I hope Kenny Williams isn't dumb enough to do this. Garland is a decent 5th starter and Baj has been awesome as a closer for a while now, even though he has had some hammy issues I believe. Bill Mueller is going to be 34 years old next season and could possibly be a FA if they don't pick up his option. Why would the Sox trade pitching(young and productive and somewhat cheap) for a 34 year old 3b? All Williams has talked about is how he wants to build around pitching, why would he trade 2 pitchers if that is the case? No offense, but it just doesn't make sense to me and I don't see it happening. Just my opinion though

I read on a few boards that he has pretty much lost it and can't play against the run at all anymore. Anyways, thought it was interesting considering he was such a coveted free agent by many teams.

Nice to see when the guy gets his occasional start that he can still get some stuff done. He hit his 17th career granny today against the Mets. I wish he could have been with the Sox a bit longer and I am kinda sad to see that he is retiring after this year but what a nice career the guy has had. Interesting stuff. I remember when I was in Evanston visiting my grandma when he was having his first rape issues. Me and my uncle were at a gas station and he was filling up and he got in the car after he paid. A guy in a suit with a trench coat passed by the car and my uncle looked at him and said his name. At the time I was pretty young and didn't know who he was but my uncle told me all about the guy and how he was in deep s***. Kinda funny to hear about this guy again and memories like that just jump out of the back of my mind.
