till September. Waiting doesnt play well around here. But you've been around long enough to know that. There are always the know-it-all, stat head , fantasy baseball geeks who think they know every facet of a game most of them have never played and wouldnt know a good team player, bad defense, or the difference between good n bad baserunning, or leadership if it jumped up and bit them on the ass.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 12:47 PM) When was the last time Erstad hit 40 homers or put up an OPS of .900+? I can think of 3 guys in the lineup that have done that within the past 2 years. When was the last time he had an .800 OPS? I can think of about 3 others that did that last year. And since when is he signed to a long-term deal? That would make it a little easier to cut him loose, wouldn't it? I just hope for the good of the organization, we can all end this entire debate and get a real CFer because Erstad is ridiculous, 3 for 5 today or not. Wow u can think of players that hit more HR's and have a higher OPS then Estad in our lineup. Thats really deep thinking on your part. Maybe if we had a whole team of guys like that we wouldn't lose a single game and have to listen to u b**** n whine.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 01:40 AM) thanks for the worst argument ever, seriously. I could start over Brian Anderson, what the f*** does that mean? jack f***ing s***. You're a potty mouthed lil fella aint ya ? How could you start over Brian Anderson ? When were u added 2 the roster ?
-
Eureka! He has seen the LIGHT!
Yea why dont u just cut everybody who hits like crap in cold weather . Would we be able to field a team at this point ? Don't act like Erstad's the only one. You're just bleating into the wind like the rest of the sheep.

Geddy Lee shows love for Old Comiskey
I have tons of albums but was never a big Rush fan but I still have Permanent Waves and a picture disc of Hemispheres with an autograph that says "rock on Sky Daniel (old Chicago DJ I think ). I'm pretty sure it was one of my brothers albums that I confiscated when I moved to California many moons ago. May have gotten it at a WLS booth at one of the 1st Chicagofests though that is a guess.

White Sox vs. A's , 4/10/07 (L)
I dont get it . Why not hit for Pods with Ozuna ,JD, and BA on the bench ? PH JD put him in right and move MAk to left or PH BA or Ozuna and they become late innings defensive replacement or Pods . It makes no sense to leave Pods in there against a lefty in the late innings when a 2nd run is huge .

Good acting by AJ?
QUOTE(ScottyDo @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 09:25 AM) Balance is absolutely correct. The PTI segment only showed the straight-on replay in which it looks pretty obvious that that ball didn't hit AJ, but on the side view the ball definitely changes trajectory at the exact point of AJ's back arm, which you can't even see on the head-on view. It definitely hit him, Wilbon's just a huge Cubtard. I forgive him though. I thought Wilbon was a Sox fan which would explain part of the reason they put it on PTI besides the obvious AJ angle.
